Television Game of Thrones TV Series | Season 2 | NO book talk!!

The two Stark kids are in trouble. They are heading north while the 'things' beyond the wall are also marching towards it from the other end. The dragons are ready. Daenaryes is coming back home. I really do feel for the Starks. Sansa is in Kings Landing. Arya is in the middle of nowhere. Robb and his mother are fighting a war. The two kids are heading away from them. Can their family more apart and in a bigger mess?

I reckon that Rob Snow makes allies of the white walkers and the Stark kids wind up with him and his own army of the supernatural. Seeing as every other family seems to be using some form of 'magic', I think that this will wind up being the Stark's 'blessing'.

Sansa is by some distance the dumbest character.

I thought there was some hope for her when she walked away laughing after Joffrey said he'd marry your other girl, but in the conversation with Littlefinger she showed that she is still a massive idiot.

To be fair, deciding not to accept the help of the man that stabbed your father in the back doesn't make you an idiot.

I was a bit disappointed that the white walkers seemed like an organised army. I was expecting a bunch of hallions that just feck up everything in their path. I would have liked them to have killed Sam in the last scene.

That was stupid, did she really think she was free from trouble now she was no longer going to marry Joffrey? As Littlefinger pointed out, she's in deeper shit now and if she has any brains she won't trust him either.

Why she didn't leave with the hound is beyond me, absolutely stupid decision.

I know but it's more the constant mumbling of how devoted she is to the king that identifies her as an idiot. No one believes her so she may as well keep her mouth shut about Joffrey on the whole.

The Sopranos has to be one of the most overrated show of all times. Don't get me wrong it's a great show. Just not *that* great.

Talking about Sopranos. No Spoilers just an overview.
The first seasons in particular are rather slow and drawn out, and when the big moments do appear in them they seem so quickly over that tts rather anti-climatic.

Compare that to Ned Stark getting his head chopped off. Only 9 episodes in, but it was ridiculously climatic, monumental and provoked a massive range of emotions.
:wenger:

I like GOT a lot but some of the writing is average and a lot of character traits poorly drawn out and cliched.

I thought he seemed a bit rapey. The way he talked about enjoying killing so much, I'm not surprised she didn't go with him.

Question is, is she safer at King's Landing with the Lannisters or going back north with a killing machine, who despite his evil intentions has looked after her in the second season and has more honour than Joffrey?

I'd have escaped at the first opportunity, now the only person she can trust is Littlefinger, who absolutely cannot be trusted as Ned found out.

She's just an airhead, it has little to do with her age. I mean look at her little sister.

Different interests. Sansa was interested in being ladylike and looked forward to being a queen. Arya didn't and learned other stuff. If Arya wouldn't have escaped she'd be constantly locked up and beaten because she can't behave. Sansa does what she does to escape a beating. What else is a girl supposed to do in her shoes. She hadn't even been taught about her period ffs. Only thing she's been taught is to ride a horse, knit, look pretty in a dress and behave among royalty.

People really thought she should just have gone off with Littlefinger no questions? Very dangerous man, a big liar and the man who's one of those who's mostly responsible for her fathers death.
Or the Hound. We look at him and think he's badass. What has she seen or heard of him? Pretty much a giant scary looking murderer who has said to her face that what he likes the most is killing. Yea, great company for a girl who's never been outside any form of walls without a massive escort.

Wouldn't be like that if GoT had the same amount of episodes per season as the Sopranos. 3 more hours can do a lot for the characters.

It does when you've got nothing else to do at King's Landing and you've been utterly humiliated by the Lannisters. Not to mention that Cersei might just have her killed when she'll feel like it.
It's more dangerous to stay in King's Landing for her than ever before

She won't be killed. It's just as dangerous now as before. She's their top prisoner. They can't afford to lose her.

I agree I find that a bit annoying. I don't think in real life anyone would do that.

Yes but isn't Jaime Lannister returning to King's Landing?
A Lannister always pays his debt though, and he promised to return the girls in return for his freedom. Weather or not he'll actually do it is beyond me, I'm sure one of the cnuts whose read the books is about enlighten us though.

Once Jaime returns to K.L what of her then ? I can't see it happening but some sort of quick death to her wouldn't annoy at all.

They'll just speculate as always

me too, he's annoying.

The feck has this thread turned in to? I think I'll stay out of it til next season starts. I'm also going to read the books.

Anyone else think that the White Walker guy looked a bit shit? Too muppety to be scary...

But that the fantasy genre to be honest.

Edit - What I mean by that is, in a different fantasy series, every woman in all the books have the combined personalities of a toothpick. The most interesting character moments involve one or the other of the women getting their arse spanked, or getting a royal jabbering. That's the only time they aren't moping about men.

The strong guy will be strong, the bitch's will bitch, the hero's will hero, etc.

Piss off! If something with missing limbs and with holes in its stomach was coming towards me I would be fecking terrified!

If something with missing limbs and holes in it's stomach came towards me I reckon I'd have the upper hand.

Sansa has reached Lisa Simpson levels or shitness.

? Who hates on Lisa Simpson? I've never heard anyone say she's a shit character!

I thought he seemed a bit rapey. The way he talked about enjoying killing so much, I'm not surprised she didn't go with him.

Looked rapey to me too. She is just a teenage girl in a world made for men, I'm not sure I would have trusted the Hound in her place. Big risk either way, but it's hard to reach out and choose something so dangerous.

But does Sansa know anything about her father's business, that her dad ever trusted him, or the truth about Littlefinger betraying Ned? We have no reason to think so, and people keep information tight to their chest in this world.

I agree, thought he looked like a muppet, a bit too silly.

You're right. She probably doesn't know. She only knows he's shifty.

Not to my knowledge they have no idea about it. The Stark camp knows he's missing. That's it.

That's not what I meant. I was saying if Jaime reaches King's Landing, then Cerci will have nothing to fear, now that she will have her brother by her side to kill Sansa but Silva said something interesting as well - that the Lannisters repay their debt always. So there is still a slight chance that they might let Sansa go or at least smuggle her out of KL because Goffrey will not want her to leave.

But it was Tyrion who agreed the trade with Catelyn without telling his sister of his plans. As he is the one who has to pay 'the debt' and since no one seems to give a shit about him, it is unlikely his end of the bargain will be honoured by the other Lannisters.
