Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

What a great episode! The Hodor reveal after 6 seasons of set up was amazing! I agree the whole Bran situation is confusing now. Can he alter the past to affect the future? Or was it just an event which was predetermined to happen regardless? Does Bran need to touch the tree to have flashbacks? If so, it could be the end of the flashbacks.

The whole Sansa story arch has been incredible, after seasons of her being useless she's turning into a great leader. She seems to be more of a leader than Jon Snow at this point who seems to be back to his dithering ways.

Was the play just another test for Arya? I don't think any believes she's going to abandon who she is. It was also ironic how she played her self in the play.

It was actually nice to see Lord Friend zone get some love back from Danny.

Back to Bran, did he learn everything in the time he was touched by the Knights King to when they arrived? Can't wait for the next episode!

Yeah I really wish I hadn't read that spoiler because it seems highly likely that's what will happen. They're kind of pointing in that direction, the only stumbling block is he can't Warg humans yet. I still think/hope that won't happen, but given that Bran would be trying to save his Grandfather in that scene. It wouldn't surprise me if he tried.

Grandfather ? I don't recall the back stabbing incident ever mentioned in too much detail in the show, but who is Bran's grandfather ?

But yeah, it does seem like it's heading in that direction. Bran might think he can change the events of the past by talking some sense to the Mad King (Typical Teenage cockiness I guess), inevitably leading to what we expect. But that sort of story development would take ages, atleast half a season or so, coz they would have to show how sane the mad king initially was before slowly clusterfecking him with inceptiony moments from Bran.

Ned Starks father and brother was executed by the Mad King when they demanded the return of Neds sister Lylana (sp). That's why the entire rebellion started because Ned wanted vengeance and King Rob (fat one) was in love/promised to marry Lylana.

That episode was brilliant, and absolutely heartbreaking.

I'm still not sure about what happened with Hodor, could someone explain in layman's terms?

Oh, I sort of remember that, cheers! And can I say
Fecking Hell. That would be even more tragic if Bran was responsible for it then.. :(.

I hope that it doesn't happen, but knowing the show, that's probably exactly how it's going to happen.

One of the best got episodes ever in my opinion. Anyone who didn't like that ep may as well stop watching it now and save us reading the moaning cause' it don't get much better than that.

Its already in spoilers.

Yes, but you're technically meant to mark them down as spoilers. You also said its a theory that's being touted about the internet and if I'd known that I wouldn't have clicked on it.

I personally don't want to know anything about what other people are saying/been leaked w/e.

Yeah a bit miffed too because I wouldn't have worked it out tbh. So now that shock if/when it does happen will be gone. I hate internet theories so much.

Think i'll probably ask to be threadbanned now.

@damein can you do the honours?
@brewlio if you do have a spoiler free conversation add me will ya?

Ok. I've added a warning in as well.

Fairly sure Brewlios discussion is nhb.

. I hadn't thought so far back until you put the pieces together.

Be kind of fitting if it goes all predestination with Bran now considering the whole thing kicked off with him being pushed out of the window in the very first episode

All speculation about brewlio's convo in spoilers please.

maybe looking too much into this as usual , but what are the chances of the first whitewalker being a descendant of Sam and the Tarlys?? The whitewalkers have pretty much tried to kill everyone in their way but that scene where one of the main ones looks right at Sam and decides to spare him ... Anything in that now ?

I never got that from that scene tbh. Also it looks like whoever the guy was that was tied to the tree is the first whitewalker. So who was that guy?

Essentially when Bran was in the dream state he was kind of flitting between the past and the present & when he warg'd into Hodor he acted as a conduit between past Hodor and present Hodor connecting the two, either the connection fried young Hodor's brain and he is only able to mutter Hodor (Hold the door) as it's the last thing he heard or he experienced first hand his own death through present Hodor and the trauma of that is why he's only able to say Hodor, I'm gonna go with the latter.... Hodor.

the 3 eyes raven says to bran " it's time for you to become me "

Is bran now indeed the 3 eyes raven ??

To be honest I hope they kill bran off soon , time travel is too much to wrap your head around way to many theories and plot holes. It completely ruined lost
