I think we’ll know in the next two weeks. It is all fairly dull though. Personally I think they want to sell him. Neves, Raphinha, Soler and Lewandowski are all wanted by them apparently.

He's been proven reliable, has exclusives and has contacts in the agent world. Sometimes he just confirms other people's stories and he usually credits them. There was a little furore that he didn't credit a few of them but he does for the most part.
We don't need people flooding threads in this forum again when his tweets are always gonna be used and he's been considered not worthy of a ban by the mods for good reason.

It’s true. Even De Jongs father mentioned it recently as a negative. We are the most supported club in the world and therefore the biggest in the world (not sure the effect this season will have on that), but too European and especially South American players dont like UK (especially Mancunian) weather and find it difficult culturally to adjust.

Not sure where you are, but I can speak for South America, and support and shirt wearing and talking about United has fallen off massively. We are nowhere near Madrid or Barca on this massive continent, and never have been. And we've fallen behind Liverpool and Chelsea as well, I'd say, and I see more fans and shirts of City as well. We've been boring as feck to watch for yonks, and you can even hear the lack of enthusiasm in the voices of the Argie announcers on ESPN and Fox Sports. Seriously, it's gotten to the point that people don't give a shit about United here at the moment. The same has happened to Milan as well. In this huge football crazy continent, I laugh hearing a "behemoth of a club." Can't say, but I would imagine Asia would follow suit.

I can’t speak of all Asia, but Barca, City, PSG are popular in Japan. PSG is the one I find hard to stomach as they are just a fashion brand here. They have no redeeming quality in my eyes.

Firstly, United never had a bigger fanbase in South America bigger than Spanish clubs and it’s understandable because of iconic South American players playing mostly for Spanish clubs and because of language, culture etc. It still means little on a global scale.Secondly, What is the population of whole of massive continent of South America ? 400 million something. The 3 most populated countries in the world are China, India and USA accounting for more than 3 billion. BILLION. You know who is the most supported club in those countries by an overwhelming majority especially in the first two. Manchester fecking United. I know that for a fact being from Asia, India specifically and having been to many Asian countries and that’s just a few without taking the whole of Asia and other countries and continents into account.
Thirdly, Yes, we have been shit but the support doesn’t dwindle massively in just 9 years. Liverpool were shite for 3 decades in an era of no social media and limited broadcasting and they are still big. We don’t make headlines for the right reasons however sad that is but we still make headlines and there is a reason for that. So yeah, laugh all you want mate at the suggestion of United still a behemoth of a club, it won’t change the fact that we still are. Honestly, I’m sick of this undermining and of this narrative that we are not huge anymore as if entire dominance of the premier league era bar these 9 yrs and even the success before it would evaporate just like that.

Assuming FdJ's being pushed out of Barca and his priorities are wages, or instant success, or CL participation, City would be the obvious option.
Which means that if he ultimately picks United, it would have to be for personal reasons that would make him motivated to work hard and want to impress his manager.

De Jong did not drop into the backline as standard. That Ajax team were a dominant side, why would you actually describe the formation as a 4-2-3-1 if De Jong started in defence every time they had the ball?
In reality, that was one of the ways in which the team shaped up to progress the ball when met with a defensive shape and pressure from the opposition which made it difficult to get the ball forward with De Jong in his standard position at the base of midfield, which isn't a particularly unique piece of positioning - there are other examples of the deepest midfielder doing exactly this.
Yes, De Jong dropped in to the backline and Schone positioned himself at the base of midfield to maintain a good structure to the side - in certain situations. On other occasions though, De Jong maintained his position in front of the defence, and Schone would make a run forward or occupy a higher position.
I don't know if Kamara is a suitable partner or not, but based on the descriptions of his game here it doesn't sound like he would be comfortable moving or running into more advanced areas or generally being the second function midfielder.
