Yup, and if it’s not negative about United it’s probably not true. Fml!
It's just daft now. People blame the club for things out of their control and expect us to walk away from deals because it's not happening quick enough.
Yes we've had bad experiences in the past, but it doesn't mean this time is going to be the same. Confidence amongst fans is low, understandable, but how about we just let the club get on with things and see where it goes. ten Hag will have a backup plan, i'm sure of it

This needs hammering home. Some fans are on a zombie like autopilot ‘our board is crap, we are in competent just because’. It’s a lazy narrative especially when it’s sooo easy to be patient and just see what happens. Benefit of the doubt people.

We need to have a quiz and not a survey if people want to post in this thread. Otherwise its the same old shite from 600pages ago. Seems like people want to post just to get crap off their chest and not actually read or value any of the prior discussions.
Might as well start shouting that the world is flat.

The thing is that we argue about our club which was a mess for the last number of years and it's STILL a mess this year too.
Our owners keep us dangling with promises that rarely happen each and every year.
Embarrassing owners.

Its more a reflection of their ignorance of negotiations (or working on agreements) or management in general.

Why do you need to blame our club? If it doesn’t come off I’d say it’s on FDJ and Barca for not sorting their shit out. It’s not a situation we can really affect. The only blame out club can have levelled at it is if they don’t strengthen at all because of this, which I find highly unlikely.
Perhaps i should of worded it different, I am not blaming the club like a Mark Goldbridge will, i think the board is correct in waiting for Ten Hag's No1 target but we should of found a way to pressure Barca in solving the wage issue be that paying it ourselves or giving them a hard deadline. I am still of the opinion he will come but if he does not we have boxed ourselves into a corner.

No one disputing that... they're absolutely useless in every sense of the word. I don't think anyone will disagree with that.
The sooner they're gone, the better, but the only issues then is we could end up with someone who are worse than the Glazers (if thats actually possible)

"Is Wolverhampton a good place to live?
Wolverhampton was named the best place to live in the UK, according to a survey by Provident in 2020.
The city was ranked highest for all categories in the survey, which included how welcoming the city is, how friendly residents are, how polite residents are, safety, upkeep of the area, trust, happiness and gossip."

And you mock :nono:
Do you live there?

my mate went to Uni there years ago. I kinda liked the city. They were building new stands at the time for the stadium and the halls of residence were very close to the football ground.
The great bread wars were on at the time, 6p for a loaf in Asda

I think a lot of people are under the impression that it's exactly like Football Manager and everything happens within a few days.
Yes transfers CAN happen that quick, but this isn't a normal transfer. I can't actually think of one thats similar to this, in respect to deferred wages and the sorts. This was always going to take time, and it's about the waiting game.

No, I'm in Fermanagh. I have some cousins in Birmingham/Wolverhampton.

Add me to that list too, though I'm no yam yam.

Whilst Wolverhampton should be miles from the top of a best place to live list, there's been a lot of regeneration over the last few years and it's fairly decent and I do agree the people are nice, though I think that can be said for most of the UK personally.
Brexit showed that half of the voters are ignorant, self absorbed numpties

Yeah no its not. I've worked in management of a high level IT company for 5 years. I am in the negotiation and sales division. Its got nothing to do with ignorance. Its all to do with clear lack of planning and organisation that our transfer market team are currently showing.

All that will make sense if we finally get the man; else four months of dilly-dallying for the number one target is tantamount to gross incompetence.

Because that is too logical. What will these fans have to then moan about in the meantime?

I agree but it's not only this one transfer that has kept us back from getting other players.

We've arrived at the start of the season with having to play Ronaldo to replace Martial as there's probably only Elanga who could play there.

The situation is pathetic.

I am Irish. Along with about 95% of the forum.

I have relations in Wolverhampton.

To be fair I have relations fecking (literally fecking) everywhere - we are very prodigious as many will know.
Wow, I've been here for nearly 10 years and had no idea! Is it really mostly irish?

How is it dilly-dallying if the issues lie between de Jong and Barcelona regarding his deferred wages? How exactly can we speed that along in any possible way?
We can't just turn round to Barca and say "Oi lads, hurry up, this is getting daft now". I don't think it works like that. Plus de Jong isn't going to just give up 17m is he? The club will stick with him until they either sign him, or it becomes absolutely crystal clear that he's not going to come, and we're not at that point yet

We still have 3 weeks for the window. Plus, it's not like we've been dilly-dallying doing nothing.

We've agreed a fee with Barca. We're just awaiting a resolution between FdJ and Barca. In the meantime, we've signed other players, and looking to sign others. Wouldn't call that dilly-dallying.

Today Genuinely is Frenkie Friday. One way or another.

Hmm, if this is true then his pending decision could be worrying. If he's finally ready to make a decision after 14 weeks now that Chelsea have got involved, I'm not sure the decision is going to be in our favour :nervous:

Honestly, in all my years of supporting United -- starting back in the pre-Fergie days -- I have never ever heard of a deferred payment/owed salary scenario.

Back then, this is what I was more focused on:

Shoot magazine insert/gift at the start of every season. And not someone's feckin deferred salaries.

Simpler times.

Being optimistic, it could be that they’ve finally resolved the wage issue, as they want to conclude the signing of Silva and get things sorted prior the the registration deadline.

Not really? It could be that we've decided to step in and say "Look, you write the wages owed off, and we'll give it to you as bonuses/additional payments over the life of your contract".
We might have gotten to a point where we just want to get it all done and dusted.

Or it COULD just be Sport being lying bastards again? Yeah... i'd go with that to be totally honest with you

Yup, you’s potato munching Guinness swigging eejits get everywhere! :D
It’s all good, I’m the direct descendant of an Irish immigrant to the midlands as my mammie was born and raised in Dublin before moving to the midlands as a child. I’m proud of my Irish heritage but consider myself English. But hey, we’re all on the same team here!
