Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

That's just as well, because trawling through my posts to find a prediction on where Spurs and MUFC will finish this season would indeed be a waste your of time.

As for "piggy riding Pete" ... is such revolting imagery really appropriate before the watershed hour?

:smirk:

I like the way you have changed your stance, Glassy. Unless you have gone and changed your posts, I bet someone can find you mention that we'd be competitors next year with no signings and Moyes in-charge.

Is it revolting imagery? I though it was comedy hour.

He definitely said that Spurs, Arsenal and United will fight for those two positions that sends on UCL next season.

I've said that I consider MUFC a rival for a top 4 place this season (and same goes for all of last season's top 4 clubs). That is not the same as predicting Spurs will finish above United ... to point out the blindingly obvious.

I'll wait to make a prediction about league finishes until after the transfer window closes ... as should all sensible pundits.

It's reported to be Euros, not £ Twat.

And it would also be 93>80, 93<80, 93 is bigger than 80

Or is could be RS is a bigger/greater/more immense twat than I. Which you choose they are both quite acceptable
93mill EURONS is something like 80,300,000 Sterling. So do we know if Ron's fee was a flat £80mil

Yes the two statements are (slightly) different but it doesn't make yours any less stupid. United aim for than a top 4 place, what would a seismic triumph be for Spurs (4th place) would be a big disappointment for United.

Not being offensive here, but are you English? Because this sentence structuring is extremely hard to interpret, and makes little sense. If you try to make someone foolish, please make sure you get it right the first time in order to save embarrassment, thank you.

The first "is" is clearly meant to be "it". It really isn't hard to understand.

It's actually a typo, and the initial post earlier wasn't specifically aimed at making you foolish. Just taking the general piss really. No I'm not English neither. Your a bit slow on the up take seeing as BR and Eboue both picked up on what I was "trying" to say. Chill the flock out, its only a forum.

This transfer is a no-go in my opinion. Madrid have been successful in unsettling Bale and will now try to offer what they deem acceptable which is probably around the 50-60 million range with players, which Levy will not accept. I also can't see why Di Maria and Coentrao would willingly go to Tottenham, when they could quite easily find better teams that would pay higher wages to boot should they leave Madrid this summer.

I'm starting to think Madrid's public wankathon over Bale, has more to do with them letting Ronaldo know that he is expendable rather than signing Bale. I think they are gambling on the fact that they know Ronaldo genuinely wants to be at Madrid and wouldn't leave over terms in his contract. While I don't doubt Madrid would like to have Bale, every club in the world would, I do seriously doubt that they would be willing to spend the amount of money it will actually take to get Bale.

That certainly could be a possibility in trying to get Ron to extend his contract with them. Although personally I think they would gladly add him and try retain Ronnie. They are mentalists with their Galacico policy. I don't think this transfer is gonna happen this year neither. It's probably more of ensuring they unsettle the player and then trying as best they can to push the price down a bit further. Fees of 90 odd million etc is just ludicrous for him. 65 and no more at the top end of it.

No way. Real are in no position to play games with Ronaldo specially with his contract situation. He isnt even close to being expendable either. I dont see any reason to doubt that Real would be willing to spend 80mil on Bale. That's how they do their business. They spent 30mil + on Illaramendi for crying out loud.

Varun, I know that's how they do business but do you not think they are also trying to play a little hardball with Rn at the same time? It's not like they truly give a shit about the player anyway unless he's ripping it up on the pitch. Just look at how they sell off some of the stars they acquire only to go for next shiniest thing in the shop window.

Ronaldo likely wouldn't like it though and then surely wouldn't extend his contact. In fact knowing his ego, I don't think that he'll like at all his transfer record being broken.

That's the point though, Ronaldo is ripping it up on the pitch. Take him out of that squad and Madrid have no hope of competing with Barca. He holds all the cards really, one of the best players in the world, contract up in less than 2 season, at the peak of his career. They are in no position to play games. Just see hoe Perez has told the media "he's staying, we'l build the team around him, no question about that" 1000 times this summer while Ronaldo has said nothing. Its amusing.

You and me both. Despite all the hysteria and fabrication from Marca - whose latest outburst claims that Bale's signing could be just "hours away" - RM have not actually come in with a bid after all these weeks.

The whole thing smacks of bluster and a Perez propaganda exercise .... amounting to nothing very much except hot air.

I know he's got an ego but I don't think it would really matter to him what a team paid. Just my opinion.

I don't know i reckon Madrid are that mental that they could be ballsy enough to go for a bit of mind game playing with one of their own players. After all it is an absolute circus of an environment.

Yeah, welcome to the shit we had to put up with for 2 years. fecking Marca. They'll photoshop him in a Madrid jersey soon  assuming they haven't already!

You sort of have to admire Real Madrid just being who they are, not giving a singular feck. They enter into a partnership with a club, with lots of talk about mutual respect etc. and then the following summer they start the same old tricks.

Out of interest Glaston. Who would you prefer Bale was sold to. Us or Madrid?

If these were the only choices, then RM ... both because we'd likely get more money (them being more desperate and profligate with cash) and because I'd rather not see a Prem rival strengthened.

How is that interesting? Do you feel warm and fuzzy if he says he prefers him to go to us?

The answer is Madrid btw.

Edit: ah, he was a few seconds earlier.

Especially considering United are light years ahead of Spurs already.
[Glaston mode on]Every season is a blank page. All teams start with zero points and write their story on that sheet. It's possible that Spurs win the league while United finish 8th next season.

.... It's possible that ... United finish 8th next season.

Don't be so pessimistic mate. Yes, Rooney wants out, Fabregas is a pipe-dream, Fergie's gone and Moyes has replaced him, but keep your chin up.

I thought it was a way for them to sign Bale in two years time. Looks like they want him ASAP.

from Sky.

Spain-based journalist Graham Hunter tells Sky Sports that Real Madrid are prepared to go up to €93million for Gareth Bale.

That is just crazy money.

Not really, FFP kicks in soon, so big transfers such as this will calm down, this could be a desperate one-off, you never know those 8th August rumours may hold a little weight

David Pleat reckon's he's too young for a big more. What a cnut....shouldn't be asked about anything concerning the scummers.

people should be banned from quoting graham hunter. disgraced himself with lies and more lies during that thiago nonsense. another idiot pretending to be in the know

Agreed. Proved himself clueless and prepared to invent a headline.

a) rooney wants out; doesn't mean hes actually leaving and has had his head turned before. no change there.
b) fabregas is a pipe dream; given that they've never had fabregas before and done pretty well without him, again youre suggesting theres a problem when in fact things are exactly as they have been. being champions and not signing one of your targets isn't neccesarily a problem.
c) fergies gone; the only relevant and rubbish jibe you came up with.

I cant fathom why a spurs fan has so much to say on a united forum. and I only say this because you have had so much rubbish to say lately. yet another Tottenham fan talking the talk before the actual football begins. nice to see you drawing attention to the fact rooney wants out in a thread mostly to do with the player that keeps your team from being a mid table side wanting out.

We'll still have van Persie who's better, any top class player is a pipe dream to your lot and for all you know we may do very well under Moyes.
