I can't get excited for this one. The inner muppet in me is still burnt by the last Barcelona midfielder we were after.
This would only be true if you never watched Scholes after he turned 24.He was a poor defender and against the best opponents SAF would either bench him or add a midfielder.

He could always sell it or rent it out.I mean he’s been earning £350k a week. I doubt buying a house in Barcelona is going to be an issue for him.
Miguel Ángel Nadal? The Beast of Barcelona.

Wise mindset. Means you won't be disappointed at either of the two outcomes.I can't get excited for this one. The inner muppet in me is still burnt by the last Barcelona midfielder we were after.
Tier 1 for barca.
Yeah, you replace the disappointment with joy over United's failures.Wise mindset. Means you won't be disappointed at either of the two outcomes.

Couple of points:These midfielders are not of the same caliber than the one you listed earlier and most of these aren't special at all, they have also generally performed worse than our much maligned midfielders. The way some of you are speaking with a relegation attack, defense, midfield and goalkeeper yet we easily outform most of the teams the players you mentioned played for.
Couple of points:
1. No, they aren’t of the same caliber. Still, they are good enough to punish a small attacking midfielder playing at DM.
2. How many matches did you watch this year and say to yourself, “Wow, our midfield is really bossing it!” Maybe 5, 10 tops? Did we look like we were in control vs Leicester, Wolves, Spurs? Hell, Watford’s midfield absolutely dominated us twice!
3. If Donny couldn’t break into our “much maligned” midfield, why would you expect him to magically transform into a reliable 6 that carries us triumphantly into the top 4?
4. Ten Hag played him almost exclusively as a 10 with FDJ behind him — 48 appearances mind you — and every CL fixture he was a 10. The only times he played further back was in the league as a sub or when resting Frenkie.
We all want Donny to succeed here, but I highly doubt Ten Hag thinks his future is as a DM next to FDJ in a 4-2-3-1. Playing him there and watching him get crushed in the PL isn’t the answer for the club, but most importantly, not for Donny either.
He was alright at the start of the game but hasn't featured much after that nasty tackle on his ankle. Not sure if the two are related though. Also seems part of Poland strategy to not afford him any space. Whenever he gets the ball he's instantly put under pressure, usually by two players. It's a smart move because by doing so Poland are usually leaving Ake unmarked but when he then gets the ball he doesn't do anything useful with it. The only pass Ake seems to know today is sideways or backwards. When I've watched him before he never struck me as lazy but feck me he looks lazy tonight
Perfect Pogba replacementWhen I've watched him before he never struck me as lazy but feck me he looks lazy tonight

Playing for LVG would drain the joy out of anyone's soul to be fair. God his football was dull, was so relieved when he sacked.

Neves?Don’t know if I’m rewriting history in my head
But when we clearly have a number 1 target for a position (Like FDJ in CM this Summer) does it always seem that we don’t have a backup?
Sancho in 2020 is one example. We needed a RW, missed out on Sancho and had no plan B. But I’m sure it happens a lot.

This whole mini conversation was about DvB being utilized the way Schone was under ETH. None of my comments have been about Fred, just purely about how unlikely it would be for Ten Hag to deploy Donny in the pivot with FDJ. Follow the thread back, I was commenting on the poster who floated the idea. What has Donny got to do with Fred? I haven't said a single thing about Van De Beek.
No, he’d be an alt.Neves & De Jong midfield?

Not sure why he would be, he played next to Moutinho who's a similar type of player to De Jong. No, he’d be an alt.
Neves?
Be like going from Carrick to CleverleyNo, he’d be an alt.
