What are you talking about? It’s a fact that they’ve signed a shit ton of players, it’s a fact that they are deeply in debt, and it’s a fact that they keep sacrificing future income to sign a lot of players now.
What I am saying is they are either even more irresponsible and stupid than they’ve been in the past, or there is something I personally can’t see about their economic grand vision.

One of the aspects of this transfer saga I've enjoyed the most is outward displays of acute depression from FDJ acting as a signpost for how likely he is to arrive here. If we see sudden weight changes, substance abuse and death ideation then it's so on.
Highly unlikely Barca make it that simple for him, however would be delighted to be proved wrong

Well 1: there is the distinct possibility they think the tv rights they sold are not worth the value they received because the superleague would come in with an entirely different tv deal and different guaranteed financial structure.
2: They think, whether they give up on the super league or not, that they are going to force the teams that pulled out to pay them, even if it’s in a settlement.
Either way, they believe the super league will make them well financially, and make their “levers” moot.
Our only chance is barce pulling the trigger and sending FDJ out against his will. Either by paying up or by acting shaddy.

I think there is a lot of truth in this. Christensen, for example, was apparently a big Barca fan as a child. It’s not surprising that some guys like him would take 100k or so there over 120-150k at another club.
The question is, how quickly will things change if they don’t win. I could see them winning la Liga this year, but I could also see them limping into champions league if Lewandowski doesn’t produce and Xavi bombs. If they have a few more seasons like this past one, their financials will take a hit and I think they’ll lose a bit of their luster.

Barca doesn't want to get done by other people. Only they can destroy themselves.

However, with FdJ it's been repeated multiple times on this very forum Barcelona does not owe him any money legally, that is if my understanding is correct. FdJ signed an updated contract which included his deferred salary and fresh signing-on fee built in over the length of his new contract. The old contract when he signed from Ajax becomes void.
FdJ on his part is perfectly happy/entitled to stay until and unless he is paid his deferred salary and any signing-on fee to facilitate his move to United.

Everything "owed" still lies in the future. It's an embarrassing and false Social Media narrative, that barca doesn't pay their players. All they did was deffer the payments in the future years on which every player agreed. Barca thus restructred the contracts to pay them more money for the last years of their contract. So why should LaLiga or players lawyers step in on contracts they signed themselves?
Well... when you put it like that... Moving to Manchester does have it's huge benefits.
