Frank Lampard

Most likely? They got relegated a while ago.

Rooney had a really, really hard job though and (rightly) he won't get any blame.
I hadn't been following them for a while. But yes, you are right, they have now been relegated. I think Rooney did well all things considered, and if he get's them promoted and re-established he'll show that he's got actual potential.

The FA Cup isn’t for another 2 weeks. I don’t think Chelsea will be “saving themselves” for that just yet.
Looks like Chelsea are
Which will cost them the fa cup with no momentum

Meanwhile Lampard needed that, huge win. Next two games are both winnable

His record is way better than Benitez for last six months unless I've missed something.

Of course away form remains poor but with Watford away (and even Leicester) they have huge chance to correct it. Home form though has actually been very good on the whole.

His first game was a 3-0 win v Leeds which could be very crucial now and has also won v Newcastle, Man. United and Chelsea. Was only 10 minutes away from getting a draw v Man. City (and they should've also got a penalty). So really from home games only poor result was losing 0-1 at home to Wolves and they were still decent two months ago.
He also should have at least a point against Liverpool if the ref had done their job properly and given them a penalty for a clear foul on Anthony Gordon.

Yeah we're definitely on the beach. Have been since the CL elimination.

Charged by the FA for saying:

"It was a penalty, you don't get them at Anfield.. If that was Mohamed Salah at the Kop end, I think [the referee] gives that. It was a foul on Anthony"

It is alleged his comments "constitute improper conduct as they imply bias and/or attack the integrity of the match referee".

Speaking truth to power. I guess he's only a Tory outside of work.

Go get 'em sir.

Charged for speaking facts. When was the last time someone was given a penalty there?

He's been relying mainly on Pickford flying around his goal like the second coming of Yashin, but he's definitely figured out the need to play like a side in a relegation fight and grind out some shithouse wins by any means.

He started off pretty naively, but I don't think anybody else left in that scrap is going to out-naive Leeds now.

Interesting to see how he reshapes the side over the summer.

With Richarlison one side (if they don't sell him) and Gordon the other that's at least a counter attacking identity to build on and they played some decent possession football at times today so think they can get back up to the giddy heights of 11th or 12th next season if they sign 2-3 decent players for defence and midfield.

Unbelievable. The amount of shit Klopp talks when he doesn’t get his own way.

Never thought I would see him as a mature leading figure after that weird sex tape of his back in the day.
One of my favorite non united players, I'm kinda rooting for him.

Another young manager getting pounded before he's really had a chance to get his feet under the table at Everton. The same as Arteta. There's something about managers that get an opportunity that people perceive as "unfair" and then ridiculous and disproportionate criticism that comes their way.

If he keeps them up you judge him after a summer of transfers and how he looks next season.

Frank again complaining about the refereeing again, This week its the Brentford game where he figures they should have had a penalty.
The Refs must just love him.

He’s right though. I’m glad he keeps calling it out.

Errrrr okay mate? It's probably the clearest pen you'll ever see and within 10 seconds Brentford go up the other end where an Everton player is sent off for a foul. VAR and the refs clearly fecked them over because it should have been a pen awarded for Everton and the red card should have been wiped out given it happened after the incident. If it was my team I'd be fecking fuming.

There's always been something strangely likeable about Lampard, you just get the sense he's a decent bloke. I'll be happy for him and Everton if they avoid the drop and I hope it's at Leeds' expense.

He's not wrong. They got royally shafted in the Brentford game and in a couple of other games recently.

Apparently at the time of the red card/non penalty decision we already had an xG of 1.55. The game was in our hands completely. We even managed to get to halftime 2-1 up with 10 men. I don’t doubt that we would have easily won if we got that penalty/no red.

Part of the problem for me is in the reputation of Richarlison. He goes down so easily that I think refs are a bit hesitant to make the call. Maybe instead of calling out the refs, he should call out his own players & tell them to stay on their feet.

Not surprised he talked about the ref rather than his own inability to see out the game.

Or the referees should do their job and book Richarlison if he is diving and give us the foul if it is a foul.

To be fair this is a situation where he probably should have gone down, he was clearly being held and pulled around inside the box and if he made more of it he might well have got the decision. Staying on his feet allowed the ref the convenient excuse of waving it off as two players wrestling for the ball when the replays clearly showed that Richarlison did nothing wrong and was being fouled and I say that as someone who cannot stand the guy.

He wouldn't see half time most games.

He probably wouldn’t do it as much then. Refereeing standards in the PL allow diving to still exist because they still don’t book it enough/they don’t give free-kicks/penalties for legitimate fouls.

Yeah, it's one of the worst aspects of the current game, yellow cards for diving just don't seem to happen anymore. They treat it almost like the 6 second rule for keepers, it's just something on the books that they've collectively decided not to enforce.

That combined with players feeling like they need to go over because referees are too fecking weak to give anything if they stay on their feet gives us a lot of what's embarrassing about modern football (along with the timewasting shite, which would also be solved by stronger refereeing).

I agree in that I would like to see diving called way more. I still feel that Refs have a small amount of bias against the habitual divers & make calls based on that bias.

He's just an English OGS but glad Everton are staying up.
