Ganso - Paulo Henrique

Of all the various prospects we have been linked with, I feel this kid could be the one to make an impact on the first team fastest.

Reports in Italy state that AC Milan wants him.

So's what actually having some work does to me over the last year. I'm so far behind with world football. I still fancy Giuliano though for central mid.

I see The Goose wants to follow the Pato and Robinho route to stardom, I wish him the best of luck with that.

Some players never learn, they are brought up being told how great certain sides are and when it comes to expressing their preferences they stick to these rigid and sometimes outdated perceptions. The AC Milan that Kaka joined was different from the one that Pato did but both had one thing in common, they were heading to a transition period with key men getting on and the management being reluctant to give young blood chances save for a few exceptions and I don't think Paulo Henrique fits under this.

No need to say a word about Real Madrid, it's common knowledge. Barcelona?? Blimey? What gives him the idea that he can displace the status quo there? He could just end up being another Hleb.

If The Goose really wants to blossom in Europe he should be looking to move to sides that will allow him to flourish, play and someday grant him his wish to join his favourite sides as a proven and established pro. In England of all the big teams only us and Arsenal can offer him that.

AC Milan is not a bad option for a Brazilian. There is a strong contigency there and their team do need a revamp. I agree on the rest.

They do BUT they look directionless at the moment, content with simply finishing the league high enough to qualify for Europe. Even though they do need a revamp I don't see them spending much on rebuilding their squad to match that of their halcyon days nor do I see them producing quality young players using their youth setup. They have just sacked Leonardo and frankly with rebuilding a certain degree of continuity as far as the management is concerned is vital and they haven't done that as we stand.

They could go either way but for the life of me given their current modus operandi I don't see them being actively competitive for a few seasons

I know there's not really any quotes but I'm inclined to believe it. I say this after reading Ferguson's comments about Pato. He said he had a good look when he was 16/17 in Brazil and made a couple of offers, but he was in a bidding war with Milan. He gave up at around 12m due to the risk he could be taking, but in the interview he said that he regretted it and reallised he was worth it. I can't see this guy costing upwards of 15m and i hope I'm right because even that is stretching it a bit.

If Hernandez wants a stepping stone to Real, Milan is ideal. The club starves for creativity and has a whole Brazilian contingency to help him settle down

Maybe the lad thinks he's good enough to go to a Madrid or Barca and force his way in? Or sign and go out on loan to another Spanish side where he can play regularly?

I also think it's relevant that only a certain type of player will want to join any club in the Premier League. This kid has probably had Robinho in his ear telling him horror stories about the weather or that he'll get kicked all over the place.

Unfortunately the poorer teams in the PL rely on physicality, whereas in Spain or Italy even the poorer teams try to play football.

Benzema is a good example - joined Real but also talked up a move to Milan. maybe the simple fact is some players think its easier to play in Spain or Italy?

The Battle of Manchester: United will fight City for Paulo Henrique Ganso's signature

By Sportsmail Reporter

Manchester United representatives have made contact with Santos about young midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso.

Manchester City are believed to have first refusal on the 20-year-old as a result of the deal struck over City's on loan striker Robinho. However, City's option will expire when that loan ends on August 4.

Considering he's already told City where to go you could almost make us front-runners!

It's impossible to tell from a YouTube video whether he is actually good.

Don't get excited, the Mirror says "linked with". We are seemingly linked with any and every player but there's nothing here to indicate that they haven't concocted this "link" themselves.

Over the next couple of months I'm sure we will be "linked" with many more players.

I'd love to see Gonzo at United.

All the reports of him peffering to move to Madid are apparently bullshit. The person who said it wasn't his agent.

dont city have some agreement with santos ..
they gave them robinho on loan

I think it ran out in August and that's why we were rumored to have attempted an agreement. Who knows though.

Is he back from injury yet ? Heard he was side lined and was out for a couple of months ? Or was I mistaken him for someone else.

He's still recovering from a serious knee injury, has been out for a few months. But so far this guy has been pure class, I think he'll really shine in the next few years.

I think United should go for him, unless the price gets bloated up too much. He might not work out in the end, but this is a guy we should give a shot.

According to Tim Vickery, there were almost riots in Brazil when Dunga refused to pick him and Neymar for the 2010 World Cup. According to Mr. Vickery, Ganso has really improved in the past season or so and he said Ganso is ready to take the next step in his career and move to a bigger club. I bet he'll move to a club in Ukraine as it is a hot spot for Brazilians.
