Freddy Guarin

According to Gazzeta dello Sport, Inter's new owner Erick Thohir has blocked the deal. It was going to be a swap deal - Guarin for Vucinic.

Marca reporting that he's been offered (by Inter) to Atletico Madrid and to United.

They're basing that on Italian reports from Sport Mediaset. So they still think he's leaving.

Inter would have got the better end of the deal unless Vucinic has regressed.

Ultras running a football club doesn't look like very sound business to me.

I wouldn't have thought he was good enough for fans to care that much about him leaving.

Probably because it's Juve though

I thought Italian clubs were less fussy over that stuff, I seem to recall transfers between Inter and Milan and Milan and Juve in the past.

And because of Vucinic... why they would allow to swap a good midfielder for Juventus 5th striker. Doesn't make sense... Inter have to aim higher.

I didn't realize Vucinic had fallen so far, I can see why Inter fans didn't want the deal to happen. Inter seem to be a shambles in general these days.

Wouldn't be the first time Inter have made a retarded swap deal, anyone remember Cannavaro to Juve for ~8 million + The Juve reserve keeper?

I would take him at United
Would Guarin be good enough for united or would signing him just be a stop gap measure

He would be a decent signing and can settle during the next few months and then we can further strengthen in the summer by adding 1 or 2 others.

I think we could perhaps consider a loan move for him in January. He isn't cup-tied either.

They didn't do so well with Cassano-Pazzini swap although it looked decent at the time.

Hope not.

Sign the very top players or stick with what we have. No more average stop gaps

I doubt many 'Top' players would be willing to join us with our current state unless we offer astronomical wages. Guarin looks like a good player who will play in CM role and be well adept to the premier league and he would actually improve our team believe it or not.

We just signed one and we can sign more.

He's not even that good. Hope we go nowhere near him

Because Vucinic is a better player than Guarin.

As I said a while back, I'd be shocked if there was any truth to us being remotely interested in him. He'd be a decent squad player which is why it's not bizarre to see him linked with teams like Juventus where they aren't in serious need of a top quality first eleven player. Guarin to us genuinely makes barely no sense at all.

Don't know how good Guarin is, but I'm not that happy about swapping him with Hernandez, which seems to be what Inter are after..

Is he really worth it?

Mixed views in here. Looks like YouTube will have to swing it for me then.

He never seems to get glowing reviews from people who watch a lot of Italian football... which probably means something.

Well seeing as you're the first person Ive seen refer to him as lazy. I suppose I do.

Hes a box to box type player, they're not usually considered "lazy"...

You suppose? You either have an opinion or you don't. If you don't why bother ask me!!

If Juventus fancy him with that midfield of theirs he can't be that bad?

Only seen Guarin play once recently. That was against a mediocre Milan. He was no more impressive than Fellaini has been.
