Not the worst draw for ourselves, hopefully should be able to get over the Longford Hurdle and if we can't then we have no place in the Championship anyway!

We'll done London, suppose they have a decent chance against Waterford! Can they win 2 games in the one season?

Terrible decision by the ref.

To be honest I thought it was harsh at the game and on the tv. My old man who was sat beside me was looking at Brogan as he began his run and he said at the time, before the whistle, that he was pulled. He reckons by the tv shots alone it was not a foul, but he says he saw a foul at the game. He's annoyingly fair to watch a game with so I take his word.

And I have no sympathy for Kildare, a half a game against 14 men; get ta feck.

Did yis see the cover of the Irish News? Who the feck cares enough about a ladies match to knock a referee and county chairman out???

True, Dublin completely controlled the game even when down to14 men, there was definitely some sort of contact on Brogan for that last gasp free, he was ahead of his man and favourite to win the ball but was knocked off his stride, he is not a dirty player who looks for frees.

Great game all the same, the most intensive of the championship so far. Hard luck to the Lilets.

you doing another accumulator??

Just like to spare a thought for Clare hurling legend Ger Loughnane who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Congrats to all the winners over the weekend... and stay well clear of Irwins match-predictions :D

Wasnt that confident of a Tyrone win but we started off very well & then our finishin & decision-makin went to shit. We should have been cruising at more than one stage, but fair play to Donegal they kept goin & look very hard to beat, defensively sound as the match wore on. Best of luck in the Ulster Final - that'll be a tough one against Derry, should be a good match tho!

I hope Ger Loughnane beats this, one of the most passionate men involved in the GAA today, i do love listening to his hurling punditry.

Not that there is many if any hurling fans on here (mainly Ulster Football fans!) but a great win for Galway this evening, coming out with 17 points to spare against Clare. Joe Canning once again the star of the show, scoring one of the if not thee goals of the season as well as one of his trade mark sideline cuts that went straight over the bar, fantastic player & best hurler in the country imo.

Whatya on about man, there's plenty of hurling fans on here, folk are just football fans first & foremost, and the majority are from outside Ulster. Its not our fault we tend to post a bit more than others. There used to be loads on the Gaa threads over the years, masses of pages. Its gone quiet, but the ol'skool like Decotron, PJ, Name Changed etc (too many to mention but check the threads in a search), still chip in. Baz has been quiet, but he's up to his neck with his business so he doesnt post as much in general, as is alot of the lads! I have to say tho, that many dont post on here due to football bein a tad less attractive to watch than it used to be & dont start blamin Tyrone for that ye bollox ye :D Oh, and great play by Joe too, he's an awesome player & always love watchin him - not thru his bathroom windie either :-)

I'm an Ulsterman living in Galway. Always follow Monaghan in football, but have always been a fan of Galway hurlers, even before I came to Galway. I was on the canal end in 1980 when Joe Connolly lifted the McCarthy cup & Joe Mc Donagh( ex-GAA President) famously sang "the West's awake"!

1 point in it. 5 mins left. Kerry have fallen apart this half.
Only 3 points this half.

Cork just hit the post. Disgusted I dont have a tv in here at work. Kerry Radio hard to bloody follow

Great battle here.
5 mins injury time of which there are 2 left.
Kerry just got a point. Cork need a goal now.
Gooch booked

That 1st half is as good as Kerry have played since we spanked Dublin in the quarters in '09.

I thought we were letting the game slip away in the 2nd, though. Good point from Brosnan towards the end just when we needed it.

With Galvin still to come back we're in good shape for the Championship.

Kerry are the favourites but I have a feeling Dublin will push hard for the Sam this year.

Hang on, you claimed metropolitan status when accused of being a lilywhite; what's going on now?

Well, I've supported them since I was a kid as my dad's from Kerry and I was brought up going to Kerry matches.

The Dublin hurlers were brought back down to earth with a bang in the Leinster Final with a 4-17 t0 1-15 trashing by Kilkenny on Sunday. Back door for the Dubs now.

Galway v Cork (knockout) next Saturday evening below in Limerick, should to be a cracker of a game particularly if Galway bring the form they showed when demolishing Clare last Saturday.

Nobody cares man - sure we're only Ulster football fans on here :smirk:

I know, i'm just keeping ye in the loop. I might convert some of ye yet!

A Hurler's Prayer

Grant me, O Lord, a hurler's skill
With strength of arm and speed of limb,
Unerring eye for the flying ball
And courage to match them whate'er befall.
May my aim be steady, my stroke be true,
My actions manly, my misses few;
And no matter what way the game may go
May I part in friendship with every foe.
When the final whistle for me is blown
And I stand at last at God's judgment throne,
May the great referee when he calls my name,
Say, "You hurled like a man; you played the game''

ULSTER FOOTBALL PRAYER

May my fistpass by square and true
May my punch land on you
May I never play silky football
May I trip my opponents till they fall
I will mever use a kickpass
'Puke football' they say, alass
They know nothing of the game of men
Ulster will reign again!!

I think we all enjoy the game, just have a bigger interest in football. I know for one, that i cant take up every Summer weekend watchin sport, when i spend the rest of the year doin exactly that with United etc.. Its a balance thing!
