Gaming Football Manager 2010

Speaking of brazilians, Ive just signed Ramires in the january transfer window.

What a player, only played about 10 games but he has 9 goals and 5 assists. He is turning my season around, went from languishing around 12th to challenging for 5/6th.

Also signed Vagner Love but didnt realise that he has already played for 2 clubs so is ineligible to play. gutted.

I think they need a big red warning whenever a player has already played for 2 teams (it does exist, but it's white and surrounded by other white text).

Rafael's playing again and oddly enough lasted a full 90 minutes without an injury. Has a couple of games under his belt now. Unfortunately for him everyone else is also coming back from an injury so he's back into the Reserves...

Managed to get nearly all my defensive midfielders injured so I had to put O'Shea back into the squad. Then against Liverpool they fecking injure my remaining defensive midfielder so I had to use O'Shea. My nervousness subsided when O'Shea scored the second goal. Suddenly he's back in the team playing again where he's been fairly good, although I've had to recall Tunnicliffe from Rangers just in case because I really am down to just O'Shea in defensive midfield.

And this looks fun...

I love that 2 week period in every season where everything could go wrong.
I'm slightly more worried about the Arsenal fixture to be honest - Manchester City have sort of lost their way for a while and my tactic seems to work quite well against them (except when Tévez is on form ). Playing them 4 times in a row should be OK as long as I can get off to a good start and get the morale boost which helps a ton. Also helps that Bolton are bottom of the table and absolutely shite which will hopefully give my players some rest.

I think it's a doable run-in - if I progress against City (which I think I should), I'm just mostly worried about who I play afterwards because Arsenal-Newcastle-Fulham isn't really the sort of fixture list where I want European fixtures sandwiched between.

I've only got this game yesterday because I thought it'd be shite like 2008 and 2009 - I never enjoyed any of them and still played 2007 up until now, but I must say that 2010 has surprised me. I'm managing Wisla Krakow, currently sitting comfortably at top with 5-point cushion over Polonia Warsaw, that I recently beat 3-1 away from home. I only lost two league games in 24 that have been played, both against my local rival Cracovia - both due to last-minute goals!

I was very close to qualifying for group stages of CL - after seeing off Sheriff (6-0 on aggregate) and Zrinjski (3-1 agg) I lost to FC Inter of Finland - still don't know how they managed to pull off that 2-2 draw at my place, where they should have lost at least 3-0, then they beat me 2-0 at home even though I was the better side. I would have qualified from my group in the Europa League if it hadn't been for the stupid computer rebooting after I beat Toulouse 2-1 at home - I lost 2-1 on the second try and missed out. It was a difficult group with Athletic (1-1 at home, 2-1 loss away from home), Lazio (2-1 loss away from home, 3-2 win at home).

I bought some talented youngsters along with a high-profile freebie - Smolarek. I'm surprised to notice that only a small part of incomes from transfers goes into the transfer budget - I sold Marcelo for £4m to Benfica and only received £400k from that! Needless to say I couldn't find a replacement and will not sell another player in a while.

I hate feckin fans, 1st season at Southampton in the play offs, would be top if not for my 10 point deduction and they are annoyed at me, just ignore me winning the JPT and pretty much every signing I have made being considered marvellous by them they still want me out

I've just re-taken the lead in the title race 23 games into the season.

So far it's a two horse race between Schalke04 and my Hoffenheim side. I haven't lost a game in the league as yet, and my defense has conceded less than 10 goals, though I've drawn something like 8 or 9 games.

I'm looking to sign Schwaab, who seems to be a gun RB in the making as Van der Wiel just isn't developing (though he's averaging 7 in my side).

I've taken Fulham now because I got bored with Polish league - I finished 13th in my first season, got to the League Cup quarter-final and last 16 of the Europa League. I've made some promising signings - Otamendi at £3m turned out to be a huge success, Annan at £2.5m is decent, Mehmet Topal is a monster and cost me only £3.5m and then I have Salcido that I've initially taken on loan and then bought at £2m. I've recently signed Scharner at £1m along with Jovanovic and Burdisso for free. I've let some players go - Seol, Hughes, Baird, Nevland etc. and generated some nice profit so I still have money to spend. I was surprised to see that the board has given me £22m to spend in my seconds season but then I tried for every single decent defensive midfielder because I need one - and none of them will come below £15m! I'd try to get Poulsen but he's a cnut and want £60k per week that I cannot afford, so I've taken Kikoto from Udinese on loan, van der Wiel from Ajax on loan and I'm now closing a deal for Bojinov at £2.5m. I don't think I'm going to strengthen much which is a shame because I thought I could do wonders with that kind of budget. Scharner in the middle it is for me.

Just messing around on a game now, chose a club at random (Luton Town) and used the editor to give them a £1bn transfer budget :D Quite like doing this, I know it detracts from the fun of it after a while but it's interesting to see how much success you can buy.

feck, I spent a total of £25m on Kjaer and Inler and started a season with 4 defeats in a row and a fluke 1-1 draw at Bolton's place. Think I'm going to have some trouble staying up.

Just bought a 17 year old regen keeper from Fulham's under 18s, and he's already miles better than Kuszczak. Think I may have a new back-up to Lloris and he can only get better.

Nicked some German regen from Aue at the beginning of my game for EUR775k. Midfielder

34 games later in the reserves and I then chucked him in the starting XI against Stuttgart where he promptly got a 9.0 with a pass completion rate of 76.2% (48 out of 63) :D

denilson was injured by eboue in training...

there should be a direct link to offering eboue a new contract from this news feed.

Don't remind me about Walcott. I have got a sweet-sour moment with him.

For a cross from the corner, hit a brilliant overhead kick. Own goal! Wish i could make a gif of that.

Fast forward 70 minutes and leading 3-1. Last 5 minutes of the game, walcott with a superb counter attacking goal and another superb assist to a 4-3 Arsenal win.

How do you play them?

Kjaer's excellent as a 'cover' CB.

Kjaer was always my weaker centre-back but I played him as a first teamer for a good number of years hoping he would get better with age but he always stayed just on the cusp of proper class.

My last two games of the season in the Prem

Man City (A)
Man City (H)

No idea how that came about. Makes it interesting though as I'm battling with them for the title.

I played Kjaer in the middle with Hangeland, they made an excellent pairing when they gelled and I was hardly conceding any goals, Inler became excellent after eight or ten games too and started scoring, I was on a really good run - and then bah, my board decided that I wasn't getting results good enough and I got the boot. I tried at Wigan where I got the job when they were 8 points into the relegation zone with not much hope of staying up and at Newcastle where they refused to defend before giving up, I literally spent the whole day playing the Premier League and ended up giving Wisla Krakow a second try anyway. I'll probably play Premier League when I'm ready.

fecks sake I have £75m to spend and I can't find anyone worth buying. All my bids are rejected and I'm not going to pay over the odds for anyone.

I got bored with Wisla because I'm not going to win anything in Europe with them and I will probably win every single domestic trophy in the next 10 years with that squad. I'm now looking for a comfortable place to stay in Europe, presumably a mid-table French or German side with good defence and low expectations (so that they don't sack me midway through my first season). Auxerre and Monaco sound fine although I imagine they won't have any money. PSG will probably want me to win the title in my first season and don't even get me started on Marseille.

Promoted to the championship first season with Southampton, awful defence but incredible going forward, beat Leeds (.:D) and Colchester in the playoffs, had an ominous feeling when Colchester took the lead on 80 minutes mind, thank god for Robbie Blake!

One of my new signings can't settle in Coventry, will allowing him a leave of absence help?

It better had, I've just let Hlousek go back home for a month due to personal reasons.

Currently losing 2-0 to Celtic in the CL 1st Knockout Stage (first leg) due to a Diouf brace in the first 15 minutes. That'll teach me to sell The One.

Edit: Hat-trick

I am convinced there is a fix that makes me get Everton in every domestic cup. I'm 6 years into my game and I'm pretty sure I've got them at least once in either the Carling or FA Cup every single year without fail. Just got them again in the CC 4th Round.
