Gaa 2010

In fairness I posted this before the draw :D

I dont know what to expect from Kerry..it does depend on their midfield form, but we are in good form its whether we can maintain it!

I'd generally root for all Ulster teams, but the Missus is from Kerry & she'll kill me if I support Down. I'll be secretly cheering scores from Down tho...

Best of luck oul son, i've a funny feeling you'll do it - might take a replay tho...

None of you need worry your pretty little heads about All Irelands this year, the Kildare juggernaut is unstoppable. At least until 4 o'clock on Sunday. Mother of god please don't let us lose to Meath, anyone but Meath. I'll even push my own mother down the stairs if we can beat Meath

I thought you were a Dub? We can't be e-friends any more.

Yeah I'm a Dub, but my Dad's from Kerry and he brought me to countless games as a young lad so I stuck with them. Still like seeing Dublin do well, mind.

My predictions for the weekend:
Kerry v Down - Kerry to win by 5 points.
Dublin v Tyrone - Tyrone by 3.
Roscommon v Cork - Cork by a point.
Meath v Kildare - Kildare by 2.

Havent been visiting this thread nearly enought this year. Went to the Dubs vs Wexford and saw a patchy performance. Missed all the next few matches for some reason or another but saw the Louth game and they looked quite decent in that their getting used to their system and some young lads are finding form. A big performance will be required from Cullen, The Brogan Continuim and our full back line if we are to stand a chance. I still think Tyrone have another Championship left in them though. Tyrone by a couple of points for me and I'll have to put up with the neighbours putting out the red and white buntings again.............grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just the one - because its a team of geriatrics???

I'm not diggin at you Stick, but this makes my laugh tbh. Brian Dooher is 34, McCullagh is 32 & a few - Gormley, O'Neill, McGinley, Jordan, Muggsy, McGuigan & Hughes are under or on the 30 mark. Folk seem to think the whole squad is over the hill. Since when was 30 over the hill anyway. The older lads dont always play aswell. Seany Cavanagh is still only 27 & then you have the rest of the lads in their early - mid 20's... This isnt 1980 where players were pissed up every weekend during the Championship. They're alot fitter & disciplined than those days & can continue playin at Championship level well into their 30's like Dooher!

There's a great mix of youth & experience in the squad & i am baffled why folk continuously write us off year after year just because some of them have been around for about 10 years or more - Minor, U-21 & Senior levels. For starters its not the same team as 2003 - some folk just cant get away from that myth :wenger::wenger:

Just the 1 I think RHD. I've followed your lads and the admired the brand of football you play for the last 10 years. The rush defense with some great footballers in Gormley and Dooher. Kavanagh is an excellent ball winner initially in the middle of the park and now up top and can take a point from anywhere. A few of the best forwards in the country in O'Neill and Canavan.

I don't think its the age of the lads that's the issue here but the mileage on the clock and the serious injuries shipped by important players. I know it was smoke and daggers but didn't O'Neill retire due to injury a while back and he's struggling a bit this year. Dooher and McGuigan both have shipped big injuries. While the one thing about Tyrone and their ethos is that the team is only as good as the sum of its parts you can't help but feel that if you remove some key parts the team will start to slow down.

I know that you've heard it all before and you're sick of folk writing you off but I really don't see Dooher, O'Neill or McMenamin continuing if you win another all Ireland and those lads would be tough to replace. I don't know much about your youth set up either so you may have the players to come through but I find that like you describe the best teams come almost completely through Minor/U21 to senior almost as a complete unit adding a couple of older heads and impressive lads along the way.

That said I still think you'll be there or there abouts over the next few years but I think that this Tyrone side is gearing up for one more big push and I'll look forward to seeing you lifting Sam next year.............

Anyone know if Much of that Down team have come up from the Minors in 2005? They'll have alot of self belief if they did and McCartan is a shrewd operator

Cork by a point.

Yeah right. Cork by a point and 6 goals maybe!!

I'm basing my prediction on the fact that they were so poor against Limerick and a lot of their players looked sluggish.

But my predictions on sport are usually shite, so Roscommon will probably win by 12 points.

Wounds licked, hopefully starting to heal, it was a horendous 7 day's for us Farney folk!....time to move on !

As I previously posted, after watching Tyrone's Ulster final performance, I can't see anybody stopping them, they will have too much craft for an improving Dubs team.

While I would love to see the Rossies beat the Rebels, Cork will win by whatever score they desire.

Both Meath & Kildare are no strangers to this QF stage. The Flourbags are obviously improving, Meath may have some "baggage" still, so I opt for the Flourbags!

Probably the most interesting game! Kerry obvious favs, but they have NEVER beaten Down in the Championship . Down are coming in seriously under the radar ( they were my pre-chmpshp " dark horses").
As well as being a very good team, they are even more famously a "Croke Pk. team".
It would not surprise me, if Down won or even went to a replay.
However, as much as I would love to see Down win, Kerry craft & general "cute whoreism" will probably sneak it & break Down's record!

Cork by a point.

Could be tighter than that oul son. The Rossies are improving - bout fecking time aswell. They won the All-Ireland Minor a few years ago & from what I hear, they've been baskin in that glory ever since.

The Connaught title has pushed them on from that Minor win & just like when United won the Carling Cup the year before we won the League back from Chelsea - it breeds confidence & ultimately gives them belief that they can continue to progress!

My good friend is a die-hard Rossie fan & so is her family. The County is Football crazy also, so i'd love it if they give Cork a right good go. Hand on my heart I cant see anything other than a Cork win & if we get past Dublin - then i get my wish that I held from last years All-Ireland Semi - another slap at Cork. Only this time we wont be chokin nor relying on the ref to officiate the game properly!

No Retreat - No Surrender

Up Down!

Up Down!

Looks like Kerrys flag about to be lowered by down, RHDs better half wont be pleased

I called this earlier in week and told many Down lads they would touble Kerry.

Delighted for them

Good start by the Dubs but Tyrone coming back into it now.

C'mon te feck

Stick it in the fecking net Bernard! We have em rattled

Can't stand the hype surronding Dublin annually. Come on Tyrone

GOAL!!!!!!!

RTE missed it

4 point lead 4 and a half minutes to go.

Super goalkeeping!
