Gaming Football Manager 2016

Going to be great fun playing United on FM2017. Start the game, right click Fellaini, "offer to clubs." First window done.

That feeling when PSG comes in with an enquiry for my best striker, I tell them £91m (release clause) and they bid £19m. Seriously?

Finally settled into a journeyman save which I'm enjoying.
Started at Portsmouth, destroyed league 2 and got promoted with just 1 loss aswell as winning the Johnstones paint trophy. Got offered a job by Sunderland who got relegated to the championship with a decentish squad and budget. Resigned around christmas after the players started kicking off & I couldnt get them to play the same way I got my Portsmouth team to play. Applied for the Southampton job around March time who were 18th and fighting relegation. Took over another decent squad with low morale however beat West Ham on the last game of the season to survive and send them down instead. Following season I lost Pelle to Fiorentina but signed Gignac who turned into a monster and got me 9th position and a FA Cup. Spurs meanwhile finished 5th after winning the title the season before, sacked Rudi Garcia and I applied and got the job. They had a brilliant squad with players like Gabriel Barbosa, Danilo and Thiago Maia and I won the title in my 1st season as well as the Europa League. About to start my 2nd season and I just signed Kante, Johnathan Tah and Icardi to provide competiton for Kane. Got a brand spanking new stadium too

I really hate the match engine. >50% of goals are far post tap-ins from a long, high cross. Or sometimes low but not so often. Anyway it's always a far post cross.

It's so fecking annoying because I feel like anything other than a team built around crossing is a team that could've been a lot better.

Or is it just me?

And attacking sidebacks with high crossing are the best players in the game. The game is so fecking broken.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Made two signings, probably my only two for this window.

A promising young winger, from a recommendation from my scout. Paid 400k:

And a decent looking young GK for 160k

Jensen looks really good!

Been exploiting the free u-21's market....

Olmo will turn my weakest position(right CM) into one of my strongest.

Mattiello should do a job all up and down the left wing.

SO I've made myself some transfer rules:

Max age is 23
Must be Scandinavian
Max fee is 5 Million

My last signing of the window too...

What's it called?

Barcelona and PSG are absolutely mad in my save. Keep on bidding for my players. PSG just offered me 65m for Adnan. Barcelona took away Blind and Mario Fernandes for 80m combined.

Also Gribbin turns out to be fantastic. Also got an once in a generation player. Do they usually mean -10 potential? Started him two games when we had already won the title and he had a 7 rating in both.

Given up with Ajax already, too easy. Gonna start in League 2 I think.

EDIT: Ok I'm starting at Barnet. Gonna commit to this save.

Watching videos of Ravel today, made me want to manage him.

Started a game on FMT as Lazio. They've acutually got a fecking class squad

Keita, Candreva, Felipe Anderson, Cataldi, De Vrij, Ravel, Parolo, Biglia are all good players.

Only signing was Balanta for 6 Mil and Bonazzoli on a FT who joins me next year.

Oh, smashed the league in the 2nd season, and scraped a cup win with it. Lost out in the Europa QF's to Lazio, after knocking out Spurs.

Then this lad joined on a free....

FM lords, I seek your advices.

I've fecently found out that I'm going to try and be a revolutionary genious. It has led me to come up with a brand new type of football. I've yet to come up with a name for it, but it is essentially a very assymetric type of possession football where the team attacks on only one side of the pitch.

The formation would look something like this
1490831_Football_Manager_Team.jpg

The thought is that the team, while in possession, will overload the right or left hand side of the pitch and tiki-taka their way through the opposition. As we all know, the FM opposition wouldn't make significant tactical changes to hinder this style so it should work.

Or will it? Just wanted some thoughts before I spend hours trying to make this work.

I would think, not saying it will happen, but I'd wonder if your players would get in each others way. Your DLF is going to want the same spaces the 10 does, and your wingback will want to run the same channels as your winger. Your winger can't cut inside to make room for the wingback as there'll be about four guys in that area.

Oh, another variation worth thinking about, make your right back the defensive one, and the LB the really attacking one, lots of clear room to run down, and you'll be overloading where his crosses will be landing with forwards.

It's inspired by how Barcelona overloaded their midfield just fine under Pep. Hopefully the players won't get in each others way too much. I doubt making the opposite sideback the attacking one would work, as the idea is that the stupid FM opposition wouldn't overload the same side as me to stop me, so they would still have a right centre back, a right back, a right centre mid and a right winger to stop my lonesome left back.

Two things.

1) Genius* (sorry)
2) Those are the famous last words of everyone who plays this game and eventually turns mental

Took over Brentford as they got promoted to the PL. Fecking Alan Judge (who is that) and some others got a wage raise to £85k when I signed Ravel Morrison as they had a clause of earning as much as the highest earner in the club (or whatever that clause is called in english). The worst part is, I didn't even pay Ravel half of those 85k. And of course, he has the fecking same clause so he earns 85k as well. Had to quit the game because of that fecking clause.

Worst thing is, I was on the verge of building a fecking good team with Michael Keane at CB, Jordy Clasie at CDM, Jesse Lingard, Ravel Morrison and some dude from Dnipro Dnipropetropotrovokosk with 19 vision in midfield together with the billionaire Alan Judge. feck me

1 and 2/3 seasons in at Lazio. This I my current team:

Pickford is a backup as Marchetti is injured but apart from that its pretty much my first XI

Also have Milik who was a bargain at 6.5 Million I think but he too is injured.

How's Ravelinho doing?
And how the feck did you get Laporte, Alli and Saul?
