GAA 2017

Full credit to Tipp & Galway for providing an unbelievable experience yesterday. The passion, the physicality, the skills, the atmosphere, the fighting with every Tipp supporter within 10 yards of me, the speed of the whole thing. I'm certain that can't be matched in any other sport.

Over the moon with the win, you couldn't have wrote it any better with the way it finished, Cannning was a centimetre away from the end of his career this time last year, yesterday he scored the winning point from a position and situation that only he would even attempt to try with only seconds on the clock. He truely is a phenomenal athlete and person. A national treasure.

I'm going to enjoy the build up to and the All-Ireland final now and pray to God every night that This Actually is Galways year.

Something needs to be done with the football championship and the super 8's are not the solution.

There is the big four Dublin, Tyrone, Kerry and Mayo, then a big gap, then the likes of ourselves, Monaghan, Galway, Roscommon and Kildare, with not a lot between each other and then below that again the weak counties like Wicklow etc.

No-one gets any enjoyment from days like today but at least the two semi-finals have got the 4 best teams in them and should be two absolute crackers.

Fair play til ya's. Cracker of a game between two superb teams and fair play to Canning what a fecking score. Not many would have the confidence to go for that especially after not having the best of a game and missing a brave few scoreable frees.

Going to be a real Special All-Ireland Final this year now. Hair's standing on the back of my neck even thinking about it.

Interesting to see what happens with Gleeson now this week. I personally don't want him cited but he'll have a tough one trying to prove he didn't mean it after.

Belter on the way. The tension is going to be unreal.

Gleeson should be banned, it was much worse than what Dr Burca did.

I really hope he gets away with it though, having the 2 best players in the country going against each other in the final would be nice to see.

He won't run through the Galway backs like that. Gerry McInerneys young lad Gearoid will do what he done to Maher, rattle the living shite out of him. Cork backs were terrible yesterday. They gave Waterford way to much time and space. Brick Walsh had time tie his laces if he needed too before he buried that first goal.

I haven't been following these suspension cases for the hurling too much, but I'd prefer to see the two best teams in the country go head to head at full strength, the Gleeson vs Canning show.

Massive game on Sunday now, can't wait for it. We haven't beaten Kerry in the championship in years, but I reckon we'll have a good crack off them on Sunday.

I'm expecting a surprise or two in selections, but the key part for me is that Keegan should mark Moran at midfield, get him running in the wrong direction and disrupt his game while also cutting off supply to the Kerry inside line. Sounds so simple.

After all is said and done, I don't fancy this Kerry team half as much as others seem to, they are too weak in the full back and half back lines for me. Galway barely kicked up a fuss in the quarter yet created piles of goal chances, and their two corner forwards scored 9 points between them, which is worrying for Kerry.

Tight game, Mayo to squeeze through for me.

Ready for the David Clifford show here in the minor game. Should be two good battles today and will be interesting to see how Mayo react to the Donaghy threat.

This is mighty stuff. Mayo should have had 3 goals.

We're bottling it abit now. Handing Kerry soft frees and not taking our chances. We'll conspire to feck this up as we always do. Probably after a replay.

Great excitement, but Kerry were quite poor today. Having said that, Mayo failed to put them away and Keegan was exceptionally quiet for his standards.

Massive weekend lads, will be two cracking close games between obviously the best 4 teams in the country. Predictions?

I'd say Mayo by one or two, unless they completely bottle it(again), as Kerrys full back line is a combination of shite and badly exposed by tactics, and Mayos inside forwards are superb. As for Sunday, as long as Dublin don't get a pile of soft frees, I reckon Tyrone by 4.

Hoping for a good one again today, I didn't really expect it last week to be honest as I thought the quality shown in the Roscommon match would be a flash in the pan for this Mayo side this year, and that cute hoors Kerry would just be too much for them in a real crunch match.

Fully expect them to lose today though, much as I want them to win the championship this year. Not even us in the hurling are as bad as them for blowing it when they have the opportunity to push on and win - even with 14 against Galway this year they should never have lost that match with the chances they threw away near the end.

Kerry backline were comical in that first half last week though.

Keep an eye out for my

'Galway have the Fight'
'Deise have their Shite'

Banner next week.

Took me a week to come up with that one.

Brains....I've brains to burn.
