Wrap up the Antony deal this weekend, and then full guns blazing for him next week.
Ms piggy reach around to keep you going?Belief fading here geebs. Running out of gas and with the current fuel prices, I don’t think I’m going to be able to see this one through
You really are that convinced he is coming, respect that stead fast attitude, but nah he is not coming, few English papers claiming he is willing to take a pay cut.5 more days! Stay strong muppets
Why not? Barca have treated him horrendously, should he decide at the last minute then he knows we are ready. If he stays then fair enough. I don’t buy into the “embarrassing” narrative. You have to break eggs tonnage an omeletteYou really are that convinced he is coming ?
I just think for a player of that calibre and feel it would have happened by now, I know there is the issue around what they owe him, but I feel given the way we conduct ourselves in the market since AF left, we would have made some sort of offer, as look at the mad money we are willing to give up for Antony. Why not? I’m sick to death of this guy. He’s strung us along all summer. I hope he spends the entire season planted to the bench for Barca.
Come on we really need to go breserk trying to get his signature , we seem to be building towards a very solid(may u say world class?) Spine with the varane Martinez partner ship with casemiro shielding them, having him progressing the ball to the final third will make such a massive difference, we'll be set for a few years at least.

Is that with or without the 17m they owe him?We agreed a fee with Barcelona. If he wanted to join he’d be here already. Sometimes players just don’t want to join regardless of the package offered.
€10M for Depay. Hopefully this gets confirmed and then they can use that for a portion of FDJs deferred wages & then sell him to us
Yup pretty much this. I agree completelyWhy not? Barca have treated him horrendously, should he decide at the last minute then he knows we are ready. If he stays then fair enough. I don’t buy into the “embarrassing” narrative. You have to break eggs tonnage an omelette
If we do break up with Frenkie we need to do that classic thing to make him jealous and want us back. Get in shape, look really hot, and he’ll start to question what he’s missing. He’ll be begging for us to take him back, telling us he’s changed etc.Let it go, its not happening. Sound like an ex that won’t take no for an answer.
That depends on how you define “need”did they need to do 4 economic levers? It was never going to happen for Gods sake. I was slaughtered on here for saying Barca don‘t need to sell him, looks like he’s still there our Frenkie. Still time I guess for more media hype on TalkShite and SKY.

I'm a muppet and I want this to happen.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed.
de Jong's unpaid wages are to be repaid by Barcelona starting from this year, right?
Some reports allege that Man Utd are willing to cover part of the unpaid wages, but is not legally allowed to do so.
Isn't a loan deal where we pay 100% of his wages legal? I'm sure Murtough can renegotiate the fee for obligation to buy in a season or two if they went about it this way.
We should all be very proud of him, it's a top-class achievement.@Brownie85 has been a member of this forum for 8 years and 63% of his entire posting history is in this thread.
No, we’ll sign him at 30 and apologise for not making enough effort to sign him at 24 and give him a backdated bonus plus the 17m he’s owed from barcaIf we do break up with Frenkie we need to do that classic thing to make him jealous and want us back. So Murtough needs to drop a couple of hundred mil on 5 top signings in the next few days, basically.
Then we can do the other classic trick and tell him to feck himself
Why though? I really don’t see he’s strung us along.I’m sick to death of this guy. He’s strung us along all summer. I hope he spends the entire season planted to the bench for Barca.
Again, someone else’s misery is the only thing that makes you happy?Totally agree, the idea of him spending a miserable year dealing with this despicable club is the only thing that makes me happy about this not happening…they deserve each other.
Is that with or without the 17m they owe him?
Yes, yes it is. I suppose I just went full muppet this year and dedicated myself.@Brownie85 has been a member of this forum for 8 years and 63% of his entire posting history is in this thread.
Interesting comments from Graham Hunter re FDJ's development since at Barca...
Talks about him not developing much physically or as a footballer since joining Barca.
Also says he's in the comfort zone because of the crazy money and the fact he and his girlfriend like the lifestyle in Barca. They recently bought a home there.
This guy has no idea what he's talking about, saying De Jong is being paid too much, too skinny, etc. He's got less information about the situation than anyone here who's just been reading tweets and articles about it for a few months.

None of that means he has inside sources. But it does mean he may well have a bias towards Spanish football and Barcelona.I dont think he is paid too much. He said he has not developed and is in a comfort zone at Barca.
Lives in Spain. His beat is Spain and specifically Barca. Has written several books about Barca and Spanish football.
Yeah, probably knows nothing!
I agree, he came across really badly in that interview. Very defensive and dismissive.I've always liked Graham Hunter but I think he's gone full on pro-Barca propaganda / blinkers on over FDJ and Barca in general at the minute.
He was on talkSPORT (would've been a couple months ago now) when Matterface and a few others were asking basic questions about the de Jong situation and he became irate over pretty much nothing. He's really emotional about this stuff right now.

It’s nice to see someones still fecking sane, welcome aboard.I’m entirely convinced that he doesn’t want to come here at all, otherwise he’ll be a United player already by now. Loves life too much in Barca with his missus while earning a shedload of money and who can blame him
