Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

I would be absolutely amazed if Rooney wanted to quit United so bad that he'd even be willing to go to Spurs. That story has gotta be rubbish really.

Yeah. It's no so much that Spurs are a bad team (obviously, they're not); more that they aren't in the CL. Plus, it's hard to imagine Wayne being happy to be a makeweight in a transfer deal.

More on the seemingly interminable Gareth Bale transfer. Unidentified Sky Sports "sources" "understand" that no deal has been agreed between Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, and claim the London club are considering offers from other clubs. Apparently an English club and two different foreign clubs have enquired about the winger, but it is unknown whether any formal bids were made. As William Goldman once said of the film-making business: nobody knows anything.

:nervous:

I see Levy is still trying to squeeze an extra million or two from Madrid.

Yes. He is a Real Madrid player all right, this sounds like Spurs being a bit silly. No sane club will match anywhere near what Real are offering so they need to just get the fecking thing done.

There is enough doubt around for Glaston to make a comeback. He has been deathly quiet and I think it is time for a "Real haven't got any money" comeback.

Come on old China, give us the benefit of your wonderful insight and some predictions.

I highly doubt we would be the English club.

Do you really mean this are do people say things like this as part of laying the foundations for rejection?

I mean, based on everything we've heard so far this summer, news that an English club is interested would immediately point to United. I can't understand how someone could 'highly doubt' it be us.

Also, we are reported to have bid weeks ago tbh, it is possible that some of Real's tactics have angered Levy and he is less willing to do business with/be bullied by them.

Have you seen the fee that is supposedly being talked about?

Our offers for Cesc were laughable, our Fellaini bid was lower than an already relatively low release clause he once had, and we bid £12m for Baines... twice. It's clear we don't want to spend ridiculous money on an individual. Gareth Bale's fee would go beyond what would be classed as ridiculous.

I am equally unimpressed by our activity so far, but that gives us no real insight as to what we will do next. All of our views are reactionary, we have no info. If someone tells me we are making a bid for Bale, then that is a situation on its own merit. It will either go the way of our other bids so far, or it won't.

Basically, if we go after him, I'd imagine it's because we can afford him.

Indeed. The fact the media are saying another club are in for him but don't know who it is shows it has been leaked by Tottenham. They're just putting pressure on Madrid to pay up.
If that's the case, and I agree it's likely, it's such a dreadful attempt at a bluff you just feel like laughing.

It'd be fun if Madrid actually took offence at such cheap tactics and decided against the deal, and Bale had a mediocre season and was sold next summer for half the reported prices.

Pa are also reporting it so its most likely true, bet it ends up being some club in UAE or something which he would never sign for
