Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

So after all that Jon ends where his story pretty much started?

That was dreadful.

I started watching this from the start about 3-4 weeks ago. I want my time back!

Absolute shit ending, dunno why I stayed up for it.

They've had us all over ffs. Could have atleast had a night king looming over looking at John and co going back to the wild.

Or sneaky Peter baelish in the crowd at sansa for crowned (alive due to faceless man).

Or some other thing which makes us not think "oh nice happy ending" ffs.

The first 25 minutes was excellent, surprisingly so. Its the best looking episode of the season. The show has clearly borrowed from the dark souls aesthetic late on, in a good way. The Dany ending was fine, if you squint past her character development from past episodes. The dragon in the snow was so dope.

The love and death of duty speech was painful dialogue. The council scene was quite rough and just gave the audience a chance to see all the characters they've fecked up over the last few years. So much bad talking. After that it was all a bit of a fudge, but that's understandable when you have to tie everything up for the simpleton demographic. A very schmaltzy but competently handled ending.

Overall though it was nowhere near as fecking dreadful as some of the previous episodes. It's like when you are 7 nil down and get a worldy in injury time.

I hope everyone enjoyed the cherry on the top of their trash heap.

In my opinion feck off.

I bet the ending in books will be entirely different.

Fcuk you GRRM for ruining the show. Take your books up your *** as soon as you are finished with them.

George R R Martin said the show and the books will have the same ending it’s just some character arcs go a bit differently to get there
The fact that he hasn't even finished the books tells you this is a convoluted mess.

The actors were probably glad this was all over. No way would they want another season and neither do D&D.

Meh. The pacing was off all season & it’s lead to a disappointing ending. Everything was too perfect after the carnage of last week.

Jon petting Ghost almost saved this season.

I’ve defended this season but have to admit that was so damn underwhelming. Absolutely rubbish ending.

The finale was so bad, I wish I had never started watching the show

Yes I take back everything I can't defend that . I thought Boardwalk Empire had a terrible ending but not compared to this .

Sense and logic just went out the window never to return .

When Bronn came in I honestly expected the cast to turn to the camera and laugh at us for watching it

Still they rebuilt that wall quick

‘Game Of Thrones’ Viewers Reeling After Finale Unexpectedly Kills Off Fan
PARAMUS, NJ—Saying they were still struggling to process what just happened, Game of Thrones viewers were reportedly reeling Sunday after the show’s season finale unexpectedly killed off a fan. “Holy shit, they decapitated some guy named Spencer Davenport from Dayton, Ohio,” said local woman Gaby Green of the brutally slain marketing specialist, whose bloody death in the final minute of the series’ gripping seventh season blindsided viewers across the country. “I should be ready for shocking deaths by now, but my jaw still fecking dropped when I saw that sword slice right through Spencer’s neck and his head crash to the floor of his studio apartment. I mean, Jesus. Well, at least it wasn’t Tyrion.” At press time, millions of viewers said they couldn’t wait for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones to find out if they themselves lived through the series’ very last episode.

the entire episode has a weird sentimental vibe to it

almost as if a once great show had returned a decade after finishing to milk the fans once last time

Best show ever for like 6-7 seasons and then ending it like that... so dumb. Ending it was always going to be difficult but they really just went the "you didnt see that one coming" route instead of the one that made sense.

Ghost should have ripped his head off.

As for Bran, I think he kind of cheekily implied he knew he was going to be made into King right? So he could see into the future as already implied which also therefore means he didn't warn anyone and let all of Kings Landing melt just so he could sit on the throne. Ultimately, he turns out to be the best Littlefinger in the game.

Glad Arya didn't kill Daenerys and i'm glad Drogon survived. The rest, well. Yeah.

He already said the ending for the main characters will be exactly the same.

The journey to get to those points will just be better handled

Apt username if you’re even attempting to defend that.

Would have been better if Jon had ridden the Dragon back to Valeria with the Corpse.

I don't believe a sh!t he says. I am glad I have WOT to console me. At least it has a proper ending.

Was that somehow satire? Have I missed something?

As a book reader/show watcher/nerd I'm not even sure I'm mad. That was so bad as to almost be a work of art of its own. It might be genius - take the biggest show in history, and reduce it to that.

One of the worst hours of television in history. Maybe the worst given what had happened before. Finally, Dexter can rest as not being the show with the most tarnishing ending.

Really disappointed by that. The character decisions were wrong all season & not consistent. No chance Jon would’ve been a prisoner when they were killing Lannister soldiers earlier.

Shit writing all season. Felt like a parody.
