What the hell. Who has said they have bid £100 million? Or did you just make it up?

We were talking about Madrid offering what £86 million a second ago...

He probably means 100 million Euros...

I never heard anyone say that. Frankly they'd be a bit crazy if they did think bale was as good as Ronaldo, because he isn't and won't ever be close to him.

In a way they are saying it though, as they are willing to pay that sort of fee. I don't think he is anywhere near Ronaldo. Ronaldo has everything going for him including looks.

Yeah, but RM have got more desperate since then.

Yeah I dont think desperation comes into it. Especially with more changes at Barcelona this summer, things look good for Madrid having a much better shot at the title even with the same players

But why? Even without Bale, their team looks droolworthy on paper. I don't get it.

Perez is a bigger muppet than anyone here on the caf. Add to that the dick measuring competition they have with Barca(which barca are leading after signing neymar) and you have a disastrous combo.

Bale & Ronaldo v Neymar & Messi... the giants v the fleas. Does make for riveting viewing.

Is Neymar?

I bet Isco will have a better year than Neymar.

Raees' post is on about height.

Bale and Ronaldo are both 6ft+ (according to wiki), whereas Neymar and Messi are 5ft 9 and below (again, according to wiki), so Raees is saying Bale and Ronaldo are 'giants' (due to height), while Neymar and Messi are fleas (due to height). Isco is apparently around the same height as Neymar so would be a flea and wouldn't fit with the point Raees is making (hence why I said Isco isn't exactly a 'giant').

I wasn't on about player performance and neither was he.

:p Sorry. I thought we were comparing the might. And I say Ronaldo/Bale, as I want us to get one. ;)

I hope this forces our hand to make a bid.

We cannot afford for the only truly world class talent to come from Britain in the last ten years to go abroad.

Exactly

And if we are going to include Isco, Barcelona would say Iniesta but that defeats the whole purpose of my original post.

We cannot spend 100m on him. And I don't think that we should go nuts to get him because he's British.

It's absolutely impossible for us to match Spurs valuation. The only chance of Bale ever playing for United is if he goes somewhere else (Madrid) now and struggles for the next 2-3 seasons so that they are forced to sell him cheaper.

Not Vato, but if it is structured as 60m Euros cash + players I don't know any Madrid fans (not a scientific survey I admit) who would be bothered by it. They aren't worried about squad depth, because they want players like Jese and Morata to get the backup roles, they're worried about the first XI and the pursuit of the great white whale knows as the Decima.

So trading 4 good players for one great one makes sense to them.

I see Bale been a good player and besides CR and messi and don't know any great player (playing). Anyway I was reading Marca or AS and they said the new manager wants to move Ronaldo to a central position :wenger: which means a very unhappy Ronaldo scoring less goals and I don't think he will sign a new contract if that's true. Lets hope

Strange if true he's much better coming from a wider position. He's like a ghost at itmes.

THE ITALIAN CONFIRMED HE WANTS TO CLOSE THE AREA

In the third game of the preseason was confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti wants to Cristiano Ronaldo near the area, center forward and embedded between plants. The Portuguese, with the Italian coach, is reduced in its scope 30 meters. He left to start from the center of the field (50 meters on target) to be in the crescent of the area (18 meters).
Perhaps it is too early to draw conclusions about whether this new demarcation Portuguese benefit or harm.Christian was not without opportunities. Especially in the second half, where Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper, Sirigu, he got four balls goal with successful interventions in different types of shot (head shot from distance, near and-kick). But I have a feeling of playing boxed and, less meters and mobility, not as spectacular as when booted from the band.
Open the 'locks'
will have to continue to pay attention to this new center forward position, shared with Benzema, who is joining Ancelotti. Nor can it be said to be immovable. The Portuguese like to run and when the team folds back to steal the ball, is the first reference to exit a counterattack.

The main deficiency that is Christian, forward, is the difficulty to play with his back to the goal. You must get the ball to pass or turn around and profiled to shoot. A movement that has to run in a few seconds, in a confined space and central pressure. In this kind of actions did well.
The question to ask is why Ancelotti wants to Cristiano Ronaldo as above. The explanation may be that the new coach aims to gather near the area to several players who play the ball quickly. We talked about Ozil, Isco, Modric and Benzema. These, plus the Portuguese, form a five forwards attack.
Real Madrid are going to find in the league a lot of teams that are going to lock back, they will bolt, and the formula passes these players combine to open those defenses.
Christian will not need to have as many meters in this type of games in which there will be meters to run. You have to get used to playing closer to the area, to be more opportunistic and smell the goal in these spaces. The other answer can be interpreted with the signing of Gareth Bale, if it occurs. The Welsh play further back, in the old position of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Spurs seem to be very quiet about things. Tired of repeating themselves or resigned to a loss?

Probably the latter - and if the quoted figures are correct, they should break open the champagne for they've done the biggest fleecing job in the entire history of the universe ever.

It's a pity he ends up in Spain. But tbh you saw it coming ages ago. If we ever had a chance to get him, it's gone the moment he goes to Madrid.

Apparently Danny boy has been seen laughing crazily at a £80m bid for Gareth Bale and is holding out for £7bn plus Ronaldo, Modric and Ozil, hoping to receive an offer by Sunday.

The baffling thing in all of this is that Bale apparently thinks he had a gentleman's agreement with Levy to let him go easily if they didn't make the CL.

I would have thought after Berbatov and Modric, any agent/player would know that if you want a deal like that in a contract, you put it in the contract. Are they all under hypnosis when they do the negotiation?

Failure of imagination by the press, likelier than something that actually took place.

Villas-Boas does seem resigned to losing Bale. I guess what's left is Levy absolutely tearing Real a new one in the negotiations.
