Love the optimism! But Galway are the Mayo of hurling.
Not to sure what part of the country you're from but going by what you've said in this thread so far, I'm delighted you've said that.
Jaysus Dublin were very poor yesterday.
Having said all that, Mayo were awful for 60 minutes, and Dublin's lack of discipline kept them in it despite Dublin being way on top. Connolly is a big loss and Cluxton losing the run of himself is a worrying throwback. Lost his head against Fermanagh too. No idea why mayo took so long to push up on the kickouts
I understand the logic, and they're trying to play intelligently, but in my opinion they should have made the switch a few minutes earlierBecause the space it would have created would allow Dublin to play football. Donegal did it too. It's not parking the bus as much as taking the key out and fecking it away.

Aye, O Carroll was a big loss. The bastick one was his own fault though.
On the Dublin penalty, for me that's a black card and a free kick. I can understand him giving a penalty given how close it was and his poor positioning, but surely that's a black card offense.
Ha! I'm from Galway! Brought up through the era of "small, fast but fragile forwards" and heartbreaking defeats since 1988.. brought up with an abiding hatred of Tipp, which made last weekend great.
Wow. Just watched it on the RTE player. That was the Cluxton horror show. Does not look composed; he was very lucky it was wasn't even worse. Some nasty stuff from Dublin. I don't like Mayo particularly, but only their mothers could love the Dubs, far too much cynical stuff, trying to injure people, pretending to be injured. People saying the first half was a bad match but I found it fascinating. Gaelic is going through an interesting tactical phase. Mayo need to take their chances.
Hmm, I take your point ... I was never a fan of the super defence stuff, but this match was tactically interesting and the second half was super exciting. Passing skills/movement have improved immensely and they are playing at a sizzling pace on the counter. Like it or not the game is evolving and will never go back to the old ways, methinks.I think it's fair to say now that football is going through a phase now where it won't be winning over to many new followers. The last few Championships has'nt threw up that many what you'd call end to end crackers, this years championship entertainment wise has being nothing but pure tripe. Sad thing to say and nothing left of it only a semi final replay and the final.
Alright if you're into tactics and statistics in a big way or playing footballing manager games but lets be honest the vast majority of GAA supporters aren't. Not many of the neutral GAA fans (majority of the country including myself) that love to sit back, put the feet up on a Sunday and watch the match on the telly will be gone on the shite gaelic football has served up in the last few years.
