Slightly off topic but i just saw this on a rival forum (so take it with a pinch of salt) -

If that is true then no wonder we have acted like buffoons in the transfer window in recent years.
It's fake , a funny one but fake nonetheless...or at least I've been told.

What is best in life?

To crush the muppets. See them driven before you. And to hear the lamentations of their women.

But in all seriousness, this thread is an unreal psych class on hysteria. Not even a whiff of him coming or wanting to come and the thread has whipped itself into hysteria and still feeding off of scraps. It's insane.

I'd love it if he came, I really would but I have to say, seeing reality dawn on the muppets is just as exciting.

I haven't seen one tweet or newspaper report that has even hinted at an agreement between Barca and Frenkie over the pay cut or deferred wages issue that has been so public, so it's not resolved.

That has to mean there is a chance a transfer could happen, right up to the last hour, especially as we had agreement with Barca over the fee, so we know they are open to a deal at least.

FdJ may not happen, for a myriad of reasons, but it's not dead, it's as alive as it's been since this saga began, so I'm hanging in here to the last, in muppet mode - I've invested too much time not to!

Took you a while to write your 13 posts in this thread did it? :wenger:

I jest, but I expect you to do your muppet duty and double that at least before the deadline tomorrow…..

Haven't posted a lot but read and followed a lot of this thread this summer, whatever happens tomorrow it's been an absolute pleasure with some great posts, poems, photoshop, memes and what not, that lyrics to Stan was killer.

I saw the same about Benfica expecting 40m for Nuñez and getting 90m

It's a meme and has been used for loads of players for different teams.

800/143 = 5.6

And yes, then I realised that the whole saga is utterly hysterical and bonkers. Not a whiff of De Jong wanting to leave.

I'll be open to him leaving in January, if even that. Not this summer. Not even a whiff.

You realised on the penultimate day of the window he’s not coming, having posted 143 times in the mains as a newbie in this thread, but have the audacity to talk down to others for posting?

That’s really something special

I think someone is having a meltdown. Just about every Ajax player is sold or linked to a transfer.

and you have my pity!

Not at all. I've been confident the whole way through, and if he doesn't come then i won't feel or look foolish at all. As a club, we've done nothing wrong at all. We must have had some assurances that he wanted to come, but other things were at play that stopped it (wages, partner, family etc). All things outside of our control
Honestly, can't tell if this is serious post

Can we make 2000 pages? I still believe we can. And sign FDJ with Depay!

Maybe FDJ will not happen in this window

If there were no offers it was hardly much of a decision then?

Does feel like there were various scenarios which would have seen several transfer dominos fall to get the FDJ move done, but we'll go again next summer most likely.

Just occured to me, hypothetically, what if United signed De Jong on a season long loan deal, with only an option to buy?
Pay 100% of his wages with a loan fee to Barca, that would make them happy, and Frenkie is still technically a Barca player, and getting his full wages, which might make him happy.
It's only for one season, which might make his GF happy too...?

Howson was talking up a loan deal on his own YouTube channel but can't see that

Bernado is such an amazing player for City. Wouldn't be surprised if he's seen as an upgrade on Frenkie.

why would their manager order his assistant around to negotiate deals? does it make sense to you that a manager would be handling this?

do you think if a team were to bid for Phil Jones, Ten Hag will be the one handling it and delegating it to his assistant? Come on man

Why not do a Loan to buy 30m euro loan fee, with an obligation to buy 55M next summer, we pick up all his wages this summer. Why not? Oh yeah doesn't want to leave Barca.

Guys, I'm starting to think there is a slight chance, maybe 10% or so, that this might not happen.:(
