I’ve not really seen that much of him but I watched some highlight packages from recent games and he looks like someone Pep would be having wet dreams about. How is he defensively every game I could see or highlight reel was Ajax on top and him just popping it about.
I’m in the get Ndombele and Ruben Neves camp but i’ll Try and catch a few more games of this guy. They play France this week right? I imagine Ndombele will play a part.

Not sure why Jose would want to sign a ball playing CDM. Doesn't look tall enough either.

The only CM we've bought post SAF who was good enough was Pogba. The rest have been plodders and our current plight has alot to do with our shambolic recruitment.

Both De Ligt and De Jong will have their pick of the top clubs in Europe this summer. We will not be first in line for any of those two.
Matic may be declining now, but he was certainly a good enough defensive midfielder for Manchester United. He was as good as most defensive midfielders in the game.
He was a very good play brother, but apart from a short spell last season he has been found wanting. His legs have gone imo..
You could argue that if he was really that good and amazing and had his best years ahead of him Chelsea won't have sold him to a top 6/4 rival.

I still haven't seen anything in Fred to justify the 50m transfer fee we paid. I hope I'm wrong but I feel he will be someone who will be in and out of the team before eventually being moved on.
We don't know how Ndombele and de Jong might do here. Fred certainly needs more chances and games too. He might be better than Ndombele and de Jong. He shouldn't be written off yet. Pereira might be good too, just that the stars aren't aligning for him.

I hope i'm wrong about Fred, but from what i've seen thus far i've been disappointed. Ndombele i've watched quite abit along with De Jong and both players have much more in the locker in comparison.
Bit harsh. He hasn't even had half a season. I still think he will come good. Perhaps not 50m good, though.
Would be a step in the right direction. You can't possibly expect us to sort the mess Mourinho has us in one window. But it would be a brilliant window if we managed to get the four players mentioned.

We’ve no hope of signing him. He’s destined for Barca, unless Pep manages to get in his ear. Dutch academy graduates from Ajax are obsessed with Barca, it’s the obvious and natural progression.
The kid has been absurd tonight...just casually dominating the midfield against the world champions like it’s nothing.
Yeah I’m sold, I missed the start but just casually strolling about playing some fantastic balls, in all honesty he looks to me like he would be nailed on to be a City or Barca player. I just can’t see Jose going for this type of player.
Loved this game, and he also impressed off the ball, for instance to lure the marking French players to create space elsewhere. Such an intelligent player.

Two or three worldclass passes but played very defensively against France. Shielded the defence the entire match, yet very little balls back to the keeper, forward balls only. Amazing player already.
Mourinho needs to stop scouting Croatia players and watch this kid.

De jong showed tonight that he's the next midfield superstar. I would go all out for this guy, we could build our team around him and pogba. Reminds me of scholas the way he's so composed and dictates the play. A wow performance. Buy him now and leave him at ajax until the summer. Get rid of matic, periera and possibly Herrera.
He was marked by Kante, pretty smart solution. Didn't work out though
He really hates passing backwards or towards the goalkeeper. The way he plays is like the total opposite of our current United team.

De jong played the defensive midfielder today but still controlled the midfield, he dominated kante. He still managed get pulled down for the penalty, class act.
He is a must have, but definately not undrr Mourinho with his antiquity football.
Agree dumfries was very impressive, where did he come from? Looks a real player tonight.
I know there are wildly different opinions about this, but I like to think of De Jong plus Pogba as a dream combination, where they add to each other's strengths and compensate the other's weaknesses. The Brain and the Power, and both with superior technical abilities. Don't care if it's at Barca or Manchester United, but would love to see it happen.
