Gaming Football Manager 2009

Have had an unbelievable start to my game as United. 9 points clear with 2 games in hand, Played 21, won 18 and drawn the rest!! In the semi of the Carling Cup, still in the FA Cup and Champions league.

One problem is that nearly every one of my players is wanted by another club, keep getting news like "Ronaldo is a quality player states Scolari" feck Off!!

If you put Ronaldo and Rooney as having free roles, take long shots etc, they bang them in for fun.
 
I just found out that there is a special Arsenal edition of the game as well because of some deal with the club or something. No wonder they are stupidly good on here.
 
Tbh they are not doing that well on mine. 6th place, 20 points behind United. They did knock me out of the Carling Cup though, and Rooney has just done his cruciate - out for EIGHT months

Are you playing with the most recent patch? I heard it's been sorted on that, i just didn't wanna restart my game 2 seasons in for the sake of Arsenal not being as good. So i shouldn't be moaning really.

Benzema did his cruciate as well a few months back, out for the same amount of time.
 
messi signed a new contract . release clause went down from 120m to 37m


dont have enough to sign him .. will try in the summer

Yeah am on the 9.2 patch so thats probably why. Rooney getting injured is a right pain though, i have the league wrapped up but dont fancy my chances in the others now

Avoid expressing interest in or anything like that till the summer. He'll get offered a new contract again if teams start sniffing around him.

Bid as soon as you get the money, if he doesn't wanna discuss terms with you, offer him everything you can, as well as a yearly wage rise. This worked with me.

Having problems keeping him fit at the moment, he gets injured, some times for a few months, about month after he returns to fitness. Luckily my youngster signed from City has been impressing. Although i gotta put up without him for another month as well.

I am in 2009 January and Messi's been offered a New contract and his Min fee release clause is 45M. :smirk:

But i highly doubt he would accept any of my contract offers though...

I sold him for 11M as he wont be much use for me in the long run and Nani has stepped up anyway. I bought Srna, who is one of the best winger/fullback's on the game. So, i am sorted. ;)

Actually, I posted a couple of days ago that that exact thing happened in my game. He didn't originally want to go to me, but he did when I offered him all I could.


I sold him for 11M as he wont be much use for me in the long run and Nani has stepped up anyway. I bought Srna, who is one of the best winger/fullback's on the game. So, i am sorted. ;)

I tried to get Srna, but he opted for Tottenham instead of me. Also, my first purchase was Guardado, who is basically Ronaldo on the left. Now I've got a bit of a luxury problem, as I've also got a very good CM playmaker ReGen, a very good defensive midfielder prospect (and Hargreaves), and almost-Messi Anderson.

My temporary solution is to play a sort of 4-4-2 with extremely high tempo. My players are good enough, and I've got enough good players to replace the ones who grow tired.

It really hasn't. I've said it before, I know, but in my simulation game they've won all 6 PL trophies so far, as well as a few FA Cups and Champion League trophies.

Granted, I just won the league quite a few points ahead of them on my United game (second year), and Chelsea finished ahead of them too. It's hard to say, really, but no team would ever win 6 trophies in a row.

I tried to sell Berbatov in my first Summer purely because a lot of people on here said they just couldnt get him to score.

I'm glad i didn't!

Rooney can't get in the team at the minute because he only has 5 goals in 18 apps. Tevez has 12 in 15 and Dimi has 13 in 14!

Can't get Ronnie to score though :(

He has scored 36 for me and i am in February and also his 100th goal for United

Nowhere near that for me, though he did just score my only goal in a 1-0 win over Arsenal. :D
 
My Ronaldo doesn't score a lot of goals either. Well, I guess it would be a lot for a winger, but not anywhere close to last season. He gets 8-15 league goals every season, and a bunch of assists. He plays well, though, and wins a lot of the awards he can win.

I had that problem, give him the free role with Rooney, forward rund, long shots,run with ball often, he was my top scorer (though the main reason for that was Rooney getting injured for 8 months)

I do the exactly same with Roon and Ronaldo

Ronaldo has 20+ goals and 20+ assists at the moment :drool:

Took a few penalties though

I bought and sold a lot of players:

IN - Srna, Diarra, Keirrison, Saivet, Diego, Balotelli, some coaches

OUT - Fletcher, Carrick, Park, Tevez

It seemed to do the trick, as i won: PL (Chelsea chasing me all the way - falling off terribly near the end), League Cup (did Chelsea on the way - Spurs in the final) and the CL (Madrid and Arsenal beaten on the way, Inter in the final on penalties - the only team i could not tactfully master). Rooney scored 35 goals, Ronaldo 15 with 20 assists, Berbie got 24 with 14 assists, Keirisson got 16 and his first 3 caps from brazil with 4 goals, Balotelli got 14 with 8 assists and now is a shoe-in for Italy up-front (4 goals, 5 caps). Nani did really well; his stats improved and he was in deadly form in fits and starts. Evra still got player of the season though, and scored the best goal against Arsenal (Like Giggs 99).

Second season transfers:

IN: Bojan (free), Camacho, Georginio Wijlgniabnvfcnc or whatever his name is.

I'm already pretty bored.
 
I'm Newcastle. 2/3 of the way through first season. This game cheats so much. Second home game in a row I've been fecked over, absolutely dominated the game and had 9 one on ones, yet concede bullshit goals either from blistering 30 yarders by players that have 7 for long shots or the other team that haven't had the ball all game manage to turn into 70's Brazil for 5 minutes.

Michael Owen is a little cnut that doesn't learn, he's just fcked me over and agreed to got to Real Madrid on a free (ring any bells?)
 
Gone all the way up from Blue Square South to League one, having spent 5k and giving the club huge financial profits also in the process. Always nice to see that players list you as a favourite person.

Playing with big teams is boring.

Try Championship teams, or challenges like Wigan, Udinese, Villarreal etc.
 
Oh I forgot, there's more of an injury bug now than ever, I just got two people in the same match injured with a damaged elbow after falling awkwardly, out for 3 weeks. Then next match, same thing. Then, a few weeks later, exactly the same, 3 weeks damaged elbow.

Sounds like you need to lower the intensity of your elbow training.

Well, i created my own tactic and it actually created wonders. Especially to Ronnie, he has been amazing all season. No problems with injuries, longest injury for me was Srna who was out for about 4 weeks.
 
i won it all except the super cup .. lost that on penalties..
higest scorer was rooney with 24 or something like that .. berba less than 20 , tevez a bit over 20 ..
how did you get ronnie to score that many :eek:

also.. skin + custom backgrounds .. how how ?
