None of that means he has inside sources. But it does mean he may well have a bias towards Spanish football and Barcelona.

Im not sure why there would be a bias? but ok.

He said that FDJ is in his "comfort zone" at Barca.

If reports are true that his agents are about to take the pay cut, then I would say it lends it's self to that way of thinking.

Being treated like shit all summer, then accepting a pay cut. Its unheard of. Especially when his ex manager is willing to take him.

Interesting comments from Graham Hunter re FDJ's development since at Barca...

Talks about him not developing much physically or as a footballer since joining Barca.

Also says he's in the comfort zone because of the crazy money and the fact he and his girlfriend like the lifestyle in Barca. They recently bought a home there.

Sounds like the kind of personality we don't need to be honest. Barcelona fans have been highly critical of him too so maybe there's something more here. Might have lost the drive. Cutting his wages and accepting playing substitute CB certainly suggests that too.

If he comes to United, great player.

If he stays, then lazy spoiled rich brat.

Seems to me that Ten Hag’s specific comment of us being alert up until the last second of the window was in reference to him (probably been said already!).

I’m entirely convinced that he doesn’t want to come here at all, otherwise he’ll be a United player already by now. Loves life too much in Barca with his missus while earning a shedload of money and who can blame him

Kinda funny to think back to all the insiders (and some muppets here) claiming that United wouldn't try to sign him for so long if they weren't sure he wanted to come.

Anyway, the main purpose here is to reach 2000 now.

Not really, because he was probably giving the indications that he wanted to go, but there was likely some outside interference influencing his decision (Partner, family etc)

We badly need a midfielder who can keep the ball and calm the team down in possession. FDJ the ideal, but if not him, we shouldn’t end the window without one otherwise our team will be spent by the run-in, as all this manic running without controlled rest in possession is completely unsustainable.

Yeah hopefully today proved that point to Erik

So it's been said for a while that this transfer goes down to who blinks first.

What if nobody blinks ?

Se queda ?

:boring: lame to accept the pay cut as suggested and to play bench CB... guess he or the missus has some special tapas they can't do without.

Rumours are that Frenkie is going to blink first with a pay cut...

Otherwise, status quo remains until January, when Barca will be under more pressure as his wage is going up each year, so they will try to force him out again. They could end up screwing his career by playing him out of position or benching him. That may mean he misses the World Cup and ends up leaving on a free in a few years, but it will be a massive risk for anyone to take him on then having not played consistently for years and having been at war with his club.

Real Madrid tried that tactic on Bale, but he was always going to get into the Wales team even if he hadn't been playing regularly, and then he was fully rested and played brilliantly for Wales, securing them World Cup qualification. He didn't care as much as this was at the end of his career, and he had nothing left to achieve other than with Wales.

Hunter is an utter bellend.

The other day he was throwing shite at people for "not understanding" what's going on and now he's shitting all over him because of his wage and the fact that he gets paid a lot and likes living in Barcelona  .

Why is Frenkie the one who's "not developed" there's a swathe of Barca players who've been utter shite. Busquets at 34 on his packet for example doesn't get singled out, and he's been over the hill for a while.

Yeah cheers FDJ for pissing Erik around and leaving us right in the lurch for a playmaker CM
