Cheers for another 1000, you handsome bastards and beautiful ladies!

It's like turning a new leaf.

Erm Barca need every cent. I don't see how they would just pay him 17m if they can get out of it.
Why would they pay it? They have no need to. Ideally they sell him for 60m, spend that on Silva and dont pay him any of the money owed. Or worst case for them is he takes a pay cut and waives the 17m and they keep him, and they dont get silva. Legally they have no reason to pay the money
That’s exactly my point lads. Whichever side of the argument you believe, him not moving is not making sense.

If we believe he isn’t owed anything, then the only reason this isn’t happening is because he really doesn’t want to leave. That’s it. Nothing else is blocking the move.

If we believe he is owed 17m, then it makes zero sense why Barca wouldn’t pay it and then make back 60m in the transfer fee. If for arguments sake they do legally owe him. It’s like when you want to sell a car you no longer want which you bought on finance. You pay off what you owe the finance company, then sell the car for a lump sum.

My point is, whichever side you accept, the fact that FDJ is staying put can only be for one reason and that’s the guy is hell bent on not moving.

The way up to the top of the mountain is always longer than you think. Don't fool yourself, the moment will arrive when what seemed so near is still very far."

If I am not wrong then in recent years no trasnfer failed which crossed 1000 pages on caf. If this is not a good omen then what is?

Im sure we took Sancho, Vidal and Pogba ones for the 1000 ride. Can someone confirm?

Barcaforum, your forum is shit. The layout is almost as big a mess as the club itself.

This point doesn’t even make sense, though.

If he feels entitled to the money then he wants that money, Barcelona legally do not owe him it, however morally it’s a bit more tricky. What essentially is following is brinkmanship, with Barcelona making him 7th choice centre back and assuming that will make him forego the money, which Frenkie isn’t blinking. At some point somebody has to blink, whether it’s Frenkie taking a paycut and staying (likely to be moved back to midfield if this happens) or Barcelona selling him.

If I felt like I was owed 17 million euros I’d stick around until I made at least a good chunk of it too.

Feck off barcaforum

They have 869 pages /13k posts on him... he's been there a few years now. There's no love there. I like this post though.

The guy is willing to take a paycut of 50%, be back up CB behind Kounde & Araujo over joining Manchester United.. Must be a gigantic slap in the face for their fanbase. Beautiful scenes, absolutely disgusting fanbase who think everyone would join that pathetic club.

I would still prefer to sell him for that 85M fee, maybe we should give Chelsea some discount for hijacking all their transfer targets so Tuchel can stop crying about Barca.

if you took out all the posts about how many posts there were and just had the ones that focussed on Frenkie, I reckon you'd have only 500 pages!

In future years when he is leading us back to glory, people will look back upon this momentous hour as the turning point for the club. Banners will be raised, toasts of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be drafted, and, as one, we will chant the songs of olden times to remind us of this saga!

If this falls through, we have £70/80m spare. Do you think the club would spread that out across other targets? I hope they've got a plan in place for that scenario.
