Sneijder, Fabregas, Pedro, Jadon (took us two years to get him)... I give up, next time I will appear on this thread is when we have actually signed someone
Difference is none of those (not sure on Pedro) were for sale. Inter, Barca and Dortmund made that clear and we carried on trying anyway. This time, Barca are desperate to sell and we are their only option as it stands. This will be done, holding out and waiting for Barca to drop the price could mean Erik getting another key target. The wait will be worth it if that happens.

Also we are not even in training yet, time is on our side still.

No idea why I keep coming back to this thread, repeatedly, day after day but I just can't help it.

It's big 4 day weekend due holidays here in Estonia, so nothing major will happen before Monday lads!

The only club who's shit at negotiating besides us of course is barcelona, if you think we get ripped off then have a look at how much they've overpaid over the years.

No wonder the transfer is stuck in the shitter.

That was before with other people. With Mateu Alemany things are very different.

Barca, despite its desperation or due to its arrogance, isn't willing to budge. They see Frenkie/United as their one silver bullet to get out of their current financial shithole.

The sale of FDJ does not make Barcelona get out of any hole, that will be done by the economic levers. The sale of FDJ is to finance other signings.

If United are not satisfied with the amount that Barcelona is asking for, then sign another player, that easy.
If Barcelona sells cheap it is that they are very bad at negotiating and if they sell high it is that they are arrogant and stubborn.

Martinez is among the best 4 sources for Barcelona news, according to the Barca tier list on reddit.

Yes, he is super tier 1 without a doubt. Respected and loved by all The Barcelona fans and even the presidents.
He does not invent anything, if he says it is because it is true.

Neither they are interested in keeping de Jong nor are they budging down from the asking fee and we are the clowns who rather than giving them the ultimatum and threaten to walk away are hooked up like an addict, pitched a tent outside camp nou and proclaiming homelessness in the hope of bringing the price down.

OK, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there. It's cold out there every day.

That's right woodchuck-muppets, it's.............

FdJ Day!

That's exactly what another Barca fan told me. I was advised to look out for updates from the very best sources like Martinez and take everything Fabrizio Romano says with a pinch of salt.

I think your overplaying the whole "briefing" thing, which, as I've stated many a time, is pretty much a load of rubbish for bored people to whine about while hitting F5. At least people have stopped saying "smoke screen". Nobody is telling journalists things to keep you spending at the Megastore, there's no grand conspiracy in which you matter. It'll all be fine, it's a complicated deal, it'll most likely happen. Give your keyboard a break, enjoy the nice weather.

This sounds like a briefing from the club tbh.

This looks like a good offer.

Is this classroom, correspondence or online learning. Is there scope for more abstract discussions around height and vibes or are you advocating a more objective approach?

Would also need some kind of badge / certificate on completion to confirm I am, indeed, a cool guy too?

If you can get back to me toot sweet I can post my bank account details

Come on bro. I got you!

Teams obviously, but I like to do practicals. Put theory into reality. So also includes a night out with Jack Grealish.

Clearly a done dealio.

They begging us to take him. Don't mind if it gets done on the last day of the window.

Just make sure we don't overpay. A precedence needs to be established this summer. Just like it was last summer.

Barca can do without him in the midfield , could do with the money and really could do with getting his wages off their books.

They dont HAVE to sell, but they'll be pretty happy to..

The whole fixed price or no sale is bs. Hopefully the new people in charge of negotiations don't fold this easily.

Do Barca disclose the details of the transfer openly? Or will this forever be "undisclosed amount"

To be honest, the best thing United can do to set a precedent is to become competitive again. Until that happens, selling clubs will know that we are somewhat desperate, and deals will be more difficult.

A club that is competitive is far more likely to walk away from a deal if the price is too high.

Ps - Romano is massive tap in merchant. Might have some contacts in Italy but that’s it.

Why? We are close, this is happening.

I was being sarcastic. Playing on the many posters suggesting the club walks away, saying that the individual should walk away from the thread. It was a play on words.

The ones you have to explain are always the funniest

We'll probably announce it tonight or tomorrow to take the focus off Glazers taking £11m dividends out

I think from the club’s point of view, it’s imperative both come out of this looking like they’ve won, or certainly not lost, in negotiations. The profiles of Barca and United with their respective fanbases in regards to how they have been run needs improving on both sides, and that will be the hold up here. Once that agreement is reached and the relevant rhetorics have been written, it’ll be done.

I don't take Romano seriously unless the transfer news is emanating from Italy. But when it comes to Spain and England, the journos covering specific clubs will always be more reliably informed.

Wish we'd move on and try and get some more affordable targets. A £40m CM and a £40m DM. These big money deals rarely work out and just eat up all our budget that we need for a lot of other positions.
