Gaa 2010

RTE once again showed their attitude towards Ulster football last night. On a sunday where the only other big game was the Connaght Final, The Sunday Game managed to show it, all yesterdays games, yesterdays hurling replay, and some camogie games before the Tyrone game. The only thing they didnt show was highlights of Eastenders. Now I remember why I don't pay my TV licence.

Attn; RHD!
Just bolted the door on the Mushroom sheds, told the chickens to go pluck themselves, cause Im a getting ready for shoot-out!

The horse is shoed, rested & ready for the day & a-half ride due North to the town of Clones.
My Smith & Weston is a-kind-of itchy!:mad::devil:

Are you travelling?

Funny post

Nah I didnt travel up to it. Had a massive birthday session on Saturday nite & I didnt want the missus having to take it easy for driving the next day. Was far too fecked anyway as it happens!

They were saving the best to the last man... I wasnt that bothered tbh, great to see the other Counties & well done to the Rossies...

Well done RHD !

The best team won easily . Our boys were not at the races, they seemed as if they were stuck to the ground & maybe even a tad nervous.

Tyrone were brilliant throughout, a masterful display in tactics & quality. If ( & I don't think they will) anybody beats ye, they will win Sam....... Tyrone, like 2 yrs ago, look like a team on a serious mission!

I for my part, have just returned to my mushrooms & chickens, bloodied & beaten. I had to get a Stage-Coach home, as my horse was captured by the Pomeroyan tribe.:(:annoyed:

Witty post in the circumstances STG, no doubt Tyrone looked good yesterdaybut at least you lads have a chance to redeem yourselves. Monaghan can play better than what they showed yesterday

Thanks CL, ye we still have a chance. Normally in such circumstances, I would say " no chance". However, Banty & co have a great "circle the wagons" ethos (excuse the cowboy pun again!:boring:) . I have no doubt they will be fired up, hopefully their minds won't still be in Clones.

ps; I meant to mention in my previous post aimed at RHD . . . The atmosphere was electric, in the town & at the match yesterday. 35,000 souls really enjoyed themselves (well most stopped about 10mins into 2nd half).
Both fans mingled before & after, good banter etc.... a credit to both counties!
Some of these critics of Ulster fans,:nono::wenger: way down south, who have never been to an Ulster Final, would learn a thing or two if they attended one!;)

It annoyed the shite outa me cos I missed the Ulster final live while stuck in traffic going to the Connaught final.

Ahhh sorry to hear that man - thats shite dude. Keep a look-out on Setanta - they show extended highlights (an hour) of matches played at the weekend & you might get lucky with the Tyrone match...

Again, sorry to hear you missed the game man :(

Exactly man, Monaghan have been impressive, so all is not lost. Banty & the lads will get goin again & I wouldnt be too pleased about playing them - Kildare will have it all to do. Monaghan are wounded now & will want to correct a few wrongs & I can see them regrouping for Kildare on Saturday & puttin the loss behind them!

Best of luck the Farney boys

Ulster Final days are really good craic alright STG. Although, its edgy as feck when it involves Armagh. Some amount of nutcases amongst their faithful & I dont mean that in a good way either...

It was good craic last year aswell. Antrim fans were in grand spirits & I have to say that the best part of an Ulster Final is not only the fans, but the locals - they are so welcoming & friendly. I'm always astounded when I go up to Clones - real football people & genuinely lovely folk

Glad to hear both sets of fans had a good days banter - not that it surprises me tho :)

I Hope Dublin beat the crap out of Tyrone. Not a bad draw for the Dubs.

As regards Down - playing some lovely stuff. A real dark horse

Id love that but I can't see us beating Kerry! But ya never know!

I dont expect us to win but as long as we are not on the wrong end of a beating (like we gave to Sligo) I suppose I will be happy enough.

Decent progress made by Down this year in comparison to past years, they could have a real tilt at the whole thing next year.....

I tell you what RHD Tyrone must have pissed Down off...still up for a rematch? :D

You'll be doin well to get past Kerry me oul son, wouldnt put it past ya's either. Kerry's mid-field is very poor this year & that could be the key area for you's to gather ball & hit'em on the break...

I'll gladly take a rematch.... first things first tho & then i'll think about the next stage!

Now now Baz... calm down mucker. We'll see on Sat if its a decent draw for Dublin...

As for a dark horse:

You never know is right man. I've a funny feeling you just might do it too.. all depends on Kerry tho, if they're really up for it then there's little chance of a Down win...

Scanlon cant play any poorer than he has been playin this season.. i'm beginning to think Dara made Scanlon look a decent player - however limited he might be...

Possible All Ireland final lads

I'm not thinkin that far ahead CL. Gettin Dublin out of the way is the only thing i'm thinkin about atm. If we do that, then I can hope for Cork to get past the Rossies so we can get payback for last years debacle...

Still very bitter about the whole thing - Seany choking at the last minute & leaving the gameplan in tatters - Tyrone playing piss-poor because of it, Cork gettin foul after foul for same challenges Tyrone were making, Tyrone being penalised for picking ball off the ground & Cork subsequently gettin scores from them, Ref not giving marching orders to two Cork players, Ref unjustly sending off a Cork player, Cork fouling all over the place & ref doin feck all about it, best ref in the Country Pat McEnaney not being the allocated Ref & him not being involved in the Semi's or the Final at all....

Paybacks a bitch....

Just got tickets for Sats game: Upper Hogan - Section 730, which is pretty much the half-way line. Dub mate in work went up to the Dorset Street shop at lunch-time thinkin he'd get great tickets but ended up with Upper-Tier Corner tickets - he's not amused at all. Dont know why he's pissed tho, the view is great anywhere apart from behind the goals...

Anyway enough of that.....

ITS ON

I have my tickets sorted.

I still have this fantasy that Kerry will get a bunch of injuries during the match and Jack O'Connor will pick me out of the crowd and ask me to come on as sub....so I'm going to bring my boots just in case.

Good man & make sure you've clean boots with you... you wanna make a good impression if you're asked to play....

Post from a Newbie...

MagicIrishMan has asked me to post this on here for him....

heya

since I am newbie I just wanna state something from down since I am down supporter and my father did played for them back in 70's nothing much - few games etc.

Anyway down did extreme well but i can understand mcCartan view of keeping it low to not to overhype the team.

Glad to have Clarke back in down - saw him in final with abbey vs louis grammar - ran the show on his own in second half - won the game until the last kick from my old school resulting in win for the abbey(clarke played for st louis and it was their golden generation too)

Clarke look and could be special player for down, however main issue is down defending - basically we cant defend cause we dont have best players in those protection but it more of attiude we have of "you score two, we score three" which backfire big time when we miss or choke or actually get shut/blanket to death.

Hoping Down to win cause I am sick to death of fecking tyrone due to luck on their side, we had epic replay battle against them for 3 bloody matches i believe and we won then backdoor rule where we lost to wexford then armagh got beaten as well to same team then lo and behold...fecking tyrone beat them.

There are very few team who can handle three ulster team in row and wexford isnt one of them. Tyrone can go feck right off. Down is true king of ulster!

P.S. taking the piss on tyrone, yes i do hate them but i dont begrudge them of wins, just fed up of their big ego talk, they had huge golden generation which i respect their effort to make it work.]

you can post this on GAA 2010 if you like since I am newbie

feck it, I won't need boots.

I'll come on and score 15 points in my Italian loafers. Just you wait.

I'm strangely optimistic in that we haven't won a match we shouldn't have in years, so we are due one. If we get two, sure that's an All Ireland final.

I thought you were a Dub? We can't be e-friends any more.

In fairness I posted this before the draw :D

I dont know what to expect from Kerry..it does depend on their midfield form, but we are in good form its whether we can maintain it!

None of you need worry your pretty little heads about All Irelands this year, the Kildare juggernaut is unstoppable. At least until 4 o'clock on Sunday. Mother of god please don't let us lose to Meath, anyone but Meath. I'll even push my own mother down the stairs if we can beat Meath.
