If he isn't coming here I'd rather he stay at Barca for the remainder of his contract and cripple them financially. If he isn't coming here I rather he went there than Chelsea

All because some bald headed Spanish sausage said : FDJ - United 95%. Very bad. What a crazy thread.
There hasn't been any good news on this since about page 600 and it's still going on.
I’m done with this transfer until Ducker announced we have switched all our attention to another midfielder and the chaos that ensues
Are they actually mates or just both from Holland ?I’m surprised it’s taken this long for him to be linked to Bayern after his mate De Ligt moved there 2 weeks ago.
Yeah, this thread has to go down in history, it's had it all, from the early optimism, to Stan Remixes to negative bombshell after negative bombshell, Palancas, 'things are happening', all the while certain elite muppets (yourself included) keeping the faith. It's just insane in here at the moment. Not much happening until good ol 'Arry caused a stir this morning.
Dark Peak in the northern part of the peak district youre thinking of.I actually prefer Manchester to London. Great gateway to so many beautiful places that are close like the place west between Manchester and Sheffield (i forget the name) and the lake district etc.
Also the city is quite fun and has good neighbourhoods.
They can’t “legally” but it’s easy to do via loopholes. Increased transfer fee, increased sign on fee.
I just think Utd have been insistent they don’t want to pay what Barca owe.
I wouldn't blame Ten Hag at all. The club have brought him in and given him more say over the signings than he's ever had before, despite this being the biggest club he's ever worked for, and have seemingly only identified current or former Ajax players or players he knows from the Eredivise because the club have acknowledged that their scouting isn't good enough (sacking the 2 most senior scouts weeks before the window opens). Of course he's going to prioritise De Jong as someone he knows and thinks has quality rather than just naming random players he doesn't know as well or relying on flawed scouting information.
The fact that United relies this heavily on his manager in stead of scouting/transfer embedded elsewhere in the organization - so that the manager can focus on what happens on the pitch - for its transfer targets is more embarrassing than anything else..
Don’t know, weren’t they always considered close when they were at Ajax? Are they actually mates or just both from Holland ?
They're also responsible for getting a deal with the player. Of course a manager can speak to the player and encourage them but he's not negotiating the terms of the deal. I get that it's a particularly tough deal but Ten Hag isn't responsible for that element. The board did their job by getting a deal with Barceloan - I mean Barcelona. If the guys who know the player can't persuade him to join us - and we still spend the entire summer chasing him - of course that is on ETH
Mitten, Nev and now Harry saying he prefers Chelsea
Nah - if a new manager comes in and says - I want this player, and I can persuade him to come....why is that embarrassing for anyone else than the manager ? I think out scouting department knows everything about FDJ.
Have anyone changed their vote yet?
Or… how many have changed? I guess is the better question.
I agree with you.
We spent the season going for Brobbey - a player clearly wanted by Ten Hag over everyone else. We have been rejected by him and therefore have no striker bought this year.
We are only going for who Ten Hag wants, which is clearly a small bracket of players.

I think it has come to a point where, if the hold up really is the remaining wages and FDJ has actually given ETH assurances that he would come to United, then United need to up their bid. both clubs tried to play hardball. United need to get back in the CL. If FDJ is the best way to do that, then up the bid. i agree that United would be damned if they do and damned if they don't, but you have to find a balance between overpaying for something that you desperately want and need vs not being taken for granted.
FDJ would massively improve us, so i think the benefit would be greater to overpay and get than stand firm and not get him. if we get him and get CL then no one will care that we over payed and help bail Barca out.
it is more important for us to improve than care what the media writes about us paying over value.

Maybe it's a principle for Frenkie. He wants the money from Barca which in his eyes they owe him for deferring salary to help out, Barca.I think it has come to a point where, if the hold up really is the remaining wages and FDJ has actually given ETH assurances that he would come to United, then United need to up their bid. both clubs tried to play hardball. I agree but we also have to make sure that we don't appear as "rich idiots" who overpay for everything like we did in the last 10 years. I'm maybe in minority but I agree with Arnold/Murtough on holding line and not buckling under pressure.I think it has come to a point where, if the hold up really is the remaining wages and FDJ has actually given ETH assurances that he would come to United, then United need to up their bid. both clubs tried to play hardball. Agreed. Good post.
Why on earth would we up our already accepted bid?I agree but we also have to make sure that we don't appear as "rich idiots" who overpay for everything like we did in the last 10 years. I'm maybe in minority but I agree with Arnold/Murtough on holding line and not buckling under pressure.
When they run out of ideas, there's always Harchester United. They dont want him. Next up City, but they dont want him either.
Why on earth would we up our already accepted bid?
Or that. That will do nicelyIf he isn't coming here I'd rather he stay at Barca for the remainder of his contract and cripple them financially.
