This one feels over. Missing out on De Jong really feels like we will lack that missing piece this season.

Like I said last night we were either going to miss out on a DM and be lightweight or miss out on a CM and lack creativity

Yeah I realised this was fecked long ago mate
Not that far away from @Brownie85. You can do it! Brownie dear, take a long walk, clear your head..
Im on a measly 65...relegation battle here!
65? Meh, I am getting relegated, like hopefully Liverpool This my 48th post. Might make it to 50.

I don't think Laporta has anymore lever to pull in this window. There is still hope FDJ will sign for us in order for Barca to register thier players.

Even if they somehow manage to register thier players this year, the financial problems are not going away, we will definitely be back January or even next summer.
I just think as many do that there is just enough from Barca and the agent to actually get this over the line ths week.
After the Liverpool game and Casemiro signing he must see that the project is just starting, 1 year out of the champions league is nothing.
I'm so confident that we will be challenging properly next season and I'm convinced to get top 4 this season.

Surely the FDJ money is now going on Antony.

This is what I believe. I highly doubt we would be willing to pay that much for Antony after buying Casemiro, if we where still going for FDJ.
It also seems like Barca have given up on Silva.
They will end up selling Auba to Chelsea and that will enable them to register Kounde.

Has the 2000 pages dream died? I wonder do footballers ever read a few pages of these threads. You suuuuuuuurely would if you were being linked to United. Just to see.

Oh shit, just seen all the news. He's off to Liverpool??

BREAKING

This just in: Frenkie de jong doesn’t give two flying fecks about United.
Our sources claim he’s going to spend a lifetime in Catalonia and possibly play a game of “feck, kill, marry” with the likes of Xavi, Laporta and Romero, where he chooses to feck all three and then marry Busquets.

You mean the one article from Forbes which is an opinion piece?

Yes. off to Liverpool. Medical at Aintree University Hospital at 17:04 today.

This one can only be "off" once the transfer window expires. Until then Barca still need to sell, United still want to buy.

Yeah, for sure.

The addition of Casemiro (£60m) essentially put to bed any hope for FDJ. With Anthony and Malacia setting the club back another £80m combined, I think it's fair to say our business is done for this window.

Hopefully, we'll go after FDJ again next summer after we've qualified for the CL and perhaps shown clear signs the club is progressing in the right direction, assuring FDJ that he won't be wasting his career by joining us.

Once again, fees are paid in installments. The club doesn't pay £70m for De Jong up front.

If United could afford De Jong next summer, they can afford him now if not for cash flow issues - which United don't have.

The fee is not an issue. We'd only have to put up £15-20m within 12 months.

Like Barcelona have said all along he either leaves or he takes a pay cut. He hasn't accepted the pay cut so its still on

United do have cashflow issues

Have you guys never heard of 'on tick' ?

Sure it's like when you ask your local shopkeeper to tick you a Mars bar because you left your bank card at home. I do it all the time. I'm not sure how 'ticking' would that translate to an £80m footballer, though.

Remember when we pretty much had to sell Garner to get Rabiot. The FDJ money is going to Antony

Been told Barca's seriously looking at paying Frenkie's deferred wages so he will accept departure to United. Condition is however that this Redcafe topic needs to be levered to at least 2500 pages before the transfermarket closes, otherwise the deal's off. Barcelona alledgedly not impressed with the progress made in the past few days.
