I personally can't see Chelsea since they want Fofana, but I think Boehly will build a world class team within 2 windows.

I do feel Tuchel will be sacked eventually though, he's a top manager but I think they'll try pull a manager in like Ancelotti with time.

Chelsea are not interested in him. It's we who create a fake interest so that we could boast how we beat them to his signature. Always happens a few days before us signing someone, usually it's City though but Chelsea will do. Tomorrow is a huge day.

We should have closed this deal during the first four weeks, we should have agreed to pay what was required to get the deal done, we now look like mugs after playing ourselves, only for us to become desperate enough to pay whatever it's going to take in other to land him now.

Ironically the longer it’s gone on the more Barca have pissed him off, so he can be under no illusions now they want him out. This is actually a better chance for us in my opinion just tempered by the fact that Chelsea want him now too

I'm talking from the Chelsea perspective.

From their POV their new owner wants to make a statement in the transfer market. This would go a long way to doing that.

It's not even just Nunes, there's players like Bennacer and Caqueret at Lyon who could provide solutions for us imo.

And this is a unpredictable window for us because the recruitment is being driven by ten Hag. And it's being driven by ten Hag due to the scouting setup at first team level not being structured towards effectively supporting the head coach. And this has been reported first by Daniel Taylor of The Athletic (which I posted on the forum) and today by Marcel van der Kraan who basically said the same in the video below at the 5 minute mark. So the scouting setup that was structured at first team level by the heads of scouting (Lawlor and Bout) has been looked at and been called out to be inefficient to support the head coach hence both men have been let go/sacked. I think things will be restructured and the structural process will be realigned with the input of ten Hag. But until then it wouldn't surprise me if we end up making a signing or two that hasn't been discussed.

Is that maybe not oncerning though? The Ten Hag moves seem to have been people who have played in Holland and now the likes of Rabiot, Arnautovic and still going after DeJOng 4months later towards the end of the window, very poor.

It doesnt seem like any one was ready for the recruitment process this summer and that includes the manager.

The sheer number of players we havent made moves for before these desperate attempts is literally bewildering. Liek you mention Caqueret, half the price of DeJong yet seemed to be only tentative interest from Milan and he ended up signing a new contract, would of cost half the price of DeJOng, half the salary and more lilely ot have beein interested, there have been excellent young players on free moves like Kamara, there are still strikers like AMine Giouri and only tentative press reports of Madird interested.

How on earth have we ended up here only so far signing one possible serious upgrade, having only sold one player and now making moves for players with baggage that no other teams are going near whilst still chasing a player that doesnt want to come purely cause his club want to move him on desperately, it is an utter farce
