Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I enjoyed it, dont know what you lot are bitching about. The return of Benjen (who it looks like the show are merging wiith another popular character) and the riverlands hotting up again. It was a good setup episode for the rest of the series.

Naughty.

Like get to Oldtowne already and learn interesting stuff.

It was an important scene though.

Wasn't his house the one Sansa and Jon talked about? He has an army that they might be able to call on?

We know they're awkward wankers who might talk the talk and not walk the walk. We also know that Sam now has a sword of valerian steel.

Nah, you're thinking of the Tulleys (The Riverlands). As in Brynden "The Blackfish" Tulley, great uncle to Jon & Sansa, last seen at the Red Wedding. Sam is a Tarley, he visited Hornhill, his home.

Now I'm pretty sure that Bran will have a flashback to the Mad King, whilst Benjen or that crying girl will be surrounded by White Walkers. Fire will be involved as we saw with Benjen, and one of them will be shouting 'Burn them! Burn them all', and having us sit through a Hodor-esque scene once more. Atleast that makes sense in my head...

Average episode.

Too much time given to Sam and Gilly, and that last scene, like most Daneyris scenes, was proper hollywood avengers bullshit.

"hang on, I'll just be back in 15 seconds with a dragon" and give a shit speech with cliched music

Liked bits of it, didn't like others. Good to see Sam stepping up though! Took a nice sword too!

Benjen coming back was underwhelming and very stupid imo.

Was a pretty meh episode in all. Not as good as last week's, but there have definitely been weaker episodes.

Spoiler removed. I posted in the wrong thread - sorry!

Im assuming BristolRuss just talked about a book character there

I liked Sams scene yesterday especially with his dad, and then stealing the sword. Does that mean there are three swords / whitewalker destroyers in play now? One with Brienne? One with Jon and now one with Sam? (Neds one that got split, is that half with Brienne? Cant fully remember what happened to the other half or what it was called)

I had that thought and it does make sense. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yeah that's a book character...

Ice got reforged into Oathkeeper (which Jaime gave to Breinne) and Widow's Wail (Joffrey's sword). Widow's Wail was placed alongside his corps during the funeral.

Ahhh thanks. So Joffreys is still with him buried? (I would check, but kinda dont really want to google GoT if I can avoid it)...

It's definitely the last time we've seen it, so I'd assume it's still with him yeah.

Another boring episode.. it's practically a trend in every season up til episode 7,8,9 &10.

Needs more dragons.

@BristolRuss I'd delete that spoiler and post it in the book thread. No reason why non book readers should know anything about that.

Pretty weak episode. I actually enjoyed the Sam & Gilly stuff for once though.

Dany shouldnt have had the screentime for that utter, utter filler.

The stuff with Bran was....ok. I am never a fan of that sudden "hey we are about to die but someone shows up just in the nick of time", although I was half expecting it anyway.

The Kings Landing stuff was quite good though. It was exactly as Old Woman Tyrell said - the High Sparrow quite simply outplayed them by knowing that controlling the crown was key to the 'battle'.

Edit: Completely forgot about Arya. Bloody ridiculous (although I did speculate more or less this exact outcome for her thus far). I was almost shouting at the TV at her when she knocked the glass out of the womans hand.

Probably the crappiest episode of season 6 so far. FFS when is High Sparrow gonna get his? That smug smirk at the end. Ugh, I don't know who I despise the most, him or Ramsay Bolton. I'd probably say him as Ramsay doesn't hide the fact that he is a complete moron.

Was Margaery really converted or is she playing a game?? I swear that Tommen needs to grow a pair. I haven't read the books but I just knew that was Benjen as he's been missing for a while.

Things just seem to be dragging now. I just hope the Waif doesn't get killed next episode. Think she's great!

Playing a game i'd say given the state she saw her brother in. The problem is that she's a bit fecked because Tommen is a shit King. I think she'll be trying to work out a way to beat the High Sparrow at his own game.

Didn't really mind this week's episode, which is kinda strange as it highlighted two of the storylines that I could give a feck about (Sam & Gilly and the Sparrows). This season finally appears to be making some real progress for multiple characters/storylines.
The way the writers brought back Benjen Stark have me thinking that it's a matter of time before the Hound makes his return. Most likely at a moment when Arya needs bailing out.

Why reply to his spoiler @TitusCrumble? You're just giving more away.

This thread struggles with "no book talk" so badly it's ridiculous.

If the hound comes back it'll probably be to fight the mountain. Cercei's cockiness will surely backfire.

Don't you mean couldn't?

Yup, you could tell when she saw Jaime and the army marching in to put an end to her "atonement walk" that she knew she fecked up.

The OP says put speculation in a spoiler tag, that's what I did? You lot do realise that the show and the books have diverged from each other, only the very ending will be the same? So anything a book reader says probably won't happen?

EDIT: Besides all I did was speculate about their spoiler, I didn't bring the spoiler up itself.

We have never allowed book talk in this thread. You want to discuss the books? Then kindly go to the book thread.

If only I had access to the thread ban hammer.
