Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

The "we're in for the best players" line is the same thing he said when asked about Ronaldo at his first press conference. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
But why not just say " no, we've not bid for him". I don't see the gain in letting people think we have bid.

The only thing we can do is make Real Madrid offer more money more quickly. I think Bale would chose them over us if both teams offered the same personal terms anyway. And more importantly than that, we can't match what Real are paying, and if we do, then it's a game changer not for just this season, but for the future.

Would he though. He'll stay in the league he is already familiar too and for the best club in that country. Spain offers him better weather and that is IT for Bale.

It's a bit silly really.... "we're in for the worlds best players". Bales on the market... United "no bids". Hmm... I think he's overpriced to hell, but Dave should probably think more before talking.

Are you in for Bale?
He said:
-UNITED will always be interested in the best players;
-we are looking to improve the team;
-the owners have given him every opportunity to bring in whoever he wants;
-he will continue to find these players and that it has been tough in this window;
Can you give me a little more - are you in for Bale? 'I can't give you anymore'... he's final reply..

No he didnt. At least, not the one on Sky Sports.

If you were referring to the Interview with Geoff Shreeves, then yeah he didn't deny we made a bid. If there was a press conference that Sky Sports showed then I missed it. I'm just repeating what someone heard that we didn't actually make a bid.

One of those Glazer blokes: "Would you like some money to buy Fabregas? However much it would take, just name it and it's yours..."

Moyes: "I think £25m should suffice."

All this talk of Ronaldo, Bale, Fabregas is some sort of master plan/distraction to get Fellaini on deadline day for 30 million.

It's an agreement engineered with Spurs is why.

1) Spurs announce that they are conisdering a rival bid to Real Madrids. - This is probably BS.
2) Moyes hints we are in for Bale. - This is probably BS

Obviously we are just helping Spurs get every penny for Bale. I said this is exactly what we should do weeks ago. Only a broken Madrid will sell us Ronnie

Seems foolish on his part. May be he was just having some fun. A few journos on Twitter now saying he clarified no bid has been made by us.

It's Moyesie trying to scare Real into selling us Ronaldo. He's a scamp is our David.

What press conference? I'm very doubtful that this has occurred. In 15 minutes they have got all the journalists to sit down and ask him questions? Pfft.

Ofcourse we arent bidding. We'd need to beat Real's bid and that just wont happen. We're more likely to sign an alien than Bale.

Do you think all journalists are fat or unable to walk relatively normal distances? I'm sure if they wanted to round up people in half an hour they could. Don't know where you got 15 minutes from.

Well you said that 10 minutes ago. 5 Minutes before he was talking to Geoff Shreeves. To be fair, you're right it's more than 15 minutes since the game ended, but it was just so crazily quickly. I could be wrong.

I said it before, I cannot imagine even at the prices quotes that we would not be at least monitorinlg and exploring the possibility.

Even at that money I think the Glazer's see potenti ROI.

He can become as popular as Messi as Ronaldo if he played for United.

This is the tweet I saw (Sorry Mods if this offends you by putting tweets in a non-twitter thread):

I would be more likely to believe that then we made a bid against a £94 million Real bid.

Could they all pose for photos with Mourinho in that time though?

He is the Special One, what do you think?

You cannot be serious

Who needs Ronaldo when you can pay £100m for Bale.
