Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

Nah. Unless goal poachers get you aroused.

Give me Rashford any day. Much more to his game.
Lol mate. Mate. Just watch this. Ignore his goals, pay close attention to everything else.

If he's not even confident enough to start weight bearing whilst shopping he really is out for the season.

If he was recovered and starting to get his fitness back there would be no need for the mobility scooter.

He's already back in training with the ball. This mobility picture was taken a long time ago.

I have watched him in England.

United fans always under appreciate what they have. Typical.
How the feck has my post been turned into an underappreciated of our players? I've not even mentioned any of our players. All I said was that Jesus isn't just a poacher.

I was just speaking generally.

United fans saying he's the biggest young talent in the league whilst taking for granted our own.

This was the initial post
One of the most exciting talents in the league. Hope he recovers soon.
There's nothing wrong with that statement.

You think he's got a higher ceiling than Rashford?

I haven't seen enough of him to compare him to Rashford. I know what Rashfords faults are but I don't know Jesus' and nor do I know how he reacts to a slump in form. His first few games for City were immense though and transformed a side that was struggling for form.

What I can say is that his potential is massive and he's one of the best teenagers in Europe, in the same bracket as Mbappe, Rashford, Neves, Tielemans, Donnarumma, Pulisic for me.

No doubt he's a talent. I think he's proved far less than Rashford at the moment though.

I do, I also think Leroy Sane has a higher ceiling than Rashford

I think we massively underrate Rashford on the forum and forget how old he is. He's been fantastic for both club and country. Jesus still has alot to do but no doubt he's talented. Sane is further along I agree.

He's played 203 minutes though TR and managed to score 3 goals and 1 assist in the Premier League. Also 5 goals in 6 Senior Brazil appearances.

There's no way you can prove that second sentence at all given that Jesus has barely played before getting that long term injury. It's a pretty empty statement all things considered.

I guess you're right. Rashford is more PL proven and has done in against the top club's. I'll be interested to see how Jesus gets on but you can't help but feel we have a tendancy on the Caf to overrate every player but our own.

I think the opposite. We have a tendency to overrate our players based on feck all game time as they go through a purple patch of form. Not saying that's the same for Rashford, he's the real deal.

But i've had countless arguments with people in the past who's stoked up players to something they aren't.

I think we underrate;

Mata
Rashford
Pogba
Valencia
Lingard

I agree with your general point that it's easy for fans to overrate opposition & underrate their own - but the statement about proving far less than Rashford is probably a poor choice.

He led Brazil to an Olympic gold medal, won the title for Palmeiras, became Brazil's top scorer for the year in just the last few months of the year & then turned City's form around in his brief spell on the pitch.

He's had an incredibly productive season that's proved a fair bit for such a young guy. Rashford is indeed more weathered in the PL though & seemed to find his feet again last game after a bit of a dip this season; think there is plenty of young talent for both sides which should make for interesting battles to come.

Nah. Unless goal poachers get you aroused.

He's not a poacher in the sense i think you guys use to define average players with good stats.
We agree that Mbappe is a brilliant player. 19 of his 22 goals were typical of a "poacher".

Gabriel was a skilful winger/second striker in the youth level and in his first months with Palmeiras.
Then he changed to be more 9.
He's smart, probably saw that trying to impress the public and scoring less goals will not put food in the table.
CR7 did the same in a highest level.

He show contraditory signals.
He will have performances typical of wc players, then many games as a goal scorer.
But he's never inconsistent when we talk about impact in the games or even about his talent level.

Now sorry for the ad hominem but,
Dude what da...is "THE RELIGION"???
An English? American? German? Italian? Spaniard???
Of course you are not Brazilian, then if you are not Argentinian too, you never saw a REAL top top player developing....you dont know how they play when they are 19, 22, 25...you can't say nothing about this subject.
Stop pretending you know what you are talking about.
I saw Edmundo/Juninho Pernambucano/Djalminha/Roberto Carlos/Cafu/Bebeto/Romario/Kaká/Adriano/Neymar/Ronaldo Nazario/Ronaldinho/Rivaldo...
Who are you to say that a BRAZILIAN player will not be wc?

Of course is a internet forum and you have your opinion.
But you simple dont have the tools to say that a player you saw few times is not wc.
You just dont know about these things(of course).
I read some of you trashing Pogba...you guys know NOTHING.

Strange vid to post in order to prove your point? I think the lad is top class and has a lot more to his game than what we've seen so far, but that was a proper number 9 poachers performance in that vid.
I don't think he is a poacher, though. I said from the start that Iheanacho would never be anything more than a poacher if he didn't improve his first touch, he hasn't so he's on his way out. He'll be replaced by Gabriel who's good with the ball, gets involved in build-up play, is strong enough to hold the ball up and has enough skill and awareness to finish the chances we've been missing all season.

Rashford is younger and higher ceiling for me.

If he was Brazilian the world would be raving about him.
The world is raving about Rashford. He's clearly a brilliant talent and everyone recognises that.

How do you know if Jesus only played for 200 minutes and scored like thrice already?

Come on, don't pretend you watched him in Brazilian league.

Make innocuous comment, someone replies with a stupid post, people call me out on the stupidity, goes on to make outrageous claims that no one has mentioned, then you have to argue against that nonsense...

When it comes to young players a lot depends on the system they'll play in and they stay injury free. In Europe many of these players have huge potential, but one bad injury can mess up their career.

Gundo/Reus are prime examples brilliant footballers, but injuries have a done a number on them, still a chance to overcome the (like Robben).

This

Yeah but last season City fans were also telling us Kelechi also has a higher ceiling than Rashford. That turned out well. I haven't seen Jesus play at all with City, but Rashford is in one of the best young talents in the world.

Not every player that comes out of the Campeonato Série A in Brazil is actually IT. A league that in comparison to the pace & rough and tumble of the Premier League is played at walking pace.

Lets see what Jesus is like in the Premier League for at the very least 3/4 months first.

Until then it's a pure waste of time talking about him.

People are seriously comparing Rashford to Gabriel Jesus?

Jesus is Brazil's number 9 already while Rashford is currently behind Defoe and Vardy for one of the worst England sides of all-time. Until a couple of weeks ago he hadn't scored a league goal in over six months.

This isn't even a slight on Rashford. The kid's definitely got potential but Jesus is a nailed on future world class player

I agree.

If we were talking about Rashfordinho who United had purchased from Vasco for 20m people on the Caf would be praising him as the next Pele, granted some would argue he needs to bulk up and "won't make it here".

He's good but the main reason I would've loved him joining us is to say Jesus plays for the (Red) Devils.

And who is exactly Jesus's competition for Brazils striker position? No one thats who.

Roberto Firmino has replaced him since his injury and I'm pretty sure he would get into an England team ahead of Vardy or Defoe.

Jesus has already scored 5 goals in 6 caps for the national team in the highest standard qualification stage in international football. I find the idea that Rashford would be capable of the same thing highly improbable.
