Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Feck sake, won't mention since we're on a new page and people may have been fortunate to miss it but feck sake.

Fecking book shite.

Actually Aldo's been thread banned too.

Please tag me in here whenever someone who's read the books says something that is spoilery or even slightly beyond what's been in the show and I'll thread ban them. It's the most simple solution. We have our own thread anyway.

Yeah I think the marrying of magic in this series is a little jarring. Like people die who can clearly be brought back to life when it suits the writing. I know that's obvious to say, and magic is only just really returning because of the dragons, but that other priest was always bringing back the guy with the flaming swords before the dragons came back, so magic is clearly there. (I apologise for forgetting the names )
I remember when i first saw the dragons hatch i was like "what the hell?" - guess I should've known from the first episode with white walkers that things could get magicky. Still, its fairly limited.

You should ban him from the book thread too so as to sway book readers from spoiling in future, knowing both can be taken from them.

Think we'll start seeing a lot more magic soon though. Bran's storyline is full of it and we'll see what happens with him next season.

Only thing bothering me about this series is where are the white walkers, they were supposed to be right behind the wildlings were they not?

I had completely forgotten about Bran.

No. They reside in the land of always winter. Which is most likely hundreds of miles north of the wall.

But the army of dead people who the white walkers seem to bring back to life, they were walking towards the wall behind the wildlings? My dad could walk it faster and he needs a zimmer frame.

I think what he's trying to say is that "winter has been coming" for a hell of a long time.

I think Danerys needs to unleash the dragons on that town I reckon. That'll learn em.

Jon Snow is toughening up too which I like. Nothing particularly memorable has happened yet but I've enjoyed the first four episodes this season. I just hope it doesn't take all 10 episodes for Tyrion to get to Mereen either.

I'm going to assume RS did too then. Makes me feel better about not quite getting it all together

Sorry to disappoint Lambs but I avoid spoilers/theories like the plague. Im just a fan of the show. This has been the 3rd time ive rewatched seasons 1 to 3. I am starting to read the books (half way through book 1).

I play the Game of Thrones board game! That should indicate my geekness levels!

Shhh this might get you thread banned.

Will be interesting to see how far Brans mind powers extend. Didnt he control Hodo? Could he control a dragon? White Walker?

As @Redlambs has said tho, magic kind of puts you in a corner where there is potentially an easy way out of everything.

Definitely.

Also to clarify considering this thread exploded when I was asleep. I havent read the wiki, I used the tv GoT one in S1 so I knew who was who. I dont read spoilers/theories.

Im not your usual casual viewer as I have rewatched the show a fair bit. Hence last season it was obvious Stannis would arrive at the wall and some caftard thought I was a book reader for knowing that. Despite it being the cliffhanger point of the final episode of S3.

Chill man, you've said you don't so you don't. Everyone is much more likely to believe you than a clown like Aldo ;)

I had to google who that was... He's still alive then is he? Absolutely no memory of what happened to him.

Bran left him behind with that wildling, Osha. That's what I remember at least.

Book readers get so defensive and try to prove everything is not book speculation despite their theories being elsewhere. Madness.

Brilliant.

Im interested too with regards to Bran. I honestly think this will all come full circle and the Stark children will rise (well those who remain)

Bran told Osha to bring him to the Umbers at the end of season 3.

"If something happens to us, you're the heir to Winterfell."

That could throw a spanner in Littlefinger's plans.

The Stark kids have always felt like they would be important to the story, except Sansa. Although she now seems more interesting.

Ah yea, it's all coming back to me now, cheers. That episode feels like a long time ago now.

What can we actually post then? I'm afraid I might get thread banned, and I'm just a casual viewer of the show.

Yeah, Sam encountered them, and has been back at the Wall for ages now.

Something about this season doesn't feel right, I dunno if the acting has turned subpar or if there is something wrong with the dialogue. I mean wdf was that Sand Snake on about "One day Oberyn took me to court" lalala and then she threw a spear through that guys head?

Yeah that was a bit of a WTF moment

I think that it was supposed to show how much Oberyn's family loved him and want to avenge his death, the fierce women in the family anyway. I think she said how Oberyn had encouraged and inspired her to fight with a spear and then demonstrated her proficiency with said weapon.

It was cheesy though and turned me off the characters.
