Barca legit might have to go into administration if the European Super League never takes off

Also this selling off of club assets to fund further splurging, and NOT pay off their long term debts or owed wages, is some of the most incredible financial decision making I've ever seen at this level.

They were in deep shit already after the financial mismanagement of the previous presidency and have now only doubled down on the same path that led them to ruin seemingly banking off of the potential windfall that winning trophies and starting the ESL would bring.

No matter what happens, this period of their club history will surely be a case study in how not to run an multi-billion dollar institution in the future. Fully expecting courses to be taught on it in the future.
Their Leeds'ing themselves.

Direct the hate at our owners, Arnold and Murtough for their sheer incompetence.

Chelsea are a plastic piece of shit club who are only relevant through Russian blood money. They have no legitimate right to be in the picture and no legitimate history. If FDJ goes to them it’s not because of the draw of the club, it’s us being idiots in the transfer market, once again.
How would one prove it? It’s an opinion/observation. Do you think their (Murtough and Arnold’s) activities this transfer window are adequate to address the needs of the team (in this particular extremely pivotal window)? Going into the new season with McFred as starting midfield doesn’t suggest to me that is the case, qualitatively, at the very least.

RE Chelsea, you are correct about the current situation but my point stands as without the financial doping of the last two decades they wouldn’t be in this situation at all. They wouldn’t even be an option for FDJ. I’m not sure how one could argue otherwise.
An observation huh?

Well we have had an agreed deal for about a month or so now for €85M

Barca/FDJ have to sort out their issues first regarding the wages and then we’ll sign him.

Just how on earth is any of that their fault.

How on earth is getting a deal agreed a month ago, “incompetent”

I don't get your point mate. Did Dwight Yorke give an interview that lack of Champions League football for MUFC was an issue after speaking to FDJ at a game? Whether he said this to a betting site, MEN or anyone else - he said it. Whether FDJ said that to him as a direct comment or not, he was no doubt left with that opinion, otherwise he wouldn't have said it.. Does Dwight Yorke have an agenda against Man Utd, no chance, if anything Yorkey tows the club line..
Nevermind. Let’s move on.

It's a lose lose for the club really. If we lose him to Chelsea by not paying his wages and they do, we wasted time and the sorts and should have paid it so we got the player.

If we do end up paying what Barca won't, we'll be accused of being stupid and desperate and that Woodward is back in charge etc. It really is a lose lose

It's as close to getting it from the horses mouth, as we have had in over 1200 pages tbf.. someone who has actually spoken recently to the guy
Except it reads as if they didn't discuss anything about his transfer business at all.

Why would they?
There are ways it can be done, hence why Barca are waiting for United to pay it themselves. We could pay it to de Jong directly through his contract or we could pay it to Barca in additional transfer fees and they pass it on is another way that was suggested.

Either way, the option is most definitely there. We also wouldn't be paying his deferred wages as such, he'd write them off with Barca and we'd pay him the equivalent amount

Why on earth don't we propose this if it finally overcomes this issue and gets it over the line

Chelsea links are soft, they might be sniffing out fire sale targets....and FDJ, but nowhere near as concrete as our offer. And now we get the wonderful news that the barca fraudsters are in even more monetary drama....what a lovely way to start the morning

Someone mentioned this earlier but part of me wants us to not sign FDJ just to see what kind of additional disaster this heaps on Barca.
Not sure it would actually be as apocalyptic as some think. They would probably just palanca themselves to death. Laporta needs to survive a few years to elections and then presumably it would be someone else’s problem.

My guess is that United are thinking along the lines of "That's a problem between you and de Jong, not between United and de Jong". Rightly so, it wasn't United who asked him to take a pay cut, so why should we pay him for work he did for Barcelona. You can certainly see the view United will likely have there.

I'm betting they have a desperation plan where they can propose something like that if they absolutely need too and want the player badly, but again, why should we pay for him playing for another club? Makes no sense.

Why does this sound so funny

People want the world delivered on a stick and they want it yesterday. City and Liverpool have signed players so they want one too otherwise we are an embarrassing incompetent mess.
Through envy United have become figures of hate over the years and any negative story is a big story. It’s just a shame that our own fans have started buying in to that narrative.

I've been out this afternoon when apparently...things have been happening? Skim reading about 8 pages.

Are things look good again? Is the stuff about Barcelona needing Lever No. 4 legit?

What the feck is going on?!

Surely if offering a signing on bonus was a viable option then certain the likes of Ducker, Whitwell or Luckhurst would have already mentioned it.

My guess is the club dont want another Sanchez like situation, offering a huge signing on bonus to FdJ then means hes on a different pay scale to others and it muddies the water again which seems to be the thing we are trying to avoid under the new regime.

How long does it take to prepare, structure and activate palanca 4?

Yeah, I agree we shouldn’t have to. But I don’t think we really care whether it’s right, probably nobody does. The bottom line is the issue. We don’t want to pay another £17m on top of what we previously agreed. Barca of course pretended there’s no problem at all but they forgot that Frenkie’s not a mug.

It’s a total shambles. I suppose we’ll end up paying it but that’ll take the outlay over £100m, won’t it? Crazy.

Depends really on how badly ten Hag wants de Jong. I'm sure if he asked the board to pay it, then they probably would, but as it stands why should they? They obviously don't see the Chelsea threat as anything to worry about at the moment for whatever reason, so we're happy to carry on as is.

No idea what they know, but it must be something that's got ten Hag and the board very confident.

Nothing ever happens , the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before.

Agreed. How anyone can blame United for Barca not paying the wages it owes to FDJ is beyond me. We agreed a fee some time ago with Barca. FDJ is not going to come out and state he wants to leave because it weakens his position with trying to extract what he’s owed.

i think it’s more we knew we needed a striker since the greenwood tape….forget de Jong most sensible people appreciate that’s a special case…

He was never going to say he wanted to leave, because he quite obviously doesn't want to leave. He's being pushed out against his will. Of course he could stay on his current deal, but you know for a fact if that happens they'll truly make life miserable for him

How long does it take to prepare, structure and activate palanca 4?
About an hour but you'll need quite a few things in preparation first though like:

Onion, bell pepper, garlic, tomatoes, parsley and peas.

Spices like bay leaf, paprika, saffron, salt and pepper.

Seafood like jumbo shrimp, mussels and calamari.

Chicken thighs since they dont dry out as fast as breast.

Spanish olive oil or any quality olive oil.

White wine

Spanish Rice

Chicken Broth instead of fish stock for convenience

Am I the only one that keeps reading palanca as placenta ?

I was confused as hell when reading Barca were activating their 3rd placenta.

Need those goatfeckers back here. It felt like De Jong deal was really on when they were wumming here.
They could also be in hiding thanks to Laporta fecking up the lever money and falling €150m short.

Maybe they can't actually think of a good defense for him so they're hiding until it all blows over... could actually be in the Winchester having a pint you know?

Think that pretty much says all there is to say there. Looks like Chelsea aren't as interested as made out to be
Im not sure; it likely means that the stuff about FdJ not wanting to go is true, and once he gives a hint that he is open to a possibility of going, then we'll bid. I have quietly been of the opinion he will end up staying anyway

Fun fact: In Sopranos season 6, when Junior shoots Tony he says "cazzata palanca", signifying that he knew barcelona would feck up this bad.

Why is the / in this thread title different to the \ in the other transfer thread titles?

Just get rid of the /\ altogether. They are fecking up the mojo.
