Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

He was telling his mother that he heard about rumors about her and his uncle and if it was true. But the queen however denied those rumors asking him to believe everything he hears. So the simple answer is no, he doesnt know either.

In a previous episode he made a snidey comment to his mother about the rumours Stannis spread but I don't think he believes them.

Thanks, this is what I thought the answer was, but had a little doubt about it. Really hope he does find out in the end, just before they give him a slow and painful death. Arya to stand there and do the bidding

One of the best things about this show is that it can actually make you feel sorry for characters you have previously despised, and almost make you forget about their previous transgression... I had to remind myself that Jamei Lannister and Theon were cnuts.

Very true that!

I slightly feel for Jaime now, that's for sure. I have no sympathy for Theon though, he deserves what is coming to him. Interested to see where that story is going, why the hell is that guy there? All surely to come soon.

Story I'm actually most curious about is the white walkers story? They keep showing one small part of them every season, but never lead up to it. I reckon it could be a huge part of the story later on, but not anytime soon.

For all those saying it was a brilliant episode, can someone tell me how it wasn't just filler?

I struggle to see how anything important happened.

thats 2 episodes now where it has ending with jamie saving her, surely they could have had a better end to this episode

Bit of a shit episode that last one. I'm right up to speed now on the season. They really don't hold back with the whole tits and ass do they?!

I thought they were, cause HBO got lots of complaints about it, but there was plenty of fanny in this episode. Thanks HBO, as always.

Bored of the Theon stuff now. Either tell us what's going on or give more time to Danaerys.

That was another one for the 'meh' camp.

A lot of characters are stuck in a state of perpetual travel. Apart from some character bonding and relationship forming they physically haven't moved on from the end of last season.

Decent episode until the final scene which was brilliant.

Jamie has more honour than I first thought. He's gone from cnut to hero in the space of a few episodes, I really hope he makes it back to Kings Landing. Bolton's a right cnut for betraying Robb. I wonder if Robb will find out he let Jamie go, and if he does, can he really afford to lose Bolton's men too?

Daeneyres is much better this season. More ruthless and assertive than before but she's still showing compassion by freeing slaves, even if she wants them for her army.

I don't care much about Bran's story. Similarly, Robb is starting to bore me. He needs to make a real move towards Kings Landing. I'm interested if the Hound will help Arya or not. He was willing to help Sansa but that may have been because he had a slight crush on her. Hopefully we see the fire people who had taken Arya, I'm intrigued by the guy who can resurrect the dead.

Theon's captor is a crazy bastard

Loved the advice Tyrion got - 'wed one, bed the other'

'Hodor'

Theon's torture, holy shit.

I'm the same with Bran, his is probably the only story in the show that bores me. Ygritte and Jon are a little annoying but I'm interested to see what happens if Jon comes up against some of his old allies.

Tywin is one intimidating bastard.

Sansa and Tyrion, that's going to be interesting.

Jamie, he pushed a child out of a window, so he's a prick. But I now find that child boring, so he's alright.

My favourite moment of the episode was when he stood over Joffrey and said 'we could always arrange to have you carried there'

Can't help but admire the evil bastard.

Charles Dance is great.

I feel Brans story has yet to be started, its quite amazing really that we are into the 3rd season and it feels like half the plots have yet to really kick into life.

he seems an important character to me, and is yet to "spread his wings", so to speak.

All the dreams about the crow and the wolf must mean something, but I dont know how significant it will be.

Ah I think they're a really cute couple. She cracks me up

Ygritte is annoying, she gets some really good lines but the delivery is so forced they always fall flat.

Oona Chaplin's bum is better than her grandfather's.

I can't feel sorry for Theon, I mean I have compassion for the pain he's going through but my god he's a cnut.

Charles Dance was great again.

Bronn needs his own series or something, so underutillised.

The Jaime story is really keeping the show going at the moment. Does he love oafette or is it just a friendship? Will Cersei and Tywin turn him back to his old self if/when he gets back to King's landing. I've got a feeling we may see his cnutish (or perhaps maybe knutish) side before the season is out.

I don't even want to know what Jaime will do with that stump of his to Cersei....

I don't think he will be as big a cnut as he was before this season. Unless I'm mistaken, he chose to go back to save the Man-Beast because it was his lie about the sapphire that prevented her father securing her release. He actually took responsibility for his actions, even if he risked his life. It will be interesting if he does pay his 'debt' and frees Sansa if he gets back to Kings Landing. I think he'll at least try to do so, whether Tywin lets him is a different matter.

I also liked when the doctor treating his wound asked him how many people he had killed and he wasn't able to give a figure but did say he saved the population of Kings Landing. It gives a humane/compassionate side to the 'King Slayer' whose duty was to the King but he chose to break that and save the population. They're doing a great job making me like Jamie this season, whereas before I was hoping Robb's wolf would eat him.

I do, and I hope they show it

Yup he certainly seems to have grown a conscience this season. Well a Lannister always pays their debt apparently so I think he will at least try and free Sansa, but with his father and sister manipulating him it'll be interesting to see whether his new found good guy can win out.

If he does go against Tywin over Sansa I wouldn't expect him to get any mercy from his father which could really accelerate a plot by Cersei and Tyrion to get rid of dear ol' pop which i'm expecting as the weddings draw nearer.

That's if Joffrey just doesn't kill everyone in a crossbow sex party before any of this can happen of course.

I think we also must realise that Jaime's story is one of the most severe. I'm pretty sure I heard in an episode that he's been captive for over a year now. But to also lose his hand and form a bond of friendship/romance with Man-Beast (can't ever remember her name) it seems to be changing him for the better. He's opening himself up, the Lanister shields are dropping and he seems to be trying to change himself to be a better, noble man.

I think Jaime sees Brienne as the knight he wishes he could have been, before he was forced to kill Aerys and was tainted by the title 'Kingslayer'. He admires her for being a talented fighter and for being so devoted to her oaths.

After killing Aerys he internalised what people were saying about him and played to it as a way of dealing with being hated. I think his one major weakness in life was being in love with his twin sister (who is actually a nasty person).

Btw, anyone still wanting to argue that Sansa is 'worldwise'? She might go on to become a strong independent person, I don't know, but for the moment she's still a silly girl who dreams of a gallant knight carrying her off in his arms.
