I tried that out and it's working much better. The players are making better use of the space within the pitch with your suggestions. ThanksThat's one of the main formations I've been using on this save, for months in real life, and a decade in game time. Lately I prefer the usual 4-1-2-2-1/4-3-3, but the 3-4-1-2(or 5-2-1-2 as I line it up in the tactic screen), is still the "big game" setup.
I'd suggest swapping the box to box for a CM(a), he'll preform a similar role, but will get into the box a tad later, so shouldn't get in the way of the forwards. He'll also score more, in my experience. I also prefer the DLF role, but that's mainly because I don't like my strikers taking long shots so often like a false 9(in game) does.
FWIW, I find the FM false 9 acts nothing like the role does in real life, if that's what you're after, I'd suggest a Trequartista, though I can't remember if they need some instruction modifications.
