I remember a while back I was ridiculed when I suggested that Barca would be mad not sell De Jong in order to balance their books. The argument was that they have their finances in order and a new stadium deal.
Even so with Gavi and Pedri and De Jong being on insane wage, this is a very shrewed move by Barca. Moving on a player while his stock is still high.
All in all a win win for everyone involved if this is true.
