Gaming Football Manager 2024

Dynamic potential? Fixed AI? Realistic player reactions? Meh, heard it all before.

But a brand new role, IWBs that work with DMs, and a Libero in a back four? That, I can most certainly work with!

Sounds promising, might actually allow myself to get excited for this

Instead of you needing to manually assign instructions to specific positions, instructions are now automatically assigned by your backroom team to each of these four role categories. For example, instead of saying that you want your right-side central defender to attack the far post, your biggest Aerial Threat will now be given that job. Each role category is ranked from top to bottom, with the top instruction being assigned to your most suitable player on a matchday.

These rankings automatically update as you change team selection, formation or make substitutions, meaning that you'll no longer need to micromanage your setups every time something changes.

This is so much better. Doing it by position was so dumb and didn't account for changes in line-ups, etc...

So what attributes are they going to include? As an example, for GK coach they had handling, distriubtion and shot stopping, so possibly freekicks, corners and anything else? Like penalties?
Ahh, I thought they would add more attributes rather than just have a single "Set Piece" attribute.

Saying that, this is already way more exciting than FM23. Feels like last year they had to do that video with all the staff introducing features to promote it just because how little was done on that game.

Is the Nintendo Switch version the same as the PC version? Haven't played FM in years, but might give the Switch version a go if it's not some stripped down game.

Yeah. I didn't feel compelled to get 23 and just kept playing 22.

Will be getting this one though.

The "Your world" option is pretty interesting.
I don't think I understand it completely. Isn't it basically starting 2023 season with none of the transfers that happened in real life?

Usually the Switch version is based on the FM Touch game, which is a slightly stripped down version,
Still had most of the bells and whistles just cuts out some of the real deep dive aspects of the full game.
The match engine is generally the same though.

Dunno what Carl Anka has to do with FM, but it's very nice to not have to see Miles's ugly fecking mug for a change on some of this stuff!

As a Carl Anka enjoyer it’s always good to see him on stuff.

Seems like it, but that seems like a great feature to me. Always end up wanting to do a full squad overhaul at the start of a save and half of the players can't be sold because they've only just been signed or been given new contracts.

Quality of life upgrades next week. They’re my favourite.

Some of the new animations and ball physics in the match engine look great, I am sure when they revamp and go to the Unity Engine next year it will look 10x better. It has been lagging for years when you consider what Codemasters was able to do on a console nearly 20 years ago.

I wanna get this on mobile, is it any good? Also, what is FM Touch?

Not played it, but pretty sure FM Touch is like a watered down version of FM, with less of the more detailed features. I'm not sure how scaled back it is or what features are missing though.

So touch and mobile are different games? Oh and thanks.

Makes sense when you put it that way. I did want to sometimes sell the players that we just signed.

Ahh well mobile it is for me then.

One more question (sorry). Can you transfer save files to the next game?
No worries at all. I know for FM24 they are making a big deal of transferring saves from previous years. But I think its for only the main game not for the touch or mobile versions.

Ahh ffs. Looks like next year I'll be starting in the championship

Thanks for all the answers bud. I'm gonna get it and get more involved in this thread.

Can't wait to sign Mitoma to Luton

My worry with this is that it's only going to work without editor files, and I literally don't start a game without sortitoutsi's license fix files as a minimum.

I have Netflix. Will touch also be released for mobile?
Touch was an Apple arcade only release the other year I think.

The mobile game is decent to be fair though, I'd say it's around FM2008 territory, plenty of depth and a good 2D match engine, but quick enough to play through a season in a week.

Unless I got you wrong, Luton will be in Prem in FM24 though.
