Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

They'll probably have a spin off show. West of westeros or something.

I've been wanting to watch GOT from season 1, but I want to wait after it all finished. Should I start watching it or is the ending will be a total let down?

Not sure if this is a wum or not but overall it's obviously one of the best series ever and worth the watch. You've got nothing to lose and probably enjoy it more without the 2 year gap.

I mean it was rushed and pretty bad, but people are just overreacting at this point, it was Ok ending for the characters, but fans just want blood at the moment I guess.

This is like a matchday thread at the moment, kneejerking all over the place.

Pretty much. It’s been that way for a while.

Show clearly got worse but the people so invested in it that get so over the top mad about it are hilarious.

First 30 minutes of this was actually very good. Trial scene and small council scene were crap with some bad logic. Then the ending was good and gave satisfactory endings to most characters.

Not great but you’d think it’s the worst episode of television ever made

This is exactly how I feel.

What the feck even was that

You mean you didn’t think it was brilliant writing that Tyrion, a prisoner who had been banished from speaking, anointed Bran the king with an impassioned speech about his wisdom. And then for Bran as his only act as King to come in and say “cool, y’all take care of those details now. Peace!”. And then bounce?

I for one found it pithy, insightful writing.

It was going fine up to and including Dany getting killed. Then all the characters decided they wanted it wrapped up in 20 minutes and did whatever they had to to make that happen.

"Sure, be king, free him, let him live, let her have a kingdom. Just let me leave, for the love of god, let me leave."

Loved how Tyrion went from a prisoner and traitor to the one deciding who should be king all within the same scene.

Also who let Edmure out?

Bran is the real villain in all this. He knew he was going to be king all along. All he had to do was light a fire that caused Dany to snap by revealing Jon’s parentage.

In all seriousness, why didn’t anyone point out Jon is a Targaryen & the rightful ruler?! Wtf was the point of building it up all season when you don’t mention it at the time it’s most relevant!!

So in the year of epic finales we’ve had Endgame (shite), and Game of Thrones, which genuinely make me envy the victim of The Mountains eye gouging. I fear for Star Wars, I really do.

Anyone else find it hilarious that Ser Davos suggested to the Unsullied they settle in empty lands and start their own house? A house they can’t populate because none of them have nuts.

If I was a Star Wars fan I'd be less concerned about JJ Abrams' concluding part of this trilogy and more concerned with the fact that D&D are getting their own Star Wars films. I mean if they thought Rian Johnson was a problem.....

the way Bran accepted it too, like, 'well I didn't come all the way here for no reason'.

Yeah. If the last 2 seasons have been any indication, its that D&D are shit at coming up with their own ideas
