Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal

Surprised City only went for a player named after an archangel and a son of God. Was sure they'd make a bid for God God.

We only sign players for £200k+ a week though. God plays for free, much like Rooney. Has anybody ever seen god and Rooney in the same room?

Yes, if you include seeing Rooney eating a burger imprinted with an uncanny resemblance of Jesus.

Looks great so far, mind you so do many players. Let's see what he is doing this time next year before calling him the messiah..

Pep nicked his watermelon simile when talking about Gabby Jesus from Mourinho.

"You never know. It's like a watermelon. You have to open to see if it's good or not." [Pep, last night]

"Young players are a little bit like melons. Only when you open and taste the melon are you 100 per cent sure that the melon is good. Sometimes you have beautiful melons but they don’t taste very good and some other melons are a bit ugly and when you open them, the taste is fantastic… One thing is youth football, one thing is professional football. The bridge is a difficult one to cross and they have to play with us and train with us for us to taste the melon." [Jose Mourinho, a few years ago]

"Taste my melon" [Ian Holloway, possibly]

Looked great alongside Sane & Sterling with De Bruyne behind him.

If only Jose would drop Zlatan & do the same with Martial & Rashford.

You sure do ;)

They talk so hip but they're twisting their melons man

Awful header. Should have cost his team the win.

Would be dropped and made to play as a lwb under Jose.

He's gonna be a good 'un. Nothing 'jammy' about being in the right position for tap ins.

still too early to say how he will go but he's obviously very talented

Could become world class.

Making me miss Rashford upfront. There was never any harm with building for the future. Oh well.

I don't know what he was trying with that attempt. No need to move every limb when going for a free header

4 games, 3 goals and 1 assist. I mean what more do people want! He's had an excellent start and looks a brilliant prospect.

He's been pretty good, but the way he's been hyped up has been absolutely ridiculous.

The commentators were jizzing themselves with every touch he took, to the point where at the end of the game one of them even said "look at that smiling face" at the end of the game.

Something to be said about having the knack Of being in the right place at the right time, but the wankfest is indeed overboard. Tap ins.

Wait a full season before he's declared a top player. Super talent.

Watching this lad shine makes me wish Mourinho would put more faith in Rashford up front over Ibra on occasion and give Martial more starts.

City were pathetic in the second half except Jesus who was constantly on the move.

I don't think anyone has said anything more than that he looks an exceptional talent, which he does.

Mourinho has given them enough chances and they have only got themselves to blame for lack of composure and poor finishing. They have only scored 2 goals each in PL ffs. Gabriel Jesus has outscored both of them in 150 mins of PL football.
