Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

Actually its a bit of both, our better players are both overrated by some and underrated by others and the majority of our squad players in general are just underrated eg.. Sagna, Otamendi. Except Bravo, calling him shit is overrating him.

Player is either best or shit, no middle ground.

I wanted him here, was hoping we would have landed him. I hope he doesn't adapt obviously, but he looks the business and the fee was ridiculously small

No, exactly the same imho and we won't see the best of him this season either. He'll not replace Aguero in the short term, I think he'll compete with Sane for the right mostly next season with Sterling/Silva on the left.
Anyone who thinks he's going to come in replace Aguero and turn our season around is raving imho.

I think that is how he should be used. Of course he could be thrown into the deep end and he may score a couple of goals. But that won't do his development any good when he eventually hits a barren patch.

He seems like a talented player, but when was the last time a young Brazilian made it in the PL?

Are the Man City fans expecting him to be more accomplished player than Sane?

He has a higher ceiling than Sane in my opinion. Sane has 2 years of development more than him so it's a bit difficult to compare right now.

If I had to keep only one, it would be Jesus.

That can easily spun another way and I could say that, while I'm prepared to acknowledge that we've under-achieved on the trophy front since the takeover, City have still won more PL titles in the last 5 full seasons than any other club in England and for all our shit results of late, he's joining a completely different club with far better prospects going forward than the one Robinho joined back in 2008.

Well yeah but it's easy to pick and choose a time period to suit your argument.
I could easily counter it and say Chelsea have won more than you in the last 7 years, or United in the last 10 years, or Leicester in the last 2 years.
Like I said, it doesn't make what I said any less true.

100% but thats why stats are great we can twist them how we like to suit our own agenda.
For example we've won 6 trophies since the 1st of Jan 2011. 4 major trophies over 6 years is hardly a poor haul in such a competitive league.

In terms of english trophies since 2010-11 we've won double the amount of anyone else with 6. United are next with 3, Chelsea 3, Arsenal 2 and a few others with 1.

Excluding league cup we're still the most successful side in domestic competitions during that time. Given people in the Pep thread are harking on about how english football is so competitive and can never be a one horse race thats hardly a failure.

I hope he does well for the sake of world football but with the acclimatizing he has to do added to his debut it will be interesting. If Vertonghen went through him on his debut and he gets treated "rough" it will take a big character to get back up from that, because he will have a bad game which leads to the media being on his back etc. etc.
One player won't make a difference in world football so wishing him well is simply wishing City well.
So long as he stays healthy he'll play football somewhere no matter how he does and he'll get paid handsomely.

I didn't say it was a failure, but the quote from Jesus was City are "used to winning titles" given you've won 2 since you won the lottery, and 4 in your entire history, that's just marketing speech he was probably made to say, because it's not true.

We could discuss semantics and whether due to the language barrier "titles" meant "trophies" in general, sure but in terms of major trophies you've only won one FA Cup and 2 PL titles. In the same time frame United have won exactly the same amount, but we're in the middle of a huge transition.

You're choosing to include the League Cup and Community shield in City's totals but not anybody else's, so technically United tied with 6 (2 PL, 1 FA Cup, 3 Community Shield).

This is what I mean by manipulating stats to suit your argument. You're not the most successful side in domestic competitions, we've won the exact same amount as you in that time.

"Massive club", "long history"

Now it's clearer than ever that he's chosen the wrong Manchester club.

He certainly had the choice. You tried to snatch him away with a higher bid at the 11th hour but were given a "no thanks".
Don't know how this will turn out but if he clicks that fee will look like chickenfeed in a few years time.

How do you know?

Plenty of posters on here got excited when it seemed he may be giving United serious consideration.

And Vidal was one of the longest threads in history based on talksport and the express and all that shite. Your point?

I think it was pretty obvious this summer that Jose had a list and that list was fulfilled, there was not going to be any 11th hour desperation attempts for any player.

An appropriate term given the eggs being laid by your collective of cocks!

Sorry I accidentally added our cs by accident but my point remains valid.
I didn't include community shield cause it's a friendly and I included everyone's league cups. League cup is a proper cup like any other.

Also my point was anyone can use stat's to back up any argument.

You can make a case that because it didn't happen we didn't want him anyway. You also missed out on Renato Sanches didn't you? Suppose he wasn't on Jose's list either?

A different set of sources for this one. Guess they're all lying or clueless too?

Strong lineup. They've been playing well, curious to see if they have built up enough momentum to overcome the Anoeta curse

Most relevant post in here. I concur.

Jose said he got the 4 players he wanted, our club has enough leaks to sink the titantic so if United being in for Jesus wasn't widely reported then it probably isn't true.
The same way we weren't in the reported in the battle for Stones or Sane. Feck even Otamendi.
It's all nonsense to sell papers or serve the City propaganda machine

Just ask yourself @Gentleman Jim, what date did Sanches join Bayern & what was United's management situation at the time. You'll work it out. ;)

As I say, it was very obvious Jose had a specific list of 4 and the club paid whatever they had to in order to secure those.

Considering 2 of those were attackers & certain starters once adjusted to England and another was an AM, you can be certain he wasn't after another at that point.
