Ganso - Paulo Henrique

I'm not sure why those are the 5 choices because they share little in common - Reus and Hazard are fundamentally different players to Ganso, for example.

I don't think much thought went into the choices as far as where they'd fit in etc., just the ones that he finds most exciting right now.

By that logic he should've included M'Vila or Martinez. Would prefer either of those to any of the ones mentioned.

Stange come and get him European clubs but don't

Santos: No offers yet for Ganso

Santos president Luis Ribeiro says he has yet to receive any official bids for Ganso, but admitted he may have to sell the highly-rated midfielder should an acceptable offer arrive.

Ganso, 22, has been courted by some of Europe's biggest clubs for some time, with Milan pair AC and Inter the most closely linked to his signature.

The likes of PSG and Manchester United have also reportedly shown an interest but despite claims in December that Milan had tabled a £16.5 million bid, Ribeiro insists he has yet to receive a formal offer for the Brazil international.

"If the player wants to leave, we will have to listen to offers. But as of today, no offer for him has yet arrived," Ribeiro told O Globo.

"The desire of the player is most important. If Ganso wants to leave Santos and our interests are preserved, we can negotiate."

The player's preference appears unclear at present, with reports in Brazil suggesting he is ready to test himself in Europe.

However, Ganso claimed at the end of November that he would be keen to enter discussions about a new contract.

"My desire is to reach an agreement with those at Santos and extend my contract here," he said. "I have told the president I want to talk in January after the Club World Cup."

Santos are twats. They just dissolved their multi medal winning women's team because they couldn't afford to keep it running after giving Neymar a massive wage.

Tottenham target Brazil midfielder Ganso for £15 million
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to hold talks today to sign the highly-rated Brazilian international midfielder Ganso in a deal that would be worth more than £15 million.

Ganso’s agent, Teodoro Fonseca, arrived in London yesterday and is hoping to meet Spurs to discuss the future of the player who has been told he can leave Santos in this transfer window if a deal can be struck.

Santos president Luis Oliveira recently announced that Ganso could go if "the offer matches our expectations" before adding that the club had yet to receive a bid. It’s understood that 55 per cent of Ganso’s contract rights are currently held by an investment group, ***.

A host of Europe’s leading clubs, including Manchester United and both AC and Inter Milan, have been linked with a move for the talented 22-year-old who recently featured in the Fifa World Club Cup in Japan.

Although, ultimately, he and Santos disappointed in losing heavily in the final to Barcelona, Ganso is still regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in world football. Whether he can cope with the physical demands of the Premier League remains to be seen.

Spurs are third in the table, just six points behind leaders Manchester City and with a game in hand and manager Harry Redknapp is keen to improve his squad for the second half of the campaign. Redknapp has intimated that he would like to make a significant signing this window and it had been thought he was keen to attract a striker, although he said he had no specific transfer targets.

Some cracking quotes from Harry Redknapp now, who's been chatting to London 24 about Ganso and other things.

Regarding a £15million move for the Brazilian midfielder, 'Arry said, "I've never heard of him. Where does he play? What position? I don't get to Brazil too often to watch games."

That's true Harry, very true. And nor did we know the slightest thing about Sandro before signing him.

Because, as everyone knows, it is impossible to know what position someone plays without making the trip to see them play in the flesh.

He is saying he doesn't know who he is and where he plays, yet 'Arry knows somehow he plays in Brazil.

I found it quite refreshing that he was so honest though. It's rare you hear a manager say they've never even heard of someone. He could have easily pretended he knew.

Probably because the question asked was about "Santos player".....I mean he's pretty English through and through, but I'm sure he knows Santos is a Brazilian team.

Doh, put that quote in the other Redknapp thread.

Oh and Ganso will move to Corinthians on a bridging contract. *** have close ties with them.

Think the point was that there's no way he didn't know and that he was pretending he DIDN'T know

Apparently the chairman is willing to listen to offers for the lad:

Santos are ready to listen to offers for Man United and Chelsea target Paulo Henrique Ganso.

The 22-year-old has been capped eight times by Brazil and is considered one of the country's brightest talents.

Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro told Record: ''Only Neymar is not negotiable. All other players, including Ganso, have the door open, depending on the proposals as they arise.

''If the will of Ganso is to leave, and there are clubs interested, then we are willing to listen to offers for him.''

According to the guy that own's half his economic rights(Sonda), speaking to ESPN in Brazil, he won't play another game for Santos and will be moving soon.

Most likely Internacional as he has close links with the club.

Internacional, the Brazilian club? Or is that a typo and you meant Internazionale?

Surely it makes no sense for him to move within Brazil, would cost a fortune and it's a sideways move.

Yeah, Internacional of Porto Alegre.

I imagine it will be a bridging contract before a big money move to Europe, replacing Oscar who looks to be moving to Europe soon.

Interesting, can't think he'd be cheap which will only rise his price for when he moves to Europe if he does.

Do they have that much money? It will only take a sugar daddy club to make an obscene bid and Santos will go with them rather than Internacional imo. Plus if Ganso had sense he would go to a sugar daddy club. More money + chance of contending for more prestigious trophies. I'm surprised \PSG haven't made an enquiry/bid.

Ganso is 55% owned by a man. Santos only own a share in him, so the transfer fee wouldn't be that much.

The man in question has close links with Internacional and I imagine he's only going there for a year at most as his relationship with Santos is strained.

It's a deal similar to what was being touted with him and Corinthians.

Of course, he could move to Italy or Porto to replace Hulk and not go there at all. Just reports in Brazil touting this now as a huge possibility.

Ah right. Would it be similar to Tevez then where that Kia bloke seems to dictate where Tevez WILL go rather than where Tevez wants to go?

Fergie wont get involved with that kind of shite again

With a half a century of football experience, SAF's has enough experience not to get involved in this mess in the first place. Unfortunately is it wise not to do that? Think about it. During Tevez time, we managed to strengthen a then weak position with a world class striker on cheap. Such deal served us well as we won various honors including a CL title. Do you think that SAF's regret that? Was Tevez a better deal then a 30m rated Bulgarian who ended up our 4th striker and with little resale value?

I dont want to sound pessimist but our transfer budget is somehow limited. Under such circumstances we can't afford to snub bargains especially if there are quality players involved.

I'd have him in a heartbeat.

I'd have him in a heartbeat.

I agree. Reading that, a move away from Brazil might make a huge difference for him, and he wouldn't cost the fortune it would have cost to get him a year or so ago.

Every game I've seen him play he's shined out to me.

sometimes the bulgarians with no resale value are better in the long run if you know what I mean. i doubt this boy is tevez mk2 however and we should sign him if the chance comes. This guy always plays good when I have seen him.

How much would it cost to buy the man out?

Brazilian Ganso could be set to spark a Premier League bidding war after it emerged he is unhappy at Santos.

The 22-year-old midfielder is a target for Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea following a series of impressive displays alongside Neymar.

And Santos' vice-president Odilio Rodrigues admission that the 22-year-old is keen to leave Santos, will put both sides on red-alert.

"Ganso doesn't want to play for Santos anymore. We learned that from the club's president Luis Alvaro last Thursday,” Rodrigues told Lancenet.

"Ganso has lost his interest in Santos so we won't try to keep him anymore. However, we won't give up his buyout fee.

“Since Delcir Sonda and Ganso are interested (in a move) negotiations are open but the buyout fee has to be paid."

whats the buyout, 50 million pounds or something stupid

£45m. The club says that, but if the got about £25m I reckon they'd take that, as it seems the relations between the player and club aren't great.

They will be lucky to get anything more than £20 million right now IMO.

Should of probably sold him a year ago when his stock was high.
