Gaming Football Manager 2010

Line all your players up on the goal line so you don't concede corners.

I am convinced there is a fix that makes me get Everton in every domestic cup. I'm 6 years into my game and I'm pretty sure I've got them at least once in either the Carling or FA Cup every single year without fail. Just got them again in the CC 4th Round.

Same here!

Just played Everton in the League Cup Semi and has to be the 3rd year in a row where I've played them in the Quarters or Semis of the FA Cup or CC.

Muahaha. Diouf is really starting to come along for me finally. Just scored 2 in our 3-1 win over Wolves and got man of the match! Also this is a strong Wolves side who are currently 10th in the PL and after getting 7th last season are looking to do the same again.

I have decided to take over Besiktas. 4 goals conceded in first 11 games of a season - and half of them in a game where I had no defensive midfielders (and I usually play with two) - plenty of draws though so I'm only 3rd at the minute, with a very good chance of making it into the last 16 of Champions League though as I'm on 7 points after 4 games, and if I beat Maccabi Haifa at home then I'm through. Brilliant defence I have created so far, Matteo Ferrari has been a monster. :D

Pretty much, yeah. SI aren't a huge company themselves after all.

(We all get violated by being suckered into this cycle, and we love them for it.)

Some of us rightfully call SI out on it. It's not some cutesy-cuddly being, it's a business.

Personally I only buy every other FM because the difference between each version annually isn't as large as they'd have you believe.

That and the fact that, even when playing insanely large amounts, I honestly don't believe you can fully enjoy the game in just a year.

This game is so scripted and bullshit.

Massive 6 pointer vs Hull, who are bottom and can't score for shit. Zayatte scored a 25 yarder into the top corner and I had a last minutre winner ruled out for offside despite being about 10 yards onside...final score 3-3. Amazing.

Your players are complacent against lower league oposition and you should consider telling the press before such a match that you "think 1 or 2 players may find motivation to be a problem" also it may help to play down your expectations of winning such a game in the press.

This is just a general rule when facing such teams.

My players are always complacent against lower opposition. I'll use your tip and see if it improves things.

Another tip that works for me is to use squad players or youth prospects. Assuming it's not just luck, I think it's about them taking their opportunity to shine against weaker opposition.

First teamers with high determination are always a definite when playing a team that's much lower than yours though, they gain focus when they go a goal down and react.

I'm Coventry, despite Hull being rock bottom, they were still favourites. The question obviously didn't rear it's head in these circumstances.

for lower rep sides my teams have always been fine.

Always say 'we will make sure complacency does not become an issue', 'we will work even harder to ensure victory'.

Generally i play a load of fringe/youth players as well but not for tactical reasons, just to give them games. Though I have to swap my team nearly every game to keep the side at 98-100%, so i rotate LOADS regardless of the game. Is very amusing though when my 'second string' whipe Liverpool 4-0 at anfield! :D

My United side is too good and the game is too easy - still very enjoyable.

In my first season I brought in Lukaku, Agbonlahor, Shelvey and a load of youth players - since then every summer has been youth signings and players promoted from the youth ranks - haven't bought a player over 18 since the first season apart from Joe Hart, who was brought in to boost my number of English internationals a bit (had 12 in the senior squad at one point) and Rodwell who i brought in when Carrick decided he might need a new challenge.

Season 2012/2013 (i think)

.............Foster.

Raf...Evans..Martinou..Evra

.Shelvey...Rodwelll..Andeson

.Welbeck..Rooney..Lukaku

Looking forward to the coming summer in the game when I will shake things up a bit more. Have two class brazillian regens coming in for CB and CM and have Creistig on loan at Shalke (first team reg there with an avg. rating of 7.4) whom I want to make space for, and I have a couple of youth strikers who i need to create some space for too. Reckon Anderson will be sold, maybe Rio too, and Agbonlahor could be on his way too... though I don't like selling my English players unless I am replacing them with an english player - there are no english players I wish to sign though, so oh well.

Just sacked my assistant. Milan legend Tassotti. He kept fecking up at friendlies and made my players unhappy. Downside is that I don't seem to be able to find a replacement

Nikola Kalinic seems to score every fecking time I play Rovers. :o

End of the transfer window and I've had two bids accepted, but I only need one of them.

Suarez from Ajax, £15million plus 10% of the profit of the next sale.
Kalou from Bolton, £9.25million with no clauses.

I've only got Rooney, Lukaku and Diouf as my striking options this season with Macheda and Welbeck both out on loan again. Who would be a better buy and do more for me? I don't need them for an AMC/R/L position though like Kalou can play, got plenty in that position. Decisions decisions!

I'd go for Suarez or look at Jovetic, Salvio, Gervinho or Neymar

Second prem season with Coventry. Just survived by the skin of my teeth last season. Spent £15m this season and my squad is still so weak. Yannick Djalo has gone from being a Sky Blue hero to a villian, he's been tapped up by Villa and is being a cnut to get a move.

Is anyone else having problems loading this game on mac?

Its been fine for ages and then last week its just stopped, a few people on the fm forums are having the same problem.

I have emailed apple about it but the ignorant shits wont reply.

I'm having withdrawal symptoms sitting here watching sodding countdown, I have trophys to win FFS.

I've figured out your problem.

Manuel Reiter. Bought this guy for 775k euro's in my first season from Aue.

He's just about ready to go into the first team on a permanent basis. Or I might stick him in the Werder II side and get them back up to 3. Liga next season.

Oh and for those stats you can't see (Technique, Work Rate) are 19 and 14 respectively.

Pity his decisions stat wasn't higher. Would that really matter for a CM though?

Almost cocked up this season in Jan 2012 as his contract (before he accepted a new one from me) expired at the end of this season. Wolfsburg offered him a deal. Thankfully though, he stayed and signed on.

have removed the fm2010 icon from my dock. there had to be an end to this madness.

got offered the job at Real Madrid after 6 years and 5 titles at Milan. Asked for a weeks thinking time, during which I offered contracts - with maximum of buy outs of £5m., to my best players. Did take 8 players with me
it's 2020 and I sold Ronaldo to Fiorentina. Have to pay £46k of his wage for a year. He agreed a move to United in the first place, but I had to pay £150k if he did go there.

(Note: I'm playing a game that's up to date).

12th March 2013: Liverpool have hired prominent fifty-two year old Spanish legend Rafa Benitez as their new manager.

He won the Europa league during his time at Inter. Liverpool are currently 7th in the league. It makes me wonder what RAWK would be like.

There are way too many screamers scored in this game.
