The striking is really hard to get right, I seem to find playing certain players together seems to work, soon as you switch one out it goes to shit. My Villa side with Carew and Agbonlahor up top were a goal a game between them easily, as soon as I brought in Huntelaar 2nd season I couldnt get him in the side because if I did I drew blanks. I know alot of it is tactics but jesus if I dont play a certain two I can't score, if one is injured im knackered.
I concede about 3 screamers a game. I don't get scored against any other way apart from 30yarders!
Same here. And yelling at the game does not seem to stop this.
I heard if you hover your cursor over the ball, you score more.
So frustrating. Just lost to Saint-Ettiene playing as Valencia after conceding three goals from 20+ yards.
Their long shot ratings were 12, 12, 13.
I can only name a bench full of U18s in my QPR game. 7 long term injuries all within the space of a week.
Why not actually finish the game before they release it? It's always like this, they release the game, but you have to wait until atleast the second patch before it's playable. Also, sisoft's website is absolute wank. I heard they may have updated it, but I can't be arsed to check it out as it's probably still shit.
I admit to being a bit frustrated whilst writing this post. It may all go away when/if I stop conceding screamers and getting people injured all the time.

The game didn't work on my computer, thanks to the stupid graphics requirements.
I played it on my friend's computer and looks like I'm not missing much by sticking to 2008. Why did I uninstall 2007, again? Argh.

Tosic has made a great start for my Rangers side. The Partizan cnuts wouldn't settle for anything less than 11 million. All his goals have come from free-kicks btw.
I have also signed Rafael on loan. He scored on his debut and in the League Cup final.

I'm back on this again since the FM 2009 demo came out.

I'm already running 9.1.
Steam updated it automatically for me.
Is there anything i can do to ensure that when i boot it it is in fact running the update?
When you start a new game, it should ask you whether you want to start a 9.1 or 9.0 version of the game
See below, and in future don't trust steam to do anything for you it will only lead to a life of pain and frustration.
Also as soon as you load up your current save, the first page you see (game status) it should tell you the version your using.
Yeh was running the old version for some reason so i downloaded it manually instead.

Try this tactic, I downloaded it from the SI forums and tweaked it for use with United specifically. Two hard working forwards, and wingers that cut inside and get inside the box. Used best with Rooney-Tevez. Drop the left striker back to AMC position with a f-arrow if the midfield is overrun, if using Berbatov then put him in the right striker position and drop Closing Down to about 30% so that he stays up.
I've been scoring at least 2-3 every match when fielding a full strength lineup.

Seriously though, I have not even looked at this game because of all the stuff I am reading in this forum. I'm not going to buy it until a patch is out that rectifies all these problems.
I really don't understand why all these problems were not realised when they were testing the game. It's absolutely stupid.

I haven't touched the training side of it to be honest.
My crisis has now eased though, only 4 in the first team squad and only 1 that i'd consider first team.
In fairness too it, apart from my current injury issue (which may have been fluke) im starting to really enjoy it...
Gotta be honest I haven't really had any major issues with injuries in all my seasons, 1 long term injury in about 5 seasons.
I think the injuries are a little high but not game breaking.
I'm currently wrapping up my first season with Ingolstadt '04. Projected to finish last in the league, 150-1 odds of promotion. Currently with 2 games to go I am first with a 3 point cushion and all I need is 1 point from my remaining fixtures to promote.
Only had two signings leading into the season, a young Italian named Mascio and an Argie named Vizcarra.

The game is great. No big bugs, apart from the "apparent" injury bug, which I'm not sure is even really there. I certainly haven't had many more injuries than I expect, playing in lower league.
As i say it may have been a fluke but 11 out of 20 in my first team squad is pretty excessive.
I need a backup for Daniel Alves. Anyone recommend me a good right back who wont moan if he doesnt get many games? Currently loaned rafael from United but with Alves out for 2 months, Im not happy with the way he is playing.
