Gaming Football Manager 2024

I always use Everton as my beta save and then start a journeyman or lower league club as my first full game save.

Sweet, United for the beta and then onto a build a nation or Conference N/S to Prem.

Because of the new save modes you can sign Messi on a free in one of them.

I might do Inter Miami actually. Start with them in a journeyman save.

That whole set piece thing seems cool and all.. but realistically I'm just gonna hire a coach with good set piece stat and give it to him to deal with it

I barely touched FM23, but bought it as always. I wonder if I'll bother with this.

Barely touched 23 as well but now with a year of not playing it plus some actual fixes I’m looking forward to doing a save.

I guess there's that. This was supposed to be a proper send off for the current version of Football Manager, so maybe it's only right to get back into it. I assume it's the same procedure as every year for fixing faces, logos and team and competition names? And Germany, of course. Always Germany.

I barely touched FM22, didn't purchase FM23 and it's nearly killing my desire to play the game. If you have hope to keep playing, purchasing it is the way to go.

I've bought every edition since... 01/02? I'm not sure whether I played 00/01, otherwise I'd go back to CM2 97/98.

I think you've both convinced me to buy it, with every different approaches.

Have been watching a Lollujo save where he is playing as Chelsea on a real world save. Few bugs in that some players that stayed at Chelsea (such as Mount etc.) had their new club contracts rather than their old Chelsea ones. Messi also was available on a free but he ended up going to Saudi for 1.8 million per week.

It looks harder to negotiate selling players though...he tried to sell a bunch and whenever he increased the price a wee bit they instantly withdrew. The options to sell through intermediaries looked good though.

Might turn off transfers at the start of the season as it's a bit silly with the Saudi league. Spurs have sold Richarlison and Bissouma so far to them...

Alvarez for only £50m!

Anyway, for me it’ll be J League

Started with United, real world save where the transfers happen as the summer goes on, and disable first window. United's squad is a mess

So bloated. Oh and Sancho picked a fight with me for a team talk. So gonna sell him even though he's been doing well. Hojlund's sadly been a bit shit. Rashford, mount and Bruno very good. Garnacho's alright. Probably -9 for both Hojlund and Garnacho.

One thing that has impressed me is the Development List actually seems to work. I put someone on it and teams want to loan the player. Never really had much luck with it previously but it may also be that I'm managing Chelsea with good young players.

I'm assuming United are still being asses with their license right? Which means I can't get it for PS5 :(

Edit: Unless I want to take a J3 League team to the Club World Cup...

Started a real world save same as you and couldn't manage to offload a single player who was not already coded to leave. So, Maguire, DVB, Sancho, McT are all still here. Hired intermediaries and the best they could muster up was some loan offers for DVB which he promptly went on to reject all of them. Didn't seem any different from last year's game. You always get only loan offers for your unwanted players on the deadline day.

Oh and Sancho picked a fight with me as well because I was trying to sell him. Him and DVB are chilling in the U21s for being cnuts.

Hojlund took some time after his injury but has started to look alright for me. We just thrashed Chelsea 5-1 and he was MOTM.

Near post inswinging corners are still OP. Maybe just chuck him at the near post. Will feast on them with Bruno and Eriksens deliveries.

Interesting that Greenwood ins't in the database in Your World but is at Getafe on the main game.

£40.49 on Steam!

Had some old credits on CDKeys from years of buying PSN money so I managed to get it for £28.50. No access to the beta but that's fine. Everyone can play test it, make skins, etc.. and then I'll start Nov 6th.

£35 here with Beta access via Steam.

I know someone who works at Sports Interactive. Going to see if I can get this for free. LinkedIn message incoming.

Don't buy this game. Glazers just gave me an extra £70m to spend in January 'to help further consolidate our ambitions in the league'. This was on a real world start.

Realism is out the door this year.

When is the full release scheduled?

As another poster recommended to me, might cop it on Game Pass rather than forking out full price for this.

Anyone had a feel for the Match Engine yet?

Yep. Still buying based on rep. Arsenal in 2028 under Arteta have just bought a 34 year old Kepa for 70m.

Who has played promptly ONE game.

70m for a backup keeper.

Same with everything. The youngest player in the England team is 26. France are still playing a 33 year old Lucas Hernandez who is on retirement in Saudi and Germany are still playing Kimmich despite playing for Al-Ittihad for 5 years and is now a free agent.

This is disappointing to hear. Means one of the biggest advertised changes is essentially bullshit.

Another comment:

No I don't actually, Bayern just signed 3 midfielders, Andrich and Palacios from Leverkusen and Kone from Gladbach, that makes no sense, why would Leverkusen empty their midfield to their rival, why would Bayern buy 3 midfielders on top of Kimmich, Gorerzka, Laimer while their system plays with only 2. Kane immediately injured at his debut for 4 months, I'm at the winter break now and they didn't give Tel any minutes so far, like literally 0.
