Since his return after injury he's looked very very average. It's almost like defenders have figured out how to play him. On his last season form (from Feb to May) and early this season, he's worth 30m easily.

He is a good player but overhyped and not worth anywhere near the £35-40m he has been put up for. Not a penny over £20m because he is still young and can improve.

With today's Market and what Bale's accomplishments this season, that alone is already worth 30m...

Not saying that he was superior to Nani, nor did I say he was worth that much, but Spurs do not need to sell... Unless Bale himself wants to taste the CL again then the deal will probably be on.

I don't want a debate about prices because its terribly inflated in today's markets and no one will ever know his true worth, but Bale will definitely improve our squad whether it is to cover LW/LB, he can be easily utilized and to me he is one of the best young LW's out there.

Wouldn't mind any of the Sanchez's, Hazard's, or Bales this season.

True, but same can be said for Nani after his injury from the Carragher tackle.

Not trying to join the Bale parade, just saying that there are ups and downs and definitely injuries play a major part of how good/confident a player can be.

What the feck did Bale accomplish this season? He scored a hat-trick and schooled Maicon a couple of times. Does that make him the best player in the world?

Do you ever watch Spurs ?

Did you watch him at the start of the season ?

Even with his stats that weren't comparable to Nani, did you ever watch him for 90 minutes and could point out that we was a very good player and the opposition had to double team him most of the time ?

Jesus RDCR07, there is a limit of trying to be a WUM you know ?

Who on earth said he was the BPITW ?

Bale getting itchy feet?

Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has hinted that Spurs must match his ambitions or he could seek a move away from the club.

The 21-year-old was the stand-out performer for Harry Redknapp's side in their first foray into the Champions League and his hat-trick against Inter

Milan at the San Siro will live long in the memory.

But the north Londoners failed to repeat their domestic success of 12 months ago and finished fifth in the standings this time around to only qualify for the Europa League.

Bale has become hot property after his stellar season at White Hart Lane, with several top clubs though to be interested in acquiring his signature.

But the Wales international has pledged his future to Spurs, at least in the short term, as he wants to see how far he can go with his present employers.

However, the Cardiff-born star admits that he wants to perform on the biggest stage at club level and has made it clear that it is the Champions League that excites him the most as he looks to showcase his talents.

"It's a competition I really need to be playing in," he said. "Wales haven't qualified for a long time and the Champions League is the highest level I'm going to be playing at apart from international level.
"Scoring a hat-trick at the San Siro was massive and a great experience for me and something I will always have to look back on.
"It's obviously massive for me personally but next season we're not in it, we're in the Europa League.
"It will give us more motivation to finish in the top four to be able to play in that competition."

Don't want the chimp, will cost too much and vastly overrated...

'Arry will have a lot of fun this summer if he lets both Bale and Modric go.

I bet he has about 12 midfielders lined up already.

Only winger I've seen murder Maicon. Got to admit he is a deadly threat.

And yet Rafael, as well as others, have kept him deadly silent.

He was little known and surprised a few people, then get was figured out and did piss all since. Do not want.

Hearing rumours that a couple of clubs are preparing bids for Gareth Bale. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a keen admirer of Bale and will be forced to step in if other clubs make bids.

“We want to keep Gareth, he’s the future of the club, he’s been fantastic and he’s not only a top player he’s a great lad as well, so we need to keep him,” he stated.

“We need to keep (Luka) Modric, the better players, Sandro - the Brazilian boy - has been fantastic as well. We need to build the team around Bale."

Wales ace Bale is staying at Spurs, says Redknapp

(Redknapp was interviewed yesterday, at a golf day in Newport, Wales).

Barcelona will never buy gareth bale.

He is a kick and run type footballer, will never fit there style.

Jordi Alba from valencia will be there new LB.

He is quick, a very good passer and is from the barcelona area - he is nailed on.

I do agree that Alba's more likely but don't you think Alves is similarly direct or kick and run?

They seem similar in style. But thing with Alves is that he is able to exchange passes with other while on a run. Bale seems to keep his head down while making a run and only really looks to pass when close to the goal. But I do think Bale at LB will work for Barca, he will help them unlock teams who pack the middle. Though will make them even more weak defensively/

Im not saying Bale could not do a job, sure he would probably be good and be successful, but bales main strength is his top speed and having space to run into.

The amount of posession barca have like against chelsea, bale wont ever get a chance to do that.

Alves is alot more tricky in his play, he plays 1/2's and has a very good eye for a pass, when he gets behind the defence the majority of the times he picks a player out.

Plus on the other side is they could perhaps become too unbalanced; Usually when Alves attacks Abidal would sit back and help cover, with the 2 of them attacking could they become too exposed?.

I just think rather than spending 40m on a british player who might never work in there system, they can buy a local lad for a quarter of that price that knows there style of play and country inside out.

I agree with you both in that it would make them weaker defensively but then that's the case if they buy Alba anyway. Alves is 28 so he'll have a good 3 years left in him you'd think, it'll be a very attacking setup with them both in it. I think Bale's a better passer than you're giving him credit for though and over time at Barca he'd develop his passing game, he could contribute in the same way that Alves does in that sense I reckon.

All that aside it's surprising that they're even going to make a move for a new young left back when they've already got a teenage sensation at left back coming through the cantera. If Jordi Alba came he'd be there for 10 years, that essentially blocks out Grimaldo's pathway completely if Alba develops into the player he can. Obviously you can't rely on a 16 year old making it but why not just go for a more experienced, short-term replacement and wait to see how he develops.

Alves is a brilliant dribbler, his close control is a lot better

Fair enough, never noticed that myself.

He should be a Man United player. He's got the quality and potential. He'll most likely end up at City though

Is there a single player that you think won't end up at City?

It seems not.

Javi Martinez
We are all going to be left very bitter when he signs for City. I bet they are knocking on his agent's door waving a fatcheque right now.

Eden Hazard
He will end up at City or Chelsea imo.

Modric will leave Spurs also.

Goetze
I am not going to indulge in a muppet fest in this thread after being stung so disappointedly recently.
We will NOT be signing him as he is TOO good. Our policy is to leave the really top players go to Barca, City, Real etc

Ibra
Ibrahimovic to City it is then
