Gaming Football Manager 2016

Probably 2030 or something on FM10. I had turned Inter into the greatest club ever, would have continued but the save became so slow, would take 5 minutes to process anything.

Some dude on an fm forum claims to have played through too 2518.

I know there was a guy that would holiday hundreds of years into the future. But actually playing through..what the feck

I've never completed more than ten seasons in a row on either CM or FM, but I'm guessing that it does just go on forever with regens?

If this is the case and I completed, say, 200 hundred years in charge at United. Would my age been shown as the quite ridiculous 235? Or does the game just retire you at some point and you have to create a new profile?
It goes on forever seemingly. People have put up games going up to 3000 online but the game will just get bigger and it'll go slower as it goes on.
and age stops at 99 so you won't age from there.

and everyone else, what's the furthest you've gotten into a save? Saves where you've holidayed a season etc doesn't count.

Furthest I've gotten is 2039-40 season on FM13.

2012-23 Manchester United
2023-25 FC Halifax Town
2025-26 Newcastle United
2026-28 Arsenal
2028-32 Borussia Dortmund
2032-37 Brighton & Hove Albion
2038 Gwangju F.C.
2038-40 Manchester United

Got to 2038-39 on FM14 as well. Both times I think I quit because the new game was coming out.
2014-19 SK Brann Bergen
2019-25 Borussia Mönchengladbach
2024-26 England
2027-28 Glasgow Rangers
2028-30 Torino
2030-35 Borussia Mönchengladbach
2035-39 Manchester United
51-52 on FM14 (only stopped the career a few month ago)
2013-18: Burnley (left for United)
2018-42: Man United (resigned)
2042-44: Unemployed
2044-45: Burnley (sacked)
2045-48: Juventus (left for Bayern)
2048-50: Bayern (left for Burnley)
2050-52: Burnley (sacked)
Retired when I was sacked at Burnley

Had a striker on this save too who scored 750 goals in about 18 seasons for me. Highest was 78 in one.

Pinched a 16 year old lad from Hamilton on intake day last season for 500k and I think he's gonna be immense.

Loaned him out to Ayr for a few months (3rd tier scottish team) and including the Scotland U19 games, he's 16 bear in mind, he's got 10 goals, 10 assists in 22 games

1000 years simmed into the future, with list of winners etc.

Sheffield United is the most-winning team in the PL, with 168 wins. Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten run still stands though. :P

Love when players go on to became legends on the game. I had three defenders, Alari Naylor (RB), Nicholas Walker (CB) and Luke Stokes (CB) from the youth setup who all went on to play over 800 games for United. Luke Stokes retired after 960 games, which was more than Ryan Giggs had at that time.

On and off relationship with Burnley?

Yeah had a few players who became legends. That's why I liked the career so much because it was the same players and it was my best career ever on any FM. Plus I had 2 players who I bought as 16 year olds for Burnley and then signed them at United and they retired at United.

I did great with Burnley first time but then they became crap so I decided to go back and try to build them up but I failed, went to Juventus and Bayern, tried to make Burnley good again and ultimately failed again there.

That 31/32 is the furthest. Usually I get bored, but this time I told myself I wasn't going to sell players unless I had absolutely no choice, and it's been a lot of fun watching them have Giggs/Scholes style careers for me.

In FM05 got to 2019 with Real Madrid, Tevez became the all time leading goal scorer. Back in the day when a player would be sold when they hit 30  think my best team was

Casillas
Vanden Borre Ferdinand Woodgate Dede
Ronaldo Guarin Robben
Mokoena
Adu Tevez

Subs
Alonso
VDV
Sneijder
Joaquin
Cavanagi
Torres

I think my furthest was around 2030 or so. I did that twice. First time i spent the first few tears at Shandong in china. Dominated the league for a few years tge moved to FC Utrect and went on to dominate the league but due to lack of money i never went past the quarter finals in the Champions League.

Other time was an FC United save. Took them to mid table in the premier league and had an Irish regen that came through my academy that was the best player in the world.
Ended up taking the Barca job and brought him with me for a massive fee. He averaged at least 30 goals and 20 assists in my time at Barca from the right wing. Ended up bored with the save after i dominated the league and champions league every season. I may have went further then 2030 in that save. Can't really remember.

I've just gone to play it and it installed some update and now the game won't load. Just stays at the loading screen for ages.

Anyone else got this?

To be fair, nothing has changed there....

Absolutely smashing the German 2nd Div, which is to be expected, Leipzig have a cracking squad.

One of my players was causing a pile of hassle, as he wasn't getting played enough, then more again because he wanted to join Bournemouth, so I chucked him on the transfer list for the exorbitant price of 15m(he's really average but pacey), Swansea bit and we negotiated all too close to it.

So, a replacement was needed, and there was a massive surprise waiting in the scouting list, this fellow transfer listed for a few mil above what I just robbed off Swansea....

 There's a year extension on the contract if(when) we're promoted.

Does it happen to anyone else where they offer a player to clubs for £15m (example price) and you get 10 clubs all bidding exactly half for him?

It's just the algorithm for transfers in the game.

Also if you bid double the value for any player it will always get accepted.

2134 on FM08 (252 days, 13 hours in-game). This one I holidayed until 2027, I believe, to get rid of most of the real players, but the rest is full-on playing. Sadly, this game won't load any more if I continue the game - must be an FM08 limitation of some sort.

I also have one where I got over 2104 (226 days, 18 hours, 5 minutes in-game), but have no proof (not beyond 2134, though). My hard drive became corrupted so I lost several years.

Yes, that's over 11,500 hours spent on FM08.

Smashed the points record in the German 2nd div, but it's basically unfair when you can buy players like Brandt.

Had a pretty busy summer.

This lad came through in the first intake, both Real Madrid and Bayern are gagging for him, so I think he'll become a star.

Start of the season, Hannover's manager who began the game managing Leipzig, tipped us for relegation "they're shite, no quality, totes not #bitter".

Also in my save had a bit of a 'stroke of luck'

I was getting fed up with how things were going so I went back a year, courtesy of an earlier save. Wasn't too sure what shape the team was in but it was before I had sold Januzaj. The fortune came in the shape of him doing his cruciate ligament and being out for 7-8 month

Bayern + Milan were sniffing around so they can't buy him now and in the meantime I'll do everything in my power to get him on a new deal minus his 18 Million release clause and keep him forever whether he likes it of not :D

I hate him with a passion (Selke)

Scored bucketloads for Celtic the absolute bastard
That was only his third goal of the season for me, but literally the last second of the game as the clock rolled over into 92:00 minutes. Incredible impact.

Really I just need him to give us a season or two of form while Eggestein grows into a monster.

Started a save with Leverkusen. Brandt is ridiculous. I have no idea how to get the best out of Chicharito as a lone striker.

I always disliked how the stats of players seem to be in the Bundesliga. They'll give a player good technicals but very poor mentals or vice versa.

This is slightly ridiculous, only after loosing my first game now, 24 games in....

It actually does feel very Leicester-ish, as quite a few of my players are bang average, but I have a real pacey striker, solid(but not worldie) centre backs, and some cracking wingers.

Current table from my save. Coming to the end of the 2025/26 season now...

Cool thing is that top spot started getting automatic UCL group stage a few years ago
