Frank Lampard

The Everton fans seem to still absolutely fecking hate Benitez and blame him (along with the owners, which is fair enough) for the situation, and few of them seem to have a bad word to say about Lampard.

Indeed.

Very similar to an awful lot of Man United's fans views on Ragnick. OGS, the players and the owners get all the blame and Ragnick seemingly gets credit for saying how shit everything is, while improving nothing himself.

In my opinion Lampard has done a shit job at Everton, just like Benitez did before him. He's taken them from 16th to 18th, it's not a nosedive but he's done nothing to stop their fall.

Ole really was a much better manager than this fraud.

He really wasn’t, both aren’t real managers at all and never should have gotten any of their jobs in the Premier League. «We gotta work our way out of it and work hard» says Lampard about the embarrassing relegation fight, sounds like something both could say. Putting on a jacket with initials and shouting «shoot, kick, run, let’s go» isn’t going to save Everton, it didn’t save Cardiff and we all know where this is headed.

If it wasn't for our specialist relegation fodder points donation service, they'd already be gone.

Still annoys me.

I don't dislike Everton all that much but that 4-4 game still grates, we really should've beaten them at home this season to send them packing.

Said the Chelsea squad wasn't good enough. Tuchel won the CL.
Said the Everton squad isn't good enough. Relegation elect.

B...b....but.....it can't be me. I have an IQ of 150 and a GCSE in Latin.

I know punditry is full of failed managers but this is failure on such a scale that I'd feel daft myself listening to him on Sky or BT if he ends up retreating to punditry himself.

Yes. I need to find the twitter thread that shows how financially bad it will be for us. People like Gomes are on c. 100k a week. What’s to say he won’t do what Rodwell at Sunderland did and refuse to leave which he would be entitled to do? Aside from that other clubs will know we need to get rid and won’t be offering big money for our players. It’s going to be disastrous for the club. Our finances are so shocking that the parachute payments aren’t going to cover it.

Is it that bad going down ? They'll probably come straight back up, give the fans something to cheer about, win the Championship.

It’s kind of glaringly obvious from this thread too who actually watches the games/has insight to the club and who just reads the papers/checks the scorelines.

If they keep their young players and build around them they will come back up, likely stronger.

Lampard has been awful and they will likely get rid. Patterson for example, looks a ridiculous talent playing for Scotland. Can’t get ahead of two of the worst right backs in the league. Now he’s out injured and Lampard made a comment saying he was about to start him. The Ukrainian lad at left back was in and out the team.

I can’t believe any Premier League football manager would rate Jonjoe Kenny.

Players will leave but if Everton keep their young players and get rid of the likes of Keane, Coleman, Kenny etc.

Pickford, Patterson, Branthwaite, Godfrey, Mykolenko, Gordon, Gray, Calvert-Lewin and Townsend would give a really decent foundation to prepare for the championship. Maybe even Dele Ali would find his feet at that level.

The likes of Richarlison and Allan will leave though I’d imagine.

Do you think Pickford and DCL will stay? They won’t. Both are England internationals.

Going down will be horrendous for Everton and will cost them a fortune. They have a squad on huge money.

There always appeared to be a huge amount of Everton fans who were pining for Lampard to come in as well. Which always seemed insane to me. I get that they hated Benitez, but Lampard? Really? Disasterous appointment. The worst thing is, it was always going to be a terrible appointment. This isn't a case of being a smartarse in hindsight. It was always an incredibly dumb decision.

However callous it might sound, there's no denying there's a certain excitement at the possibility of a club this Everton going down. It's undeniable.

If we're going to pick at the carcass, I'd take DCL at United, to be honest.

English managers who are top ex players always seem want to go in the deep end without learning about management. Being an ex pro simply doesn't qualify you! Almost totally different jobs. It's board level at clubs too.

Lampard or Rooney would be better served being assistant manager to a top coach before going near the big chair. Arteta gets loads of criticism but at least was prepared to do that.

It's amazing no English manager ever won the Prem, doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon either..

Simply cannot understand fans on social media wanting us to lose today, because its Lampard, and they dont want to beat him. Some proper weirdos out there

If they're posting about football on Twitter, they're obviously a weirdo.

We've not got anything to play for in the league, if we can help Frank and stitch up Leeds, I won't lose any sleep.

Has Lampard lost a load of hair in the past 3/4 months?

No, no... when you do that with footballers, like you said about Leeds, about a man like Fat Frank... I've kept really quiet. But I'll tell you something, I'd love it if they beat them, love it!

Thats a fair point, but wanting to lose because the oppo manager is a Chelsea legend, is just nuts, in general

Speaking of picking at the carcass if Everton do gown down, with all the flogging De Gea takes here for not being a modern keeper would anyone here take Pickford?

I wouldn’t, but I’m just curious if Pickford would be on a wish list.

You're welcome sir Lampard. Destiny still in your hands

God no. He’s awful.

I would rather Burnley be relegated than Everton. Too big of a club to go down.

I’d rather play Henderson.

His record is way better than Benitez for last six months unless I've missed something.

Of course away form remains poor but with Watford away (and even Leicester) they have huge chance to correct it. Home form though has actually been very good on the whole.

His first game was a 3-0 win v Leeds which could be very crucial now and has also won v Newcastle, Man. United and Chelsea. Was only 10 minutes away from getting a draw v Man. City (and they should've also got a penalty). So really from home games only poor result was losing 0-1 at home to Wolves and they were still decent two months ago.

Terrible idea

He's just a poor man's Lloris. He'll look like Superman one week and then chuck one in the next. Wouldn't go near him even if he wasn't a giant bellend.

Speaking of stupid ideas in the vein of Liverpool from the naughties.

Rooney is doing really well at Derby despite most likely getting relegated. The only reason they will get relegated is because of the huge points deduction they got due to their financial issues. He's started off his career, like Lampard in a lower league, but apparently because now Derby is struggling it's putting yourself in the deep end? Loads of managers or just people in general are thrust into the deep end to learn a job be it voluntarily or not.

For all the abuse he has got, he now has wins against Utd and Chelsea and he should've seen them get something out of their games against City and the Dippers but was fecked by VAR.

I keep saying he's got the potential to be a good coach and those type of results show but as of now he's far too erratic in a overall sense (ie he'd compete in those games above but then play a sucidial high line against a Conte side).

It's all about whether the promise outstrips the greeness in the coming years and I honestly don't know which way he's going to go.
