Not gonna happen is it, we're never in the running for these special players. Last one we got was Ronny
Brace for Florentino's godfather offer in january for this kid and De Ligt(mostly De Ligt)
beta has been out a couple of weeks I thinkHow do you know the FM19 stats already?
Spend what ever they want for him and De Ligt. We'd be sorted in two positions for years to come with potential world class talents.
But we're United. Madrid sign De Ligt and we sign an aging Ramos for 100m - The United way.
How would we even line up with FDJ? Barca seem to want him next to Arthur and Busquets. We would put him next to Matic then, not in his place..

How many of these youngsters have turned out to be a successful investment? Not gonna happen is it, we're never in the running for these special players. Last one we got was Ronny

If we listened to this nonsense we would have a 130m Dembele on the right, A couldn't lace his boots - next Xavi in Thiago as a midfielder, Ascensio shooting from 45 yards out with little else and a Scandanvian kid who we would have sold to Everton already.
All these must have, cream of the next generation seem to be a dime a dozen. Lets wait until next summer when Sancho is the can't fail player to sign that we never go for..
Surely most teams would take Thiago, Dembele and Acsensio, no? I haven't seen too much of the latter but I'd have Thiago and Dembele at United for sure. How many of these youngsters have turned out to be a successful investment?

Fernandinho is surely one of the first names on the team sheet. He's the anchor for all they do (or amI muddling him with someone?)He would play in Fernandinho's position at City. They might ease him in for the first couple of months, but he'd be first name on the teamsheet by the end of the season.
We should offer Ajax £40m plus Matic. Barca were quoted like £45m for him, so surely they'd accept that.

I guess it's meant in terms of player types - as in "even a WC attacking mid"."Beckenbauer and even Kaka".. eh what?
Teams would take them yes but they're not generational talents who we must break the bank for and can carry us for a decade as they're made out to be.Surely most teams would take Thiago, Dembele and Acsensio, no? Anyway Overmars said 3-4 (major) players will leave in the summer "anyway". Disappointed with that I have to say but that surely includes de Jong. Transfers in the winter will be blocked no matter what btw.
These three and Onana are the four he's talking about I suppose.Ziyech, De Ligt, De Jong?
To be fair, they are really talented and too good for the league. Plus the money you can get is hard to reject. Sad nowadays, Ajax could form a great team but have to sell every time
I agree. He is playing for Ajax, it isn't impossible in January even if some like to say so. He'll fit right in too imo.We need to go in agressively for this lad and pay over the odds to have a chance of landing him. But he's someone we need to make a concerted effort for..
Sign this guy or Ruben Neves. I'd prefer Neves, but either would be an astute signing.
Signing De Jong (and keeping Pogba) would be a massive step towards being able to go toe-to-toe with City. He’s special.
Hopefully Barcelona being skint and City being fecked by the law would give us a shot at him.

If City are signing Frankie De Jong then we should be go to them for Gundogan/Foden. No way they'l be able to give adequate playing time to Silva x2, Gundogan, Fernandinho, Foden, De Jong and De Bruyne.
Still think Gundogan can be a top player if give them, he has shown he can play well for City so he'd be a upgrade for most other top 4 teams in midfield.
Jose needs to leave first - he can't be trusted with young players
De Jong and Ndombele need to be bought in to play alongside Pogba. None of our other mids are good enough for the first team.Said it before but I would much rather go for Ndombele than De Jong and I would love to see him play alongside Pogba.
He would rather stay another year at Ajax than move to us. I mean we dont have a lot to offer for a player like him. We cant sell a project and money others have too. It is not a good period to join us right now if you are that kind of player he is. Barca and Real in Spain will be all over him and domestically, City and Chelsea are much better suited to his style and look stable for the coming years under Pep and Sarri
Really like Ndombele but like Pogba he's better suited to play slightly further up the pitch as an 8, not as a 6. A midfield of Pogba , Ndombele and De Jong would work.Said it before but I would much rather go for Ndombele than De Jong and I would love to see him play alongside Pogba.
We don't necessarily need to go to City to find recruits to come into our team. There's players out there in various leagues who could really enhance our first team but we need someone at the top to have the foresight/vision to implement a footballing identity which is missing. If City are signing Frankie De Jong then we should be go to them for Gundogan/Foden.
