€10M for Depay. Hopefully this gets confirmed and then they can use that for a portion of FDJs deferred wages & then sell him to us

That means Gakpo is not happening.
I want a last minute of transfer window deal for FDJ ! Full muppet mode !

Big day today !

We badly need a midfielder who can keep the ball and calm the team down in possession. FDJ the ideal, but if not him, we shouldn’t end the window without one otherwise our team will be spent by the run-in, as all this manic running without controlled rest in possession is completely unsustainable.

You really are that convinced he is coming ?
Why not? Barca have treated him horrendously, should he decide at the last minute then he knows we are ready. If he stays then fair enough. I don’t buy into the “embarrassing” narrative. You have to break eggs tonnage an omelette

I just think for a player of that calibre and feel it would have happened by now, I know there is the issue around what they owe him, but I feel given the way we conduct ourselves in the market since AF left, we would have made some sort of offer, as look at the mad money we are willing to give up for Antony.

Anyway fear not you mad "muppets" as have 10 truck loads of xanax and diazepam for you lot just in case.

I’m sick to death of this guy. He’s strung us along all summer. I hope he spends the entire season planted to the bench for Barca.

Totally agree, the idea of him spending a miserable year dealing with this despicable club is the only thing that makes me happy about this not happening…they deserve each other.

Come on we really need to go breserk trying to get his signature , we seem to be building towards a very solid(may u say world class?) Spine with the varane Martinez partner ship with casemiro shielding them, having him progressing the ball to the final third will make such a massive difference, we'll be set for a few years at least.

Having Martinez in with Varane has already trasnformed our once dodgy back line, Casemiro and a player like FDJ will transform out midfield, and if we get Antony in our front line will no doubt transfer our front line. Add in a half capable striker and we will be good to go. We will genuinely look like a decent team again :)

We agreed a fee with Barcelona. If he wanted to join he’d be here already. Sometimes players just don’t want to join regardless of the package offered.

I'm a muppet and I want this to happen.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed.

de Jong's unpaid wages are to be repaid by Barcelona starting from this year, right?
Some reports allege that Man Utd are willing to cover part of the unpaid wages, but is not legally allowed to do so.

Isn't a loan deal where we pay 100% of his wages legal? I'm sure Murtough can renegotiate the fee for obligation to buy in a season or two if they went about it this way.

Let it go, its not happening. Sound like an ex that won’t take no for an answer.

Yup pretty much this. I agree completely

The simple fact is, the groundwork for this deal is all there and ready. I imagine all contracts will be ready as well should he decide he wants to move. We'd obviously know how much he wants if he's to come here. I bet if the green light is given, it would be wrapped up in very quick time

If we do break up with Frenkie we need to do that classic thing to make him jealous and want us back. Get in shape, look really hot, and he’ll start to question what he’s missing. He’ll be begging for us to take him back, telling us he’s changed etc.

So Murtough needs to drop a couple of hundred mil on 5 top signings in the next few days, basically.

Then we can do the other classic trick and tell him to feck himself

It was never going to happen for Gods sake. I was slaughtered on here for saying Barca don‘t need to sell him, looks like he’s still there our Frenkie. Still time I guess for more media hype on TalkShite and SKY.

That depends on how you define “need”did they need to do 4 economic levers?

Loan deal makes no sense, Barca don't need him to leave now and I don't think the player would accept even if a club did pay his deferred wages. Bernardo Silva is seen as impossible and Xavi won't give this transfer his blessing without a suitable replacement.

Kounde is also now registered, seems there were errors on La ligas end.

Interesting comments from Graham Hunter re FDJ's development since at Barca...

Talks about him not developing much physically or as a footballer since joining Barca.

Also says he's in the comfort zone because of the crazy money and the fact he and his girlfriend like the lifestyle in Barca. They recently bought a home there.

No, we’ll sign him at 30 and apologise for not making enough effort to sign him at 24 and give him a backdated bonus plus the 17m he’s owed from barca

Why though? I really don’t see he’s strung us along.

Again, someone else’s misery is the only thing that makes you happy?

If he actually comes here then you two would have some miserable sh*t to deal with eh?

Is that with or without the 17m they owe him?

He’s refused to leave. It has nothing to do with the £17 million. We’d have happily paid that as a signing on fee. He never wanted to come here. We all need to accept that and move on.

 This guy has no idea what he's talking about, saying De Jong is being paid too much, too skinny, etc. He's got less information about the situation than anyone here who's just been reading tweets and articles about it for a few months.

I dont think he is paid too much. He said he has not developed and is in a comfort zone at Barca.

Lives in Spain. His beat is Spain and specifically Barca. Has written several books about Barca and Spanish football.
Yeah, probably knows nothing!

Linked to aubameyang and now Depay. Maybe there is something in the idea that Barca need funds to pay of frenkie?

Or maybe we're really getting desperate for players...

I've always liked Graham Hunter but I think he's gone full on pro-Barca propaganda / blinkers on over FDJ and Barca in general at the minute.

He was on talkSPORT (would've been a couple months ago now) when Matterface and a few others were asking basic questions about the de Jong situation and he became irate over pretty much nothing. He's really emotional about this stuff right now.

None of that means he has inside sources. But it does mean he may well have a bias towards Spanish football and Barcelona.

I’m entirely convinced that he doesn’t want to come here at all, otherwise he’ll be a United player already by now. Loves life too much in Barca with his missus while earning a shedload of money and who can blame him

I agree, he came across really badly in that interview. Very defensive and dismissive.

I like him also, he was great on Revista de la liga back in the day.

He has a strange hate boner for Frenkie it seems. I remember him commentating (on La liga tv iirc) a few times and having a go at him for simple mistakes, seems to get very irate about it.
